I found Alexis on Unilocal after about a month of research and found the best trainer I ever could have asked for. I had never done weight training before so I was nervous to say the least. Alexis immediately put me at ease and answered each of my million questions. She was able to explain to me what we were doing and how it was working that muscle along with educating me on fueling my body properly to get the best results. My first month I dropped about 2 pounds but then when I finally got a handle on macros(Alexis is a big supporter of macros) I dropped 5 pounds the second month! Before I knew it I was able to lift heavier then I ever imagined. I felt so strong, looked amazing and felt I could conquer the world! Alexis always knew just how much to push me but could read my body like a book and knew when I was at my max. That alone makes an amazing trainer. Alexis has a calming, kind vibe around her so I always feel safe and comfortable when I work out with her. I feel I can push myself and always want to make her proud. Alexis is the best trainer around. You won’t be disappointed in choosing her. It will be the best decision you ever made!

To say that this review is beyond overdue is an extreme understatement… Finally have some time to sit down and make sure that the world knows about how incredible Alexis is! When I was living in Orange County and trying to figure out what gym to join/where to look for a trainer/contemplating just settling for YouTube as my trainer, I finally made a decision that I wanted to meet one on one with a personal trainer. If I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t be stuck with a scary gym contract or tricked into something I didn’t want. I was also extremely nervous, because it is so important that you don’t feel intimidated or embarrassed when you are working out for the first time and looking like an amateur in front of all of the experienced gym rats. I knew I had always wanted to join a gym, proportion my body/muscles, and figure out what exactly to do with all those terrifying machines; I just needed someone to educate and guide me in the right direction. As soon as I met Alexis and was greeted with the most genuine(and perfect) smile, I felt at ease. No phony attitude. No intimidation. We got into talking about what exactly I was looking for, and went from there. I started with twice a week sessions and felt results after the first workouts. Ouch. Very good ouch. Not only that, but while continuing with her, I would feel the effects of my workouts after EVERY workout. My muscles were constantly being pushed and worked, and I never became bored of any session, it was always different! She has this perfect way of pushing you, yet making you feel so comfortable at the same time. PERFECTFORMULA. It’s already hard enough on yourself thinking/dying inside«Wow! I’m shaking and looking like this baby horse on new legs, awesome!», you don’t need to feel that from your trainer as well. She shaped workouts specifically for me, and told me what each exercise did for which muscles, so that when I worked out on my own, I understood. The private gym atmosphere was also AMAZING.(And so were the protein shakes after each workout. Heaven.) I even started doing double training sessions with my boyfriend! 2 of us at one time. it was incredible. He had different goals and areas to work on, and she was able to cater to both of us during the same session. Best idea ever, even to do with friends or family! After moving to Los Angeles, OC is too far for regular training sessions, but I miss her DEARLY and she gave me everything I asked for and so much more. I wanted to learn how to grow muscles, what foods/supplements I should/shouldn’t be having, and she completely catered my plan to MY. LIFE. It is so important to keep things realistic so that you can truly make it a lifestyle. She also gave me confidence in my body which is the greatest gift. I always felt things were not exactly how I wanted them to be, but I wasn’t exactly sure what to do or how to adjust it. My fears of the #gymlyfe were shattered and it feels so great going to my local gym, walking around with confidence in knowing exactly how to work what I need to, and change up my workouts to keep my muscles constantly challenged. If you live in the Orange County area and are contemplating using any other trainer, you are crazy! You will not be disappointed with your choice to see Alexis. She truly is the TOP Body Trainer! Since Alexis has been training me since mid-October 2013 she has completely changed my life. Many of my friends and family no longer recognize me, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. When I started going to her I was a mess — 230lbs, 30% body fat, no inclination towards healthy living, eating well, or exercise. I suffered from self-esteem issues and chronic depression. I had bought gym memberships but had never actually gone due to public embarrassment. Alexis taught me how to enjoy the gym, how to try new things, how to consistently challenge my body to achieve new goals, and to shock the muscles. Even after 18 months she still surprises me with new techniques that I had never considered. My body fat is down to 13%, my weight down to 195lbs and my muscle tone is earth shattering. Even the other trainers in the gym have commented how far I have transformed so quickly. My entire life has changed. I have nearly cut alcohol consumption entirely, I never eat fast food, I am conscientious about everything I put in my body, but not to the point where I can’t enjoy a good slice of cheesecake or glass of syrah(especially since I am an amateur winemaker). Alexis has introduced me to a part of myself whom I never knew existed and who I like very much. Years of depression and self-criticism has been overcome by a simple dedication towards physical awareness and fitness. She is always receptive to train those body parts which I enjoy training the most. I am leg pressing over 700lbs, doing a 255lbs glute bridge, a 200lbs leg curl, and a 275lbs deep squat. And mind you, I just turned 42 years old this weekend and have been training for just under 18 months. Alexis is cute too. She is super cool, friendly, courteous, always on time, and is flexible — all rare traits these days. I live and work in the San Fernando Valley and sometimes suffer last minute scheduling problems which is never an issue. I could never imagine nor would want to train with anyone else.

