Amazing food people! Second time here, and not disappointed! Quaint spot — bringing the flavor of Northern Italy to Covina! Service is outstanding-portions are perfect… With room for amazing desert! Gotta try the Lasagna. it’s not the Lasagna your momma made! The cheese just melts in your mouth, the boulonaise sauce is outstanding! Love on a plate!

Very relaxing atmosphere and friendly service with an attentive proprietor. The clams Bolognese was terrific along with the rest of the menu. Everything is freshly prepared by a real chef and not a short order cook. Very authentic tastes. Good wine selection too.

Okay, so I’m looking for a GOOD Italian place in Covina and stumbled here. Wish I had better balance – the only reason I gave this restaurant 2 stars is the pizza! We had several entrees, pizza, pasta, Lasagna. OMG, the Lasagna,(even Stouffers can kick their ass here). It was ABOMINABLE !!! I wouldn’t serve it to my trashcan! Pizza saved the night. Service is very good. But for a $ 100 ticket for 3 small dishes, I’d definitely go elsewhere!

This little Italian restaurant was a big surprise for us. It’s not really big and the music they play doesn’t really match but the food was great. The bread in the beginning was amazing. It was soft and flavorful. Combined with the olive oil and basmatic vinegar complemented each other. I had a salad and my husband had the parmesian chicken. The salad was big and tasty. The chicken wasn’t breaded like we are use to but it was still good. We also had a tiramisu and it was OK. Too much cocoa powder on top and it was a bit pricy($ 6). The prices on the meal were good and the portions were big. We’ve had real Italian food before in Italy and although it’s not the same… it’s close to it. I would recommend it.

Celebrated a friends birthday… we called ahead… asking if it was ok to bring balloons… no problem they said… When we arrived they had a table by the window ready for is the kind of place where you want to order a bottle of wine… take it easy… start with their freshly baked bread… then after a. Oppose of glasses… a couple of appetizers.:crostini was unbelievable… move on to a salad… the beet salad was fresh and amazing… then another bottle of wine, maybe… and order your entrée… fresh made…(no Costco freezer bag tortellinis or ravioli so here)… Not just your usual mozzarella here… we’re talking lobster stuffing… pecorino…all the way to your basic divine pizza with basil. olive oil… and any of the delicious goodies you want… The service was impeccable… Finished our meal with the best tiramisu .I e ever tasted… my friend had a fabulous birthday and the rest of the gals… and I even asked for extra bread to dip into the sauce left on our plates… deliciousness… I can’t wait to bring the hubby… maybe then I’ll post some food pics… it was so good… we all jumped in… forgot the food pics…

Both the food and the service was excellent. My family was pleased with all the food, but the one of our favorites was the risotto balls. They were crunchy on the outside and nice and creamy on the inside. I would definitely come back and try other things on the menu. Overall, the food was fabulous and the service was exquisite.

Delicious cheese tortellini! Have had it twice now. They could give more bread at the table. I would recommend this place to most people.

Saw previous post regarding hours: Attention they close from 3−5pm. We got there at 5:10pm. Loved this place! Went in for a mom/daughter date and it was the perfect place. Food was delicious, ambiance was perfect(quiet, nice décor, and cozy) and didn’t feel stuffed like at other Italian restaurants. The best Italian food I’ve had. Food: Chicken Pesto Pizza — Delicious! Thin crust and the flavor was melting in my mouth. Eat it warm! Lobster Ravioli — Delicious!!! Pasta was perfect, thin and full of Lobster. Sauce was Delicious. I even dipped my pizza crust in this sauce it was so good. Dessert: Affogato — I’ve had this at other places but truly enjoyed this one. The expresso was not super strong which blended well with the ice cream. Tiramisu — great flavor, light and perfect with a cup of coffee. Service: Excellent!!! Staff were great!!! Ever attentive! Overall great place for a nice quiet dinner!!! Or just for a drink at the bar. Next time I’ll bring my husband for a drink and sit at the bar.

