Service was ok — food was ok… my husband’s food was burned! We were so upset because we had been driving for at least 7 hours and were very hungry. We’ve had such a great experience at the Cracker Barrel in Colorado, so we though this was a safe restaurant to eat. Don’t go here. There are other places to eat in the area. Try those places instead.

My family and I were on our way back to Colorado and we decided to bed down for night. This place was right next to the hotel. I ordered one of my favorites(Sunday Fried Chicken) and it came out over cooked… burnt and bucket-of-sand dry! Now it was around 8pm when got there and there were only two elderly couples having dinner as well. So to bring out burnt chicken is pretty disrespectful. I mean the place was not at all busy, the waitress had to have seen the obviously burnt chicken, and still brought it out. They offered to bring me another plate of chicken or anything else but if they can mess up on fried chicken with only three customers in the place then no thanks… I lost my appetite. All I can think of… is I’m not white and I’m in Nebraska. The manager didn’t even offer any compensation. Tip: IFYOUDONTHAVEBLONDEHAIRBLUEEYES. DONOTCOMEHERE. Worst Cracker Barrel I ever been to!

I have eaten at this Cracker Barrell a couople of times and always been pretty happy, but recently had a great experience. We took my mom there for her birthday and many of my family joined — there was somewhere between 10 – 12 of us and the service was really good. All of us enjoyed our meals as well as the attention the wait staff provided to us.

Cleanliness 4 Service 4 Food Quality 4 Likelihood 4 1 – 5(5 Best!) 4.0 Breakfast for 4 please. 4 star server(wow, what a difference they make!) As servers gain experience, training, and time on the job, they get more stars for their apron. The more stars, the better the service should be. Generally. Today our server rocked. Food was JUST what we wanted. I think that CB has the BEST pancake of any chain restaurant in the USA. And hearty thick bacon… OHYESPLEASE! This was a great experience, thank you! Good job.

Stopped there on our way from Omaha back to Cedar Rapids. The staff was great. The place was clean and our waitress was awesome. The food was excellent and I would recommend this place to anyone.

Stumbled upon this little café in downtown Council Bluffs! What a surprise! Cute, cozy family run old café! Wait staff was wonderful! Prices are very decent and food quantity is large! I had a skillet with meats, cheese and eggs, plenty of food with a good amount of flavor. I topped it off with nice HOMEMADE salsa! Love supporting local businesses, this one will not let you down!

The last stop for the day! I like coming here, I had the grilled chicken salad. The plate arrived, chicken warm and tender grilled, good! My kid had a fried egg sandwich, and said it was a light lunch good & tasty. Something I like about the council bluffs restaurant than the other west location. Waitress was nice, took 15 minutes to get our food. The serving are a good size. The roaring fire in the fireplace in winter, makes you want to be seated closeby.

I’ve eaten here before and usually the service is okay. It always seems that they don’t have enough servers for the amount of tables. But my wife and I went to Cracker Barrel on a Friday afternoon at around 4pm and we were seated and we just sat there for about 10 minutes without being greeted at all. We saw a couple waitresses walk right past us, with our menu’s on the table, and we were basically ignored. We got up and walked right out.

I really think the quality of this chain has been compromised. So sad, it used to be really good. I ordered a ground beef steak with a side of cottage cheese. The waitress came out and said that she couldn’t find the cottage cheese. Well, if they are having a hard time finding it, i’m glad they didn’t find it. Goodness knows where they misplaced it. My hamburger steak was pan fried in oil, and it came out so greasy. The potato casserole that they are known for, tasted like left overs. Soooo, with that said, I will only return when the selection is between Denny’s and Cracker Barrel, the biscuits at C B are much better than Denny’s. So disappointed.

This review has nothing to do with the service, which was perfect. The FOOD, on the other hand, was simply vile. The meatloaf was dry, crumbly and virtually flavor-free. The kitchen sent out a few crumbled piles of meatloaf on one end of the plate. The accompanying«fried okra» was presented as bizarre soylent green-like pellets piled on the other end of the plate, having no resemblance to anything Nature touched. Again, flavor-free. The chicken liver dinner was gross. Anyone ordering chicken livers knows, at least on a remedial level, how they should be cooked. Whoever cooked these, in the same fryer as the french toast, okra, and God knows what else, has NEVER tasted the horrible output of his/her efforts. If he/she had ever popped one of these dry, cooked-to-a-char finish, he/she would give up cooking(if you can call it that) forever. The only remotely palatable aspect of the turnip greens was the distant flavor of the stringy ham. These watered-down dishes of grossness tasted like they came of out of can – of something else. The«dumplins» were thick ribbons of dried Elmer’s Glue slathered in what might have been, at one time, «gravy». When I can pry this one of the roof of my mouth, I’ll scream. But, like I said, the service was friendly, timely, perfect in every way.

O.K. this is the place that always make my kids happy and I must admit my wife and I also enjoy it. the food is good and consistent, the store is a problem because one of us find something they want every visit it feels. I wish they had WiFi

Absolute rubbish. Worst salad I’ve ever had, I’m a college student so I’ve ate shitty food, and this is right there with it. How in the hell do you screw up a flipping salad? Never coming to another cracker barrel. On the up side the service was quite good, but that’s where it ended.

Like the rest of the Cracker Barrells, this one is a good place to dine at. The souvenir store didn’t have to much of a sports theme like the rest that I’ve been to. The few times that I’ve gone, I have had a positive experience each time. The waitresses are all very nice and attentive. My food took only about 10 minutes to arrive after I ordered, which is really great. This one is like the rest, so if you like chain restaurants, this one won’t disappoint you.

Always good food. You can’t mess up breakfast here! We usually stop for breakfast at a Cracker Barrell when we see one because we know what we are getting.

In a way, the food was almost better than the Cracker Barrell I used to go to in Virginia(How can it be possible given that it’s a chain? Well, don’t ask me.) My server was attentive and polite. I wish the cashier could be a tiny bit more friendly as well. I don’t know. I have always associated Cracker Barrell with warm friendly faces. Perhaps it’s different in the Midwest? Their Fall special dessert, the pumpkin custard with a ginger snap on top, was decent. I think it could use more spice because for most cold desserts, flavor and smell matter a great deal. I also wished the«freshly-baked ginger snap» was warm. The difference in temperature would have created an even more delightful dish.(OK, this is the baker in me speaking. I know I am at Cracker Barrell, not a 3-star restaurant.)

It’s Craker Barrel you should kinda know what your getting in to here. My review score is based on the fact that you know what your looking for. Your looking for Country Breakfast that will get you full and taste pretty decent. Its not anything fancy or unique, just the standards. The fam and I have been here 15+ times over the past 5 years, and its always been a good experience with consistent food.

I’m a big fan of Cracker Barrell… literally, I not only enjoy their food but I’m over 300 lbs with giant man-tits. I ordered lunch here and it was pretty good. A BLT and a giant potato with salt attached all over its skin. The odd part was the«Old Country Store». Every item purchased, by anyone was commented on by the cashier. She had a glassy-eyed, emotionless glare usually reserved for cult members or bad actors playing a hypnoytized person in a b-movie. «I’m so glad you’re buying the peanut butter, it’s the same delicious kind we use right in the restairant. Did you know that?» «Would you like to take home a jar of fried apple filling to put in your pies? It’s the same fried apples we use for our delicious pies right in the restaurant.» No thanks crazy lady. I’ll just take my 10 cent candy sticks.
