Fat Belly’s Pub Coventry

I lived their wings and TD pizza. I have the buffalo BBQ wings and they were super service was good but not attentive. I would recommend this great pub. (PS.clean your bathrooms)

Not impressed and poor service. Have been a few times and unless it is slow the service has been bad and food poor. If the place is packed, and sometimes it is, it is sometimes impossible to get a drink at the bar unless the bartender recognizes you. They should have less younger bartenders who are scoping females all night. The buffalo wings were badly undercooked and some still frozen inside and after sending them back came back out burnt. Went another time with my mother because she wanted to try it. The mixed drinks we ordered were awful, way too strong and bitter. Then we ordered 4 sandwiches, 2 pastrami and 2 steak. They came out 1 burger and 3 pastrami’s. It took so long to get the wrong order we said we would take it the way it was. We got the bill and it was for what we ordered and not what we got. When we asked about the in correct bill a male server or bartender or manager came over and said he couldn’t adjust after the fact but offered a free beer. Hello, no one in our party was drinking beer. Haven’t eaten there since and stopped a few times to hear a band and always very slow service getting a drink. Either need more bartenders or better ones. Too many other local choices and won’t be back for any more tries.

Went once had burger and truffle fries had a great time. Second time i went and ordered same thing the burger was super greasy and the fries tasted rotten the manager tryed saying that we did not know how they should taste and should not have this item… «that i know was nasty tasting» taken off my order. I did not and could not finish the meal and walked out. Shame on bad management.

The food is always very good and the staff is EVEN BETTER !!! Management is top notch !!! Beware of bad reviews. Some people have their own agenda for wring bad reviews!

It’s football Sunday with the patriots on at 1pm, there’s one bartender and one waitress with 50 patrons. The most incompetent, inept management group I’ve seen anywhere. Food and beverages are good, the service is completely atrocious-​what do you expect. I’ve given this place 4 try’s on Sundays, just waiting for the new Doherty’s to put this establishment out of its misery for good. To bad, there’s a lot of potential-​hire a manger.

My husband and I finally got a babysitter for our infant, so we could go out. The bartender acted like we were a nuisance, and took forever to get our drinks. The couple next to us asked for drinks and he rolled his eyes at them, as if he were put out. I even heard them ask him why he was acting angry towards them, to which he replied he hadn’t slept… well neither have I in months, and I’m not rude to people. All the staff was sitting around eating and making things awkward. so we left. Not a relaxing night out.

We always sit at the bar so the table experience may be different, but it’s always great. The food is really good and the portions are good. The servers are friendly, and did I say the food is good? Plenty of screens for the games and whatever is going on… and the calamari is really good… so are the bbq nacho’s… fries yes… panini’s are good. pizza’s? well. listen fat belly’s… you need to fix that because those flat ass things aren’t pizza’s… but I know you tried. but the burgers etc are all really good…

I only selected 5 stars because there is no option for TEN STARS!!! The service was excellent. You could tell the waitress wanted to do anything to make her tables happy. I ask for water and it was promptly brought to me!!! It was super busy. I asked for water after my delicious drink… a $ 9 success!!! The bartender was also acting as the manager for the night and doing a stellar job! Many of the young employees there are very hardworking and have a willingness to please the customer. I will definitely be going back! And I suggest that Jenna do whatever makes her happy… whether it’s being a kickass server or going to trade school because either way, she’s a fantastic worker. #Jennarocks

I am a big fan of the other Fat Belly’s locations but this one just left me feeling blah. It was packed so I get that service might be slow but it took FOREVER to get a drink at the bar. The bartenders never even came to our side of the bar. They had live music which was interesting but it was really loud… overall, I just had a mediocre experience here and I probably won’t be back.

Love this place. Staff is always amazing. Drinks and food are always on point. Every time I go I order the ranch cheddar bacon fries. Which is Heaven on a plate. Never had a bad experience there and the other customers there are always great and friendly. Highly recommend to try this place.

We spend summers on Johnson’s Pond and thus have had many meals at this Fat Bellys over the past 5 years… in the past 4 years we have always been happy with everything… but something seems to have shifted this past year…
Food takes forever… then cold when it arrives… ingredients listed in the menu aren’t in the items… medium rare burger came out well done… chicken wings came out slimy and pink inside… my usual Lemon Drop Martini is completely different and almost undrinkable!
We are so sad… before this year everything was so consistently yummy… what happened?

