Being from California, I’ve never had anything like a NY System Weiner and I was hooked upon first bite. Now I have to have them every time we visit family here in Little Rhody. They’ve taken me to a few locations for them that may be busier or more popular, but I prefer this place to them all although I’m not sure why, might be the meatsauce. Go «all the way» to taste them as intended. The price is right, the food tastes great, and the staff is attentive. They got an extra star for their take on cell phones!

I may be a bit biased, as my father has been taking me to WeinORama since I was 18 months old, but this is still one of my favorite joints. Anytime I get to Cranston, it’s a must stop. I swear, I don’t think the staff has changed in 30 years. George is always there to greet you when you come in, and thank you for coming when you leave. The waitresses are friendly, and have NEVER gotten my order wrong in over 35 years. I always get the same thing – 3 no onions, fries and a coke. Never a bad meal. Just be sure you know how to order before you go in! :)

Best weiners worldwide in a clean and friendly atmosphere. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The food is top notch. Many daily specials. Countertops and tables thoroughly wiped down after each customer. Two, count ‘em, 2, busboys. What? Yup. Busboys, that CLEAN the tables /countertops. The owner is always interacting with customers, you can tell that he is proud of his establishment. There are other weiner places in RI but only one Wein-o-Rama.

YUM! This place is delicious. It’s a older set up, but the food especially the wieners are«to die for».(Very good). It is very popular and I have on multiple occasions seen lines out the door. They serve breakfast as well as lunch and all the staff are very friendly. I have been here before and still continue to go without a issue. I would have gave it 5 starts, but I feel that it is a downfall because they only take cash only. That is inconvenient for many customers. Overall the food is good and friendly staff, it’s not overpriced I highly recommend to give it a try!!! Thumbs up!

Wein-O-Rama’s not bad at all. It’s just that there are better options so close that I prefer going elsewhere. I’ve actually dined here more often for breakfast than for gaggers, Each breakfast I’ve had is a typical greasy mess. That’s what I expect, and that’s what I want, but right up the street, Miss Cranston does it better. The weiners are okay, but they’re not the best in the state. Again, right up the street, Olneyville NY System is superior. The difference is in the meat topping, which seems less tasty at Wein-O-Rama. The interior has a certain charm that most of the weiner joints share, and chintz is what I want when I go to a place like this.

Wein-O-Rama has the best wieners in Rhode Island. The setup and design is very old and out dated since this place has been running strong for over 50 years. This place can get busy very fast but when you are seated your order is taken right away and the food comes in literally Two minutes. Not even joking. You basically are in the restaurant for ten minutes it’s that quick when it’s busy. The hot dogs and fries and the best I ever had and if your around the Cranston area go to this place it is awesome. The staff and waiters are extremely nice and friendly and a great place to come to now in then.

I have been going to Wein-O-Rama since 1967. In the 70’s I could get 6(weiners, aka gaggers), a small fry, and a large coffee milk or soda for less than $ 5. For a $ 1.05 you could get two eggs, hash browns and toast.(99 cents plus tax) It hasn’t changed much, just a few more grey hairs and a few more pounds after they have served the community for over 50 years. The continue to support the locals. Today was my first time back in about a year, last time I got 3 just sauce to go and the were better than ever. I was having breakfast with two friends I have know since I was 5 years old and we have been going to weinorama for just as long. I am sure nostalgia and being with my old friends had something to do with it, but as always I wasn’t let down. We all got 2 eggs, hash browns, wheat toast, and they had bacon while I had sausage. Now my friends can talk and were telling story after story, by the time I was barely half way done they were already ordering 2 each all the way. The whole time I was thinking can it really be this good. The eggs were over easy, cooked to perfection. They were so light and flavorful. Plenty of delicious hash browns and my dry wheat toast was toasted to perfection. The sausage was very tasty like I remember from the olde days. I took my time and enjoyed every bite. The coffee always taste good and hot. When I finished they where already done. I needed to get in on this and ordered 1 just sauce. It was so good, the soft steamed bun, the tasty dog along with the most delicious meat sauce. I am not sure how they do it. They only difference from most of the N.Y. systems is there weiners are individual, were as everyone else seems to use one big long weiner cut down to size. The same family have been the owners and operators as well as doing the cooking since 1962. If you are ever traveling down R.I. Route 5 on Oaklawn Avenue approaching the Warwick line it’s a must stop, even for just 1 to go. You won’t be disappointed.

Nothing against Onleyville NYS, and those that swear by it, but I just find this place a couple notches above NYS… Just saying.

My boyfriend took me here after an early morning hunting trip and I thought he was crazy but I had a great egg sandwich and the coffee was good, fresh and hot. It was obvious they had a lot of breakfast regulars. Attentive, friendly staff. Small but relatively clean bathrooms. Very family oriented.

As a former Rhode Islander who lives in Fla, I’m always thinking of hot wieners when I return to visit. Many of the places I remember are now gone or have changed from what I remember. Here I get the experience of a New York System wiener joint if old. Just brings back memories. The place is nice. The people were friendly. The food is how I remembered from 20+ years ago. This is my regular wiener fix stop when I visit. My one criticism is that the wiener sauce had too much nutmeg in it. The fries rings and oh yes, the ice coffee were right on the money. Note that seating is geared for parties of 4. I love the counter service, like I said before, ahh the memories. I will be back.

