They seriously have the best hot chocolate I have ever had! The atmosphere is very quaint and cozy!

I gave one star although I should point out this is due solely to the bar staff, the coffee/chocolate staff were quick, polite and attentive. However, both bartenders made eye contact yet did not offer to take our order, nor did they bother after we moved to the bar. Very poor service, I don’t care how busy you are, a customer is a customer. Won’t be back

Fun place, a friend took me here a couple of weeks ago. I was impressed with their selection of drinks. They make their own chocolate candies(which they mistakenly call«truffles»), they carry a Cote du Rhone wine, which I love and will probably bring me back. The menu is limited and relatively simple, so probably not a great place for dinner for a group but what we had was tasty, albeit at he pricey side. Really, the 2 things that I would knock about this place are it’s hipster vibe and the prices. 2 of us had a small lunch each, 2 – 3 drinks each, she had a coffee drink and we split 4 of the chocolates. That was almost 100 with tip. Seriously. This is not a place to come on the cheap, but, it’s unique and cool, if not almost too«cool» and has good food and drinks. Would be a great place to bring a date, as long as you don’t mind racking up a close to triple digit bill.

Great atmosphere and high quality beverages with the bonus of gourmet chocolate and alcohol offerings. They also offer monthly cupping classes — a real treat for this area of STL where the coffee game is dissapointingly weak.

Cute spot, great drinks… Employees though… They act like they’re hanging out at their local coffee shop and seem inconvenienced to take your order and then hurry back behind the bar to text and take shots of some hipster concoction in a Barbie sized mason jar(adorable). I’m sure this isn’t all of them but they could use some lessons in hospitality and realize that they are at work, not just doing us a favour that they reluctantly carry out. Give me a break, you’re in Cottleville, Missouri.

Very cozy, warm environment. Nice«rusticy» décor. I tried a breakfast croissant and a pour over coffee(can’t remember which one) but it was delicious! We went when it was snowy outside. Can’t wait to come back when it’s dryer out and sit around the fire and explore the rest of their menu!

This was a quaint little place off the beaten path in Cottleville. I was meeting my friend for a small girls night out birthday celebration. I wasn’t impressed with the attention I received upon first arriving, but settled in and ordered a dark chocolate martini and the walnut salad with chicken. My friend ordered the same martini and the pretzel with cheese and mustard sauces. The dark chocolate martini was fabulous. I was expecting run-of-the-mill and they truly outdid themselves. It was worth all 10 – 15 minutes I waited for its arrival. I’ve taken a picture of it. They went to great lengths to garnish it. It was creamy and cold and made with their homemade chocolate mix. Not just a chocolate-flavored liquor paired with vodka. The salad was delicious too with a tasty vinaigrette. I ate half my friend’s pretzel and cheese dip as well and the pretzel was just the right combination of crispy exterior and chewy interior. The cheese dip was very good. I can’t wait to go back with my husband and try something else, like dessert! The drink pretty much made my dessert but the dessert menu was enticing; I was sad to forgo it.

Dirty chai: how have I lived so long without you? The chocolates are good, the ice cream is fun, but the dirty chai has changed my life!

Fantastic everything! We’re from Portland and know a great coffee shop when we see it. Knowledgeable attentive staff and great pastries and chocolate! Fantastic choice for small biz Saturday unless you want over roasted chain coffee. Always out first stop when we get in town. Not to be missed!

This is a great place to support if you love home grown local businesses with a hipster vibe. Have a glass of wine and a flatbread. Appreciate the fact that you’re not at Applebee’s.

I had a disappointing lunch in Cottleville today and remembered hearing about VB Chocolate Bar and thought why not give it a try. It’s a cute place. Not really understanding how it worked I got in line at the coffee counter behind a mother and son. They were chatting with the cashier, there was another woman behind the counter making coffee, and there was a guy behind what looked to be the alcohol bar and I think another guy floating around doing I’m not sure what. The mother and son were ordering drinks and some kind of pastry. I didn’t think much of it and starting looking at the truffles, candy, and coffee menu. The mother and son finished and the cashier guy started doing something and not making eye contact. The woman making coffee drinks was literally 3 feet from me also not making eye contact. I noticed a bunch of muffins and scones behind the counter in gallon zip loc bags haphazardly tossed on wood shelves. It didn’t seem very fresh or that there was much thought or care given to them. I was going to order a hot chocolate and get a sampling of the truffles to go which would have probably been a $ 20 sale on basically nothing. After standing there and being ignored for about 7 minutes I just walked out.

Came here for the first time with my mom on a Sunday afternoon and was happy to discover they have a weekend happy hour! We were able to enjoy the hummus and pita, pretzels and beer cheese dip, chicken alfredo flatbread, and the pear and goat cheese flatbread. I’ll start with the not awesome. I would have preferred the pita be soft, the hummus wasn’t anything special, but was ok and the soft pretzels could have been a little better. It took us a very long time to get our food(but worth it). Also, im glad there was a water dispenser near where we sat because the one guy waiting on the place on a sunday was pretty busy and my water glass would have been empty a long time if I couldn’t refill it myself. They use mason jars for cups, which is a nice touch, so maybe setting a pitcher of water on the table would help with them not having to refill as often. Those few complaints being said the rest of the food was fantastic! The beer cheese dip for the pretzels was great and not too«beer-y» or overpowering. The alfredo sauce for the chicken alfredo flatbread was equally as good without being too rich. And the pear and goat cheese flatbread was fantastic, it had a nice mustard sauce that balanced out the cheese and pear perfectly, also without being over powering. We probably would have been fine with one less dish because we were pretty full, so we just had a couple pieces of the chocolate which were good. The salted caramel wasn’t my favorite because the caramel wasn’t a smooth texture, but the whisky and lemon truffle as well as the mojito truffle were both good pieces of chocolate and not TOO rich like some truffles can be. Overall they take flavors and do them just right, I can’t wait to go back for repeats and to try new things(like their chocolate drinks and their coffee). Also a great place to sit outside with a coffee or glass of wine when the weather is nice and they have a couple fire pits outside for cooler nights, which I think would also be cozy.