I’ve been with Alexis for about a year now and she has completely changed my life. Her knowledgeable and dedication to her clients is unlike any other trainer. With Alexis, it’s more than just weight loss. It’s about a toning, strengthening, body confidence and learning what works best for you. We do monthly measurements, discuss food plans, nutrition tips and personal fitness goals. Every workout is different so I never get bored and am always looking forward to what she’ll be teaching me in our next session. Fitness is her passion and it’s infectious. There’s so much good to be said about Alexis as a trainer and as a person! I’ve been training with her for a few months, and even in that short time she has boosted my confidence, given me solid results, and encouraged me along the way. If you are looking for a challenging but fun way to burn some calories, you have to try Alexis’ bodyroxx class. She is very knowledgeable & encouraging, but most of all this class is fun. She definitely helps you to get a good workout & I would recommend her as a trainer.

This is the best boot camp around. We start on the treadmill with a warm up jog and then move on to sprints on flat or hills. The instructor is playing awesome music and personally encouraging me to do my best. After the first of 5 or so sprints we move on to the floor. I love that my body is sore after each workout. Alexis’ bodyroxx class is addictive, challenging and so much fun. Her energy and enthusiasm make the class go by very quickly. I’ve been doing this class for over a year and consistently come back because of the knowledge of her training, her changing up the class every time and her sheer positive attitude that we can all do it!

Alexis has been my trainer for Back Bay Fitness’ Body Roxx boot camp for about 4 months now! Alexis develops challenging and ever-changing workouts for each of the boot camp clients and provides great feedback and suggestions to work at each individual’s fitness level. Alexis knows when to push but also knows her client’s limits and makes sure they are safe. My experience with Alexis has been nothing short of amazing! Alexis is an amazing instructor. My journey trying to find a hip-hop instructor led me to her, and she really didn’t disappoint. If you’re a good judge of character, or you’re really able to pick up on a person’s vibes the first thing you’ll notice from Alexis is her personality. She’s always upbeat, extremely patient, and you can tell she really loves what she does. It makes a huge difference when you’re 20,30,40 minutes into an hour long training session and you feel like you’re on your last legs but your instructor is right there with you coaching you with the same smile and enthusiasm she had when you first walked in the door. It would be a blast to have her coaching me throughout the day, from getting up in the morning to brushing my teeth to filing paperwork at the office — no doubt this girl can turn watching paint dry into something exciting. Which isn’t to say her classes or instructions are boring — quite the contrary. Although dance class is probably more fun then say a hard workout at the gym(depending on the type of person you are) it’s still rigorous exercise but the fun we have makes it seem the hour really fly by. She will try to figure out the best way to get you to learn whatever it is you need to learn, and will practice with you until you feel like you got it. And when you’ve been working on the same step for the last half an hour and finally nail it, you can sense the pride beaming out of her and the«yes i got it!» feeling is shared by everybody involved. You know you’ve found someone special when they’re able to match your sense of accomplishment as a student with their own accomplishments as a teacher. Picture Yoda with a mix of Tony Robbins and a sprinkle of the energizer bunny and you have Alexis Woods. In short, whether you’re a beginner or a pro, you really can’t go wrong with Alexis. At the end of the day, the feeling as if the time and money spent with her was well worth it, and really that’s the best outcome anybody can hope for when hiring a personal trainer…

I typically work out 6 – 7 days a week and when I take a class I like to be challenged. I have tried several fitness classes from personal training, pilates, bar classes, lift classes as well as boot camp and I have to say that bodyroxx classes with Alexis are by far the best. She works well with everyone from beginners to seasoned athletes. She has positive energy and is very knowledgeable. Her classes are fun and are never repetitive. And the best part is that if you are consistent with the work outs, you will see the results quickly. I would HIGHLY recommend bodyroxx with Alexis to anyone. I absolutely love the Bodyroxx class at Back Bay Fitness that Alexis teaches! I have taken a lot of bootcamp/gym classes and this is by far my favorite. Time goes by quick and before you know it the class is over and you feel better than ever. Even though the first week is a bit tough and you will be sore(that I’m sure of) it is worth it! I saw results quickly and was able to work up my stamina within the first week. This class is not only fun, has upbeat music but it really gives you the workout you need to feel great when you leave. I highly encourage everyone to give it a shot. Even if your not a runner or you feel like you are really out of shape, Alexis will help you get to where your body and endurance needs to be. Just give it a shot, you have nothing to lose.

Alexis is AMAZING!!! My husband bought me a month of personal training at home for my 1st Mother’s Day. I hadn’t worked out in over a year and was a little apprehensive about what my post-baby body would’ve capable of. She took my concerns into consideration and was still able to «kick my @$$» every session! Now with my sessions complete, I feel stronger than before I was pregnant and my husband is also very happy with the results ;) Overall: she was so awesome to work with and I definitely recommend her to everyone!

Thanks to sites like LivingSocial and Groupon, I’ve become a serial fitness-class-buyer. I’ve tried a myriad of group training, personal training and bootcamps throughout OC, but Alexis’ bodyroxx class is by far my favorite. Great for any level(go at your own pace), challenging, and FUN! I have a blast in this class and I know it’s due to Alexis’ good energy, knowledge in her field, and friendly coaching. She is the perfect balance of a trainer: Encouraging, supportive, and never condescending. I highly recommend this class and trainer.
