Great place next to the Bike Path, but they are now closed for the winter season. Check back in early Spring

This is a clean, cute place with good service. The «blue wahoo» hot dog is delicious and I will return for more!

Stopped by there for the first time. What a great surprise. Baseball team themes for the hot dogs. The rolls are not typical and are baked on the premises. They are almost a kaiser type and great for holding the enormous. I got the Philly cheese steak with onions and pepper (and hot dog) on a homemade dog roll. It was outstanding. The staff is helpful, the place is clean and the ambiance is fit for any age group. I’ll be back.

I was doing a long bike ride yesterday and needed to ingest some carbs to tackle the hills I was going to climbing a bit down the road. I’ve ridden by this place numerous times over the last year, and decided that it was time to check it out. The inside has a baseball theme, which goes perfectly well seeing as it’s a hot dog shack. It’s clean and they have a pretty creative assortment of hot dog combinations. I settled on a chili & cheese dog which came on a homemade bun, which was outstanding in taste and texture. The chili too, was very tasty with good chunks of ground beef in a slight sweet, chili sauce. I’ll defintely come back in the future.

I am very picky with the restaurants or food places that I give good reviews to. Even more so when it comes to taking the one to write a review: it needs to be amazing or horrible. Luckily, the DogHouse Café is the prior!
My husband and I decided to finally try this place heading back from one of our bike rides. He ordered the Shortstop and I got the Detroit Coney. WOW! The flavors of the coney chili were spot– on, and the meat was of good quality with no gristle (nothing can ruin a chili like gristle does). The bun was delicious, and held up to the chili on top of the dog. The hot dog was perfectly cooked, and the brand that they use is not a super-​salty style. The added bonus today was being given free water bottles since we were bikers and its national biking month. In terms of the staff, they were incredibly polite and courteous– making our decision to stop all the better.
If you are considering stopping in at this gem, do it! I will very likely be coming back on a biweekly (if not weekly) basis.

As a previous review said, the place looks much nicer than the previous business. The food is great! I don’t recall the name of the hotdog I had but it was wrapped in bacon then topped with Mac n Cheese and covered with Fritos. AMAZING and it only cost around $ 4. The only problem I saw was the lack of variety. I understand it’s a hotdog place but that’s all the human food they sell besides muffins and probably bagels. Nothing else cooked. I truly hope this place lasts but I just don’t think it will unless they add a few simple things to the menu like hamburgers or a side dish of Mac n Cheese. The homemade dog treats are a great addition. Overall AWESOME hotdogs and great service in a clean and welcoming atmosphere but the menu lacks variety. If all you want is a hotdog or some dog treats then this place is perfect.

I love how they remodeled inside. It looks really nice, and the baseball theme was a good idea with Paine Field right there. They had advertised their fresh frozen lemonade, but were all out. However, we went in only the second day that they were open and the only customers in there. Also, they do not sell any fries to go with the hot dogs, which is a bit disappointing. We sat down inside to eat our food, and the owner’s son stood over our table the entire time. He was a nice kid, however I do not necessarily want to be watched while I am eating. Lastly, we waited ten minutes for our hot dogs and all of them were cold. The buns, however, were absolutely delicious. It is an okay start for the place, but there definitely needs to be some changes made.

The place looks much cleaner since they redid the inside. Thank God cuz it used to be a dump! The hot dog was very good. They have different kinds to try. I went conservative. Just a plain one with ketchup and mustard. The hot dog was huge, biggest dog I have ever seen. The buns were so good. I also got the large peanut butter and oatmeal dog treats for my dogs and they loved them. They are all natural and made by the owner which is even better! Worth the experience.