Fast and clean! That is the best description for this place. The wieners are really good. Like a lot of wiener places they use little rhody winers. I prefer the ones that are cut on the ends. I have never had anything here except for the wieners. But all the other food looks fresh and tasty. I understand they also have a great breakfast. This is a true Rhode Island experience.

This place is a staple for quality hot wieners layered with fresh ingredients and paired with fries doused in malt vinegar and a cold glass of coffee milk. Classic Rhode Island faire. WeinORama has been around for a long, long time. On weekends, the line can be out the door because regulars know where the good food is.(I didn’t say it was healthy, but damn it’s tasty.) I always order 2 all the way and by the time I’m halfway through my 2nd one, I’m needing zantac, but it’s worth it.

Wein-O Rama is the second coolest name of a hot dog place I know. The Gold Medal still goes to Super Duper Weinie in Fairfield, CT. But seriously, Wein-O-Rama is quite the epic name, isn’t it? I had a business meeting in Warwick tonight, and needed to check into the hotel and go to my meeting site and make sure I had the AV equipment working, so I was motivated to get to Rhode Island early. Those circumstances also gave me the chance to stop here for lunch. So I walk in a little after noon on a Thursday and the first thing I notice is that this place is SLAMMED busy. Crowded. Noisy. I mean every booth and table maxed out. A few single counter stools were open, so I grabbed one by the register. I see eight people running around behind the counter — 4 guys cooking, a few waitresses running around, and an older woman who alternated between ringing up orders and watching everything else like a hawk. I got one dog with sauce and onions, one dog with everything, a side of slaw, and a soft drink. Ran a little over $ 8. I enjoyed the dogs, but just as a matter of preference I thought the onion taste was a little too strong. The dogs were very good, nice taste, and snap factor. One odd thing –as busy as they were made it easy to explain a little snafu I experienced. When more than a few minutes passed after I ordered, my server asked the cook where the dogs were. He said he made them and put out for pick-up. Turns out a different serve grabbed them(the orders were slightly different) so customer A didnt get what they ordered and Customer Me had a little extra wait. So as succesful as this place is(45+ years in the biz) they can still use a little tightening up of the ordering process. It’s a cool place to visit just because its a local institution and the whole experience is a real spectacle to behold. Not sure if that translates into wanting to go back. I think once might be enough.

I’ve eaten a LOT of hot weiners in Rhode Island(only in RI though, I don’t think any other place in the world sells them.) I could eat a hot wiener almost anywhere in RI, and believe me, I pretty much have. SO, as hot wieners go, I can only say that Wein-O-Rama’s weiners are really Meh.(I’ve experienced better!) I can’t even put my finger on what the deal is with their wieners — they are just missing a certain je né c’est quoi(ie, not sure what they are missing, can’t put my finger on it!!) I didn’t feel as if I were eating much of anything and they just sort of disappeared down my mouth without my feeling any passion for it. Perhaps they weren’t salty enough, perhaps not enough celery salt — not enough onions? Not enough sauce? Not enough wiener? Go figure. One day I went there with friends and downed three in a row. Wasn’t feeling it. Good wieners usually give a boost to my seratonin — these did not. I have had breakfast at Wein-O-rama(it’s kind of like a diner — perhaps it actually is a diner) and the food was pretty good. I am here to rate the wieners, which I guess is unfair since they sell a ton of other things on their menu. I am giving them a three — I would give them two stars for the wieners, but I’ll give an extra star for the rest of the menu. I do remember thinking that other food items I’ve had there were decent. AND I see that others, for the most part, have given this wiener joint four and five stars so maybe it’s me. I just don’t know what else I can say about this place. So that’s all I’m saying.

If you stop by Cranston on your way to New York, don’t bother eating another dog the rest of your trip. I know how prideful New Yorkers are about their Papaya and Coney Island dogs, but they don’t hold a candle to Wein-o-rama. We got most New York dogs beat over here at Fab’s hotdogs in the San Fernando Valley, but we don’t have nuthin’ like Wein-o-rama. Don’t be turned off by the weird stares you get from the parking lot, these folks don’t need to be on the food network or have Guy– whatever– his– name– is stopping by, once you get inside its all good, just don’t act like some weird foodie tourist, put the camera away. Pops used to have people mail him weiners from this place and I’ll tell you, they taste just as good after a 3000 mile trip to Cali as they do sitting at the counter.

A staple in RI food — I’ve been here nearly every Saturday of my life. My grandfather and father used to take me, now my father and I continue to take my son. The owners, Ernie & George greet everyone in the door. Having seen nearly everyone in the state, they have a great reputation with their loyal patrons. The wieners are not the typical«ny system» style which sometimes have overlooked skins or fall apart in the buns. These are juicy, flavorful and the buns are the freshest around. Their staff is great! I’ve watched several of their workers grow up within the business and some if them have seen me grow up as a patron — as many have been there since I can remember. If you head in on a Saturday at lunch time, expect a bit of a wait. But it is well worth it. Don’t forget to grab a gum ball on the way out!