We came here on a cold Saturday night — surprisingly with no crowd to beat! Service was good and I think it was the owner who was very welcoming and friendly to us ! I ordered the pesto chicken pizza: wrong choice ! I should have ordered the marguerita pizza like last time! Hubby ordered the spaghetti with clams — he said he liked it! Over all — its not too bad! The ambiance was great! Try it and feel the friendly service: food maybe the second reason: it’s all good

I came in on a Sunday afternoon with my husband to have some lunch. This was our first time here, the ambiance and service are great. The food was delicious as well! We ordered the chicken parmigiana and the sausage bolognese and the portions were great, l and the flavor too. We had the tiramisu for dessert and that was tasty! We would definitely recommend this little spot!

A friend recommended Pane e Vino. AMBIANCE: I found it very quaint, cozy and relaxed atmosphere. There is a nice bar on one side and tables along the side. It’s good for dinner with the girls, date night, lunch and dinner. Good music playing in the background. You can dress up or down and fit right in. Nice vibe. Overall, very nice. STAFF: The staff was very friendly and enthusiastic(which I really like to see in people) about the restaurant and menu. They provided wonderful customer service. The waiter was very attentive and friendly. The sous chef came to our table to introduce himself and wen over the specials in great detail and enthusiasm(earned a point with me!). MENU: The menu is well rounded — Northern Italy cuisine. there is something for everyone. The prices was fair and reasonable. The ingredients and process taken to create their higher quality food was appreciated and enjoyed. To start, I ordered the spinach salad. It was delicious and a good portion. For my entrée, I ordered the lobster ravioli. The pasta was very fresh and cooked perfectly. As for the lobster, it was perfect. Fresh tasting, The sauce was flavorful, yet not overpowering, good consistency, not heavy — perfect. I believe the sauce it was served with was lobster bisque. It was garnished with roasted or sautéed grape tomatoes — yummy.

A hidden gem. Authentic Italian food. Great for date night. I didn’t even order off of the menu. We simply asked the young Italian man what he suggest and presto! I don’t know how you could go wrong at this place.

Where to begin… well first I would like to say is that the food is to die for! My bf and I were looking for food to take home and have at home date night, so there I go looking on Unilocal and this place caught my eye with all those fabulous plates making my mouth water. I called and ordered take out and the server was very sweet with me so I took it as a good sign so far. As we get to the restaurant I noticed it was in downtown Covina which we always pass by constantly but the place never stood out. When you walk in its elegant looking and has a big bar which pretty much takes up the restaurant but I liked the set up. The service was amazing just for being take out, the owner told me that he had a new guy making the pizza and he didn’t like the way our pizza came out so he decided to make us a new one, one that we deserved which was the Fennel Sausage Pizza! So because we had to wait for our pizza they told us to sit down and got us drinks while we waited… again really great service! Now for the best part, The FOOD! It was so amazing, aside from ordering the Fennel Sausage, we also orders the Lasagna. The lasagna was so perfect it just melts in your mouth. I can’t remember tasting a more delicious lasagna plate. As for the pizza it was so delicious I can’t wait to eat the leftovers! I will definitely be coming back but next time I’m eating there because I really loved the service!

I have a gripe with Unilocal sometimes, because of either false hours or whatnot. But I purchased a Unilocal deal here($ 10 for $ 20) back when they had that deal. Came on a Sunday at 11 and discovered a lock and no one inside really wanted to unlock that lock. Okay. Fast forward 6 months later. Come on a Wednesday at 3pm, finds a lock. They really like locks, don’t they? We find out they close from 3 – 5 for a break and dinner starts at 5. So next time up I decide to come on a Wednesday at 1130. Because if they’re not open then, then they just really want me to enjoy that lock. But they are finally open and I can sit inside. It’s kinda dark, no one else in there, greeted by who I can believe to be an Italian man, who would be our server for the day. We got a free bread appetizer that I’ve had better elsewhere. The good thing is olive oil + vinegar is a godsend. You get to enjoy the tastes that those 2 place together. Ordered the lasagna. Heavy. But good. Like really good. Like authentic Italian good. It looked nice and had the green skin, so I would assume they had pesto. But the amount of cheese in there meshes really well with the meat sauce and is so rich. Oh. I don’t know how to describe it: P It’s insanely good. My friend ordered the fusilli, which is corkscrew pasta, eggplant, smoked mozzarella, tomato. I tasted it. It’s also heavy. But also good. Why must Italian food be so good. My friend decided we must go for dessert. But we’re full. It’s okay. Second stomach time! Triple Chocolate cake. Just saying it and with the rest of the review, you realize it’s gonna be rich, good, and make you so full xD Prices are $ 12-$ 18 per dish, so you can get the Unilocal deal for ONE person if you choose an antipasta/appetizer + meal, or meal+dessert.(:

