This restaurant has, unfortunately been on the decline for years. The food went from good, to «hit or miss» and now, on the poor side. The pizza itself I can only describe as, «Walmart pizza» in that, the quality is that of cheese covered cardboard. The fries have a rubberized texture and, are always ice cold and, the sandwiches are always mediocre at best regardless of which one you order. The prices are about the only thing that is fair and, that is if they get your order right the first time. I can understand a mess up in order once or twice but, with Coventry Pizza, it is almost a guarantee they’ll get your order wrong. Unfortunately, this area of Connecticut has limited places to order pizza from but, you are better going elsewhere or buying frozen pizza.

It’s just ok. The lower tolland county area is a tough place for good pizza. It’s convenient to Home but the pizza falls short. It’s a «Greek» type pizza cut into squares, a practice I simply never understood, but resolved by asking for«pie cut». My biggest problem is for some reason they don’t cook the pie long enough and the cheese is way under cooked and pulls off the slice when you take it. This completely defeats the purpose of pizza, very messy. One shouldn’t have to ask for their pie to be prepared«well done» in order for it to be proper. Please learn how to cook a pizza. On several visits(seven)I’ve tried to like this place but I just can’t, the improperly prepared pizza may be attributed to the illegals employed in the kitchen. Also tried a calzone on one occasion and it was equally bad, asked for a Hamburg calzone assuming it’d be ground beef mixed in, rather it was a full hamburger patty shoved in a calzone, very odd. Place has potential but falls short on poorly prepared food. The search continues for an edible pie in lower tolland county.

The pizza here is better than anywhere and the atmosphere friendly and family orientated. They also offer a terrific breakfast menu Saturday and Sunday morning with a fabulous eggs Benedict that I cant stay away from. Our go-to place always!

Growing up in an Italian town in NJ, I have pretty high expectations of pizza. I must first admit, coming to eastern CT was quite a shock(the pizza is sub-par and more expensive). Now that I have been here a few years, I have adjusted my expectations. My wife and I first moved to Coventry last year. On the day we moved in, we bought pizza from Coventry Pizza Shop. It was horrible. The crust tasted like cardboard, and the pizza in general didn’t have enough salt. In general, I would avoid this place. If you are looking for average pizza in Coventry, go to Dimitri’s. If, however, you are looking for real NY pizza, go to Camille’s in Tolland. Just a 15 minute drive but it is completely worth it.

If you want pizza in Coventry look no further! We frequently get a few large pizzas for work events and sometimes takeout at home and have never been disappointed. Delicious, hot and tasty toppings! Have never dined in.

Ok I buy at an auction house right around the corner and they sell pizza by the slice and it’s amazing(my son will only agree to work this auction due to the promise of pizza slices) So today we came and ate at the restaurant itself service was good and it was the same great pizza the crust was perfectly thick and just crispy enough the sauce(one white one red) was great and full of flavor and quality cheese and topping I highly recommend

The people here couldn’t be nicer. Every time we are greeted with a smile. The people here go above and beyond just being a friendly restaurant. I recently needed to put my car somewhere other than my house to make sure I could get to work the next morning, and they gladly set us up with accommodations. The people here are down to earth and we couldn’t have been more thankful. Thank you so much, Coventry Pizza!(Oh yeah, and the pizza is great too, obviously!)

Perhaps my tastes are borderline snobbish being used to pizza and halal from NYC and Italian food from the North End in Boston. But needless to say, I was pretty disappointed at the meal I consumed at the Coventry Pizza Shop. I get it that the pizza was not NY-style but that wasn’t the problem. The sauce tasted like it came straight from a processed can and the meat on the pizza seemed generic and sub-par as well. The«gyro» I had tasted no better than the frozen stuff you get from a small international grocery store who’s probably had it for too long anyway. I’m sure the staff are nice people hence why this was not a 0 star rating.(I picked up and took out my order) Nonetheless, I probably would not return.

Yummy Meatloaf Special w/mashed potatoes & zucchini cooked perfectly. Salad/soup & garlic bread were outstanding. Service was spot on & friendly. If you haven’t been in a while give them a try it’ll be worth it.

Best pizza I’ve had in a long time, hands down! The appetizers were really good as well. In fact the reason I gave 4 stars is solely based on the food as the service was sub-par. Waited forever for my drink(a terrible glass of Cabernet), had to ask for the additional napkins and silverware we required, asked several times for crackers for the one year old who was very hungry and patiently waiting in her high chair, the appetizers came out about 5 min before the pizza, never got the garlic bread I ordered(and my bad I think we still paid for it), the waitress never asked if we need anything else to drink, never brought water, etc… Also the young lady had apparently no clue that glass dishes, hot items, etc. Have no business being placed directly in front of a small child. Having waitressed for many years at various types of establishments, I try to assess what the situation is(staff levels, crowd, etc) but as nice as our waitress was, there was no reason for the extremely poor service we received. I’ll eat from here again but next time it will be take out.

Our Waitress was amazing(Lisa)! Very friendly, always made sure we had everything we needed. A+ for service. Unfortunately, I ordered the«Shipwreck» but they did not have enough seafood to complete my whole meal. Grinders were delicious. Kind of a regular pizza shop.
