I’ve been going to Sunshine Nails for about a year or two now. The first time I went was on a whim only because it was close to where I lived. I do agree that the wait is a little long at times, but usually when I go it’s when I don’t have any other commitments so I don’t get too frustrated. Also, when it’s busy they try to manage their time by having one person prep your nails before handing you off to someone else to finish, which might be an inconvenience to some, but I don’t mind at all. I personally enjoy going to them, and even after I moved a good 25 extra minutes away, I still find myself making the trip and going back every time. I get a lot of compliments on my nails, and I always tell my friends to check them out!

Are you the type of person who likes variety in your life? If you call a taxi, do you like for your driver to stop a quarter of the way through your ride to switch drivers? At a restaurant do you like to start eating your meal and be told to switch tables? If so, Sunshine Nails is the place for you! I wanted to be optimistic about this place. I really did. That’s probably why I tried going there for a few months before I totally gave up hope. Every single time, appointment or not, something would interrupt my pretty basic gel manicure. Now, I’m not unreasonable. I understand that certain things are bound to happen. Sure, if my nails need to soak so you can remove the gel, I understand you not hovering over me like a helicopter. Leaving me halfway through applying polish to start a walk in pedicure and pawning me off on someone who just came back from a cigarette break? No thank you. Next time you drive by Sunshine and consider stopping in, I would suggest instead taking a pot of OPI over to Fat Belly’s next door and have a stranger paint your nails. At least you could get drunk.

I got my nails done there and during it the man Doing my nails kept staring at my pinky like he had done something wrong. Four days after my pinky was red, swollen and infected. I was in so much pain. I went and the doctor had to stick two needles in my finger and rip not only the acrylic off but my actual nail. That’s not even the bad part. I went back to the salon and they told me that they couldn’t do anything because I didn’t know the name of the infection, she also made me feel stupid going there and basically blamed it on me. I have gone to many nail salons and not ever had a problem. I will never go back there again and I will make sure none of my friends do. I paid 40 dollars for my nail to be ripped off.

Do you enjoy dirty towels laying by pedicure chairs? Do you love washing your hands beside buckets of cleaning supplies? Do you long to have your manicurist cough and blow his nose through out your manicure? Then Sunshine Nails is the place for you? The entire nail salon looked grungy and metal instruments were pulled out of drawers making me question the hygiene of the salon. It was a bare bones gel manicure. No niceties. No hand protection from the UV lamp, no hand massage at the end. To top it off, the price was much more than I expected considering the level of service I received. I would NOT recommend it.

The technicians here do a great job on manicures and pedicures. Prices are competitive with the area. Be prepared to wait 20 – 30 mins, even if you have an appointment.