Been here a few times for dinner and drinks with family and friends. They seem to have an ‘after work’ crowd and it can get very loud. There are flat screen TV’s around the room, high and low tables, a wall of large windows and carpeting underfoot. One corner in the back is a small stage for a band and there is an area for dancing. This is a larger restaurant than the other two locations I have visited. The beer selection is pretty good but as a wine drinker I didn’t see any wines offered that were ‘good’ and the ones available were priced just a little high.
Our latest stop was for a late dinner, about 8:00pm. The after work crowd was mostly gone and the band was just beginning to set up. Our waitress seemed to be in a hurry to get somewhere each time she stopped at our table. She didn’t want to wait for us to look over the drink menu; instead she left to go hang out at the receptionist station and returned about 5 minutes later. We really only needed like 30 seconds to make the decision but we couldn’t convince her to stay.
Our drinks were delivered amazingly quick and the waitress asked if we were ready to order. We did need more time to review the dinner menu. Food offerings are basic pub style fare: Apps, salads, burgers, pizza, sandwiches and chicken for the most part. We started with calamari which was well cooked and tasty with pepper rings and a warm chunky tomato sauce on the side. My fav ordered the shaved steak sandwich with cheese, onions, mushrooms and peppers and a side salad. I ordered the Pear Gorgonzola side salad and grilled Spinach Pie Pizza without the pepperoni.
My fav has had a lot of shaved steak sandwiches and this one he really enjoyed. It was not greasy, the veggies were cook just a little so they had a bit of a crunch to them and the bread was soft. There was plenty of steak and a nice balance of cheese and veg: not too much. The side salad, served on the same plate, was generous and comes dressed.
The Pear Gorgonzola salad is a nice combination of flavors. It’s mostly a large bed of dressed mixed lettuces with three large red onion slices, a few croutons, a bit of Gorgonzola sprinkled over the top and pear slices around the edge of the bowl. A very pretty presentation. I wish there was just a bit more cheese, and a couple more onions. For a side salad the portion is generous but I ended up with a bowl of lettuce pretty quickly.
The Spinach Pie Pizza definitely relies on the pepperoni for flavor. A white pizza with a nice distribution of cooked spinach and black olives covered in cheese. (I took most of it home and added some garlic powder and oregano and it was very nice.)
After the food arrived the waitress stopped by to ask if we needed anything and then disappeared. She did return (quickly) to drop off a pizza box toward the end of our meal and again to ask if we would like another drink after we had boxed up the pizza. A bus boy came by and grabbed the empty salad bowl I had placed at the edge of the table and also removed the plate of pizza I was eating from in front of me! Guess I was done.
Once the band began to play it was impossible to hold a conversation but they were very good and we stayed and enjoyed the music. The disappearing waitress is an anomaly in my experience at this Fat Belly’s but the bus boy also seemed to be ‘hit and run’ that night so I wonder if management is telling them to ‘be quick’. It was not overly busy when we arrived and the waitress spent a good deal of time at the reception desk when she could have been making her customers feel welcomed and improved the quality of the experience. All in all I do recommend this place for a drink, a quick bite and live entertainment on the weekend.

I don’t know what has happened to this fat belly’s, but the food gets an F-​! Ordered a cup of French onion soup, it was so salty it was uneatable. Yuk! Pizza, had more grease than a stick of butter. Horrible food. Owners better wake up and get rid of who ever is trying to cook for them.
If your looking for good food, skip Fat Bellys in Coventry. Horrible.

The food is always good! Try an order of the BBQ chicken nachos they’re killer or if you are looking for some comfort food, the Shepard’s Pie is great too!

Decent food. Not really a varied menu. Burgers, thin pizza and some salads. Overpriced, for what amounts to bar food. There are other options nearby that are better and cheaper if you aren’t there to drink. Friendly service. Can be loud, as it is more bar than restaurant. TVs really need updating.

All of their locations are different in quality this one was not impressive at all. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and if it wasn’t for the sauce on it it would be dry and gross. A good maybe 3 inches of the chicken was hard as a rock not even edible. Next the fries well right off the bat were obviously frozen and soggy I will not go here again definately don’t get what you pay for and ps THEY CHARGE EXTRA FOR EVERY SIDE INCLUDING FRIES!!! don’t go Here

Pros:
Good environment, service was very nice, some strangers even suggested beers since we are from out of town trying some local beers always a good experience.
Cons:
Very crowded, loud
Me and the Wife only got drinks and an apatizer, didn’t dine here, but looked interesting

This review is directed more towards management and whoever does the scheduling. It is a national holiday (president’s day) and they only scheduled one bartender and one waitress. The bartender is working very hard, running around like crazy and basically running the restaurant. I ordered a Guinness 20 minutes ago, I still haven’t gotten it. It’s not her fault, she’s working hard, but it’s just crazy how unbelievably slow the service is because of the horrible staffing that management has done for the day. Time to wake up.

Went last night with a group of 10 at 9pm. Place was not packed.
Food was a joke. I ordered a $ 10 burger. Not fresh, patty was cold, and was pre-​made from a box. Lettuce & a tomato was all that had come on it. Fries, I asked for well done, they came soggy and cold. Across the table, fries were cold, and other sides were cold. Took well over 35 minutes for food to come out.
Waitress was horrible. Didn’t remember orders, and what got me the most was that she left all of the bills, WITH credit cards at the end of the table in a pile! She said «I don’t know who all these go to, so I’m putting them here». When all was said and done, she came to me with the receipts in a pile and I had to sort them out. DO YOUR JOB! Do it yourself.
So food was terrible, prices were very high priced for what you were receiving, and service was poor and slow.
Take pride in your work young lady, quit talking about working at 3 other jobs and how you went to dentist school, stop being lazy with your tables and work harder. Next time, but not from me for sure, you’ll hopefully get higher than a $ 4 tip on a $ 60 bill.

My honeymoon with Fat Belly’s is over… I think their time of trying hard for a new community is also fading. I think they have their standard crowd and have established themselves in town.
This last time I had an ‘Okay’ experience… other than the bartender that obviously didnt care that i was there giving me my check before i was done ‘oh, i didn’t know you wanted another’…did u ask?
I visited the following week and had my cash laying next to my empty beer signaling that maybe I wanted to leave and it took 15 minutes and the bar tender passed by a few times before noticing. ‘You all set?‘
One visit I can’t stay and have a few and the next I can’t leave.
