it’s within a 2 min walking distance form my work, yet I’ve never been in the last 5 years. don’t bother, it’s full of loud white people, and there was nothing worthy to remember, I got a screamin burrito with carnitas, and it was meh… If it’s Wahoo’s FISH Taco, why didn’t I see more fish options? no reason to go back

Yolanda is really rude. Furthermore, my service dog was not allowed in. I asked Yolanda for the manager and the manager said my dog could not come in cause it didn’t have a vest or an «id». Service dogs are NOT required to wear vests, collars, or bandanas that specifically identify them as a service animal, nor are the dogs or their handlers required to obtain certain licenses, identifications cards, or official certification. There is no central governing agency which either trains, certifies, or otherwise verifies the legitimacy of a service animal. There is no official training or obedience protocol that all service dogs must adhere to, simply that they cannot«cause a disturbance» while in public.”

Great food. I can’t add anything to the positive reviews. I haven’t had the bad experiences described in the few bad reviews so can’t comment on those. I did deduct one star for parking, as it is inadequate. Otherwise, Wahoo’s are all great and this one is no exception to that.

A fast food Mexican restaurant that I never heard about, but my coworker pointed it out to me to try. With it being basically a fast food joint, I had rather low expectations. Sometimes it’s nice to have low expectations to have them exceeded. I tried two tacos, one fish and one vegetarian. The Fish Taco had a corn tortilla, cheese, cabbage, and grilled white fish. I expected dried out cubed pieces of fish, but I found nicely grilled fish that was still juicy and had a small charred grilled flavor. I should also point out its nice to see corn tortilla shells instead of flour. Vegetarians, you have a pretty tasty taco here, so feel free to join your omnivorous friends. The Tofu Taco came on a corn tortilla with lettuce and Polynesian marinade sauté. They use extra firm tofu so its not mushy. The star here is the marinade that sweetens the taco making you lick your chops. Its fast, simple, delicious, and accommodating.

I want to give 5 stars for the staff and food, but the parking is so bad that it is a waste of time even trying to go during normal eating hours. I get a spot maybe half the time. Otherwise I just end up going to different restaurant.

Writing this review as I enjoy a quick lunch. Fish tacos, black beans, rice and a totally full glass of wine. How could a place go wrong! Everything is great and service is stellar and friendly! Great pit stop if in the area!

The best chicken nachos! Such huge portions and tasted so fresh. Though the restaurant is tiny and overly crowded and ordering takes a little while, once the food comes out– you forget the struggle and smile. Can’t wait to go back and feast some more.

Sign up for their free app and you will get combo #1 for free! This is on the quieter side of the bridge and there’s a ton of seating. We luckily ate during happy hour so we got discounted pitchers of beer.

Gross upon gross. Fish taco was waaay over cooked and cold. Hands down the worst I’ve eaten and I’ve had lots! Taquitos were horrible! I ordered beef and it looked and tasted weird. Plus it had bell peppers! Think it was ground beef, put me in the mind of meatloaf which I DETEST! Best thing I ate here was the ice chips.

I really like wahoos, but I got cold uncooked enchiladas tonight and I don’t have time to go back in and reorder. What a waste.

I like their food but staff need to be a little more friendly. They need to smile a little more. I feel like they think I am going to ask for free food

Good balance of flavors. Nice staff and we were able to take our time. We had one of the bowl options. .one with chicken and the other with shrimp. We’ll be back.

Beware of YOLANDA! I had the worst experience at this Wahoos last night. This is not my 1st run in with Yolanda and I really try to avoid her because she is rude, mean and out of her way vicious. Yesterday I went to Wahoos for lunch and returned to the same location for the dinner and brought my friends. I have 35 check ins at this Wahoos and frequent many of the Wahoos around OC. I have 355 «Loyalty Points» from the app(5 per visit) That around 70 visits just since they did the app. I think Im kind of a regular. For medical reasons I stick to fish salads and because the point rewards are mainly fried food I can only get them to share when I go out with other folks. Or spend them and get another hat. I walked in with 70 points to spend, I ordered a chips and salsa with my salad, I was charged 40 points for the chips and Yolanda then denied my reward telling me I did not qualify. I tried to find it on the app to show her and had trouble to verify. Clearly they can verify they charged me but Yolanda would rather belittle the customers and accuse them of lying. I asked for a manager and Joann came out. Ive seen her many times and she has always been sweet. I explained the situation and she said she cant get involved. I showed her my app and how much I come to her place and she continued to insist she could not help me. I was angry, embarrassed, unable to finish my salad and completely ruined my night after Yolandas NASTY attitude. This is my 2nd time complaining to corporate about YOLANDA and this time I wrote eight letters and hope to get a response. Every Wahoos I go to has awesome, helpful, nice and friendly staff. Victor over on Warner makes everyone feel like a regular. Im amazed she is allowed to treat people the way she does and continue to work there. FIVE of us will never return to that Wahoos. Just in the tips we did not leave last night would have more that covered my STOLEN chips and regret of dinner but Joann decided a regular customer did not matter. It took me 8 visits to earn that STOLEN basket of chips and Im one of the few customers that tips everytime Im there. More than payed for the stolen token and just floored at the complete lack of customer service, didnt even pretend to care. Im sad because I honestly work walking distance from there and this is so much easier than Crystal Court when Im busy.