Hidden in Cottleville off of the main drag, this quaint setting offers great drinks, coffees, fun foods, and a fabulous atmosphere which lends itself accordingly to Cottleville. A great setting for friends to meet and hang out or stop in after work to unwind, relax, and begin the evening with fun!

Hands down best coffee I’ve found in and around the St. Louis, St. Charles area. Incredible selection of coffee, and brewed to perfection. The bar has nearly anything you could ask for. The baristas and bartenders are friendly, and simply great at what they do. The food is awesome, and while it may be a little pricey, it’s worth it. It has a laid back, trendy atmosphere, great for meetings, studying, or hanging out. Outdoor seating, and fire pits are the bomb. I’m a fan.

What a gem! Now I may be a little biased about this place because my first visit here happened to coincide with a kitchen«test day», so I scored a few free tastes of newly created chocolate truffle flavors. My favorite new flavor concoction was strawberry caramel, which is now offered at the shop. Free chocolate aside though, I still love this place. It has great coffee, pastries, and ice cream in addition to offering a wonderful ambiance for studying, reading, or just surfing the web. I usually come here when I have a day off in the middle of the week, so I can’t speak for weekends or nights, but during the week the shop is filled with sunshine and has a very relaxed feel. I can vouch that VB’s caramel lattes, apricot danishes, bananas foster ice cream, and salted caramel ice cream are fantastic. I have just sampled the ice creams, but am dying to come back for a full serving on a date night soon! The caramel lattes are not too sweet and have perfectly steamed milk. They pair perfectly with any of the homemade pastries too. The treats seem to change day by day but I have seen homemade poptarts, cinnamon rolls, various danishes, etc. I tried an apricot danish that was buttery, flaky, just sweet enough, and overall just plain delicious. This place is also a night destination, which I would like to try out sometime soon but it has just been an afternoon destination for me thus far. They have a pretty big patio that looks like it would be quite nice on a spring/summer evening with good weather.

My husband & I met some friends here on Friday night 3÷20÷15 @ 8:30p. I was excited to try this place as we heard it was great. We sat inside to the left of the entrance & down the stairs in the cramped little space that had people packed in like sardines RIGHT by the bathroom. We had people squeezing to walk by while you get slapped with their purse in the face. Not to mention the patio door kept opening & letting the cold air in and stench of people smoking. First off, the clip board menus aren’t a very original idea as Bailey’s Chocolate Bar in Lafayette Square has been doing this for years in downtown St. Louis. The menu was not helpful by any means, ie: doesn’t describe what is in the drink, food, ice cream, etc… While our waiter was nice, we asked him a few questions and he wasn’t quite sure himself what was in a drink or if some of the items on the menu was a flavored cheesecake or cupcake. Considering there was no mention of cupcakes on the menu, I have no idea how he even got that! How can you have a menu not explain what’s in your items and/or even what they are? Your patrons must be very trusting and you can tell the thought of food allergies/lawsuits haven’t crossed the owners mind(I don’t have any, I know many people who do). My husband ended up ordering a Wedding Cake Martini, while it was good, it could have easily been duplicated at home with the wedding cake vodka and Rumchata I have at home in my own bar. I ended up with The Chocolate Caramel drinking chocolate-a warm drink that may have had a whiskey in it. I got it only because our friend already had it and I tried it, so I figured I’d stay safe since the very busy waiter didn’t have time to explain every ingredient for the drinks on the menu to us. Who knew if we were ordering a warm or cold drink and did it have Baileys, Kahlua, Rum or something else in it? Our friend also asked for a 2nd glass of wine twice and never got it. After a bit we ordered some dessert. I got the Cream Cheese Brownie and hubs got Bananas Foster Ice Cream. They came out immediately and they were not fresh. The brownie was Duncan Hines material, I didn’t even finish it. You would think Bananas Foster ice cream would have bananas and rum sauce ON it, but it was three tiny teaspoon scoops of flavored gritty ice cream, which also wasn’t finished. The waiter was a nice guy, the 2nd star was for him since we were giving him trouble about not knowing what things were and his humor when we asked why there was a table & chair in the single person bathroom. All in all this place is for those people whose cars aren’t able to somehow drive over the bridge to venture to Bailey’s Chocolate Bar. This place has potential if they kick it up a a lot of notches. I hate to bash the owners obvious dream of this place, but I think what it’s become is not the vision in their own head.

This place is so amazing. They have chocolate everything. The service was outstanding. The cinnamon roll was to die for. The S’mores and Chocolate Carmel martini is mouth watering. We even got chocolate treats to being home. Dark chocolate bark with toffee. They also have a huge selection of truffles. The owner is also the owner of Chocolate Chocolate chocolate and hand makes everything. This place is a must go if you haven’t been.

I love everything here. Seriously everything. I’ve tried most of their desert martinis, cheesecake, wines, chocolate… I’m always happy. This past weekend a friend and I sat outside and got the tomato basil flatbread pizza and it was fantastic. Everyone who works here is super friendly. It’s kinda hipster-ish, but not pretentious. I really love coming here in the summer on Friday and Saturday nights. Great atmosphere with the music, fire pits, comfy and cozy seating… One of my favs! You should for sure check it out if you haven’t already.