How can you not like this place. It’s fun, it’s original, the food is great and the service is not bad at all. Tacos and beer, don’t threaten me with a good time.

Okay, let me start by saying that my family and I have been eating here for years!!! Growing up surfing in Cali and being a general beach bum, I loved the alternative vibe of the restaurant and the food has always hit the sweet spot for price, taste and healthy options. Over that last 2 months, I have been doing a lot of work in Costa Mesa and I had the pleasure of stopping here for lunch at least once a week. It’s on the way to the Freeway and a great way to bring some take-out to my family after work. Well after today, I will never ever come back to this Location. I cannot believe the rudeness and ineptitude displayed by the staff. In particular«Cashier» Yolanda Tapas. Here’s what went down: I ordered 3 Wahoo’s Bowls for take out. 2 spicy fish and 1 regular grilled fish. I arrived at my destination in Garden Grove, hungry like a beast and ready to eat. I laid the 3 to-go boxes side by side and opened them up. The very first thing I noticed was the unappetizing look of the fish they had served us for the 2 spicy fish bowls. The reg grilled fish Wahoo’s bowl looked good, 2 big pieces of fish laying side by side. The 2 spicy fish«Wack» bowls were broken up into numerous tiny chunks, and looked like they had been scraped from the grill after the Filet’s had been served to other luckier guests. Visualize tuna out of a can! I paid for filet’s, not 1 inch pieces of leftovers. We felt we deserved a refund or at least a Voucher for 2 bowls at a later time. I took pictures of the crime scene and my sister called and very nicely asked to speak to a «MANAGER». Yolanda Tapas the«CASHIER» got on the phone and confirmed that she was a manager and after listening to my sister explain the situation, proceeded to accuse my sister of lying. She Insinuated that we had eaten the food and was just trying to get a free meal. Mind you, we are all staring at the uneaten bowls, so I started taking video, and we put Yolanda on speaker. I recorded the whole conversation and the Uneaten bowls. My sister was so heated by being accused of lying that my Brother in Law had to take over and asked to speak to her Supervisor. In comes Alex the Manager, who clarifies that Yolanda is just a Cashier!!! So she lied about being a manager and then accuses my sister of lying about the food. He was a little better, but he proceeds to tell us that we have to drive all the way back from Garden Grove to Costa Mesa to issue the refund. Total bollacks! It was the principal of the matter, not the $ 17 bucks we spent on the Wack Bowls. Not gonna spend 30 mins each way for something they could do over the phone. A real apology and an offer to make it right is all we wanted. There are lots of options when it comes to eating out and if they don’t correct their customer service, they’re going to see a lose a lot more customers and they’ll see many more Unilocal Reviews.

I haven’t had Wahoo’s in years. And then I had it today. And it was magical. The menu has gone through drastic changes in order to accommodate the health crazed obsession that seems to be diseasing every restaurant menu. Kale. Substitution for this or that. Carb free menu items. One thing that has magically stayed the same is the #1 and in my case, one chicken enchilada, white rice, black beans, all in green sauce. So good. For the low, low price for $ 5.91. That’s basically free by Orange County standards. After all these years, it’s still so good and filling. AND this Wahoo’s restaurant in particular has impeccable service with employees asking whether you need anything during the course of your meal — mind you, this is not a wait service restaurant. Wahoo’s, I still love you.

Awesome fish tacos for a great price! I also tries their teriyaki bowl and it was pretty tasty! Sadly they do not partake in ‘taco tuesday’.

It’s been too long, Wahoo’s! Parking at lunch time is tough so try to get there before 12:15. This time is had a grilled fish and Cajun fish taco, with chips and salsa, brown rice, and black beans. In retrospect, I should’ve skipped on the chips and salsa, as that was too much food for me.(Not that it stopped me from eating almost all of it!)

Wahoo’s is best know for their fish tacos. Located in the Macy Home side of SCP on the 2nd floor. I have only ate at Wahoo’s twice in my entire life because they flood is bland. The first time i ordered there fish tacos and it wasn’t good. I mean it was missing flavor and the second time I order a outer reef burrito with chicken and it was just so plain. It really need spices or salt and pepper, lime or something. I mean it tasted like a flour tortilla and chicken no seasoning with some canned avocado and sour cream sauce at the bottom. Nasty in my book. If i had to choose between American Mexican food joints like Rubio’s or Wahoo’s it would be Rubio’s because they have food that has a good flavor. They have tasty sauces. I honestly don’t know how that places stays in business. There is nothing good about that place. Food is overpriced and plain as can be.