So I came here with my sister just because she wanted Italian d: wasn’t really craving it but here’s what went down: –customer service by the waitress Candice I believe was super excellent. She’s so nice and does her job at a fast pace –ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and caprese –the caprese sandwich was(from a 1 – 10) a solid 6. The bread wasn’t crunchy and baked fresh, but rather stiff. My sis said her spaghetti was undercooked a tad bit, meatballs were delish — the fries that came with the sandwich were super yummy.(Had to add salt for flavor lol) but they were crunchy and had a tender inside. The desert which was some custard ice cream was the only dish that stood out most. It was sooooo good Atmosphere is nice and chill. –prices are a bit over set. So you overpay. Portions are for individuals and are great. Overall I would say the experience was great, although I wish my sandwich was fresh rather than pre made.

Came here because we had a Groupon, and I noticed that it had 76 reviews with and average of 4.5 stars. So, I thought this must be a great place. I don’t know if I came in with high expectations or it was an off night, but i was definitely disappointed. I was looking over the wine list and wasn’t too familiar with the wines. My wife ordered the chardonnay(i forgot what it was) which was pretty dry and wouldn’t recommend. The thing that really set the mood was that the server brought it out in a whisky glass. Since he did not attempt to explain why the wine is being served in a whiskey glass, and not a wine glass, I took the assumption that this is the restaurant’s norm. I love charcuterie, and was looking forward to ordering it. Actually they call it cold cuts. I tried ordering it, and the server said that they no longer have that dish. What a bummer. We ordered the crostini which is basically bruschetta. IT was very good, but they only gave us 5 pieces of crostini, which left us with a lot of the tomato topping left over. For the main course we ordered the bolognese pasta and their special spaghetti alle vongole. the bolognese pasta was pretty good. The spaghetti alle vongole was a little disappointing. I could really taste the saltiness of the clams and had 2 that weren’t opened, which was a little concerning for me, especially after one of the clams I ate tasted so horrid that I had to spit it out. Low and behold later on in the night I had a really bad stomach ache. Pros: The food came out pretty quickly even when the kitchen got slammed. They have a good beer list. Cons: A little disappointing to have wine served in a whiskey glass. The food was okay, nothing to really rave about and the potions were somewhat small. I felt like the restaurant has more of a bar type of feeling to it rather than an italian restaurant. I wasn’t digging the paper napkins. They should update their paper menus, especially since there was a bunch of stains on them and they no longer have certain items. Our server could have paid more attention to finer details, like setting up our table before our course came out.(replacing the silver ware, bringing out a bowl with a spoon before my spaghetti vongole comes out etc.) Overall: I probably will not be coming back here. I think one of my biggest problems was that I came in here with too high of expectations. I saw the 4.5 rating and immediately set the bar high. Infact I am really not too sure how they got such high ratings, especially with some 1,2 and 3 star ratings. The food was okay not great, and wasn’t pleased when i found 2 shells that weren’t opened and later on had a bad stomach ache. I feel like the restaurant is still quite new, and they need to work out some kinks, and get more funding. Serving wine in a whiskey glass is not acceptable for me, especially when the restaurant has wine tastings, and free corkage on some days. Who knows, this place may have wine glasses and they just ran out, but regardless our server, served the wine in a whiskey glass to us, as if it was the norm.

I was in town for the day visiting family and we decided to head down to old town Covina for some dinner. I didn’t realize how many places close so early, this area needs some love, luckily Pane E Vino was full of love this Sunday! The sign said it was closing but they stayed open for their customers, I love it! We were immediately greeted by the gracious owner and given a background of the restaurant as well as great detail of the menu. After listening to his mouth watering choices I had to try the Bolognese and I am very glad I did. I also ordered the prosciutto pizza as an appetizer for all of us and it was really really good. The rest of my family ordered the tortellini with chicken, spaghetti and meatballs, meatball sandwich with garlic and parasean fries, chicken parm and the chicken cesar salad. Everyone was very satisfied with their dish. Toward the end of the meal the owner brought us some risotto balls to try and oh my were those delicious. The prices were very reasonable, they offer beer and wine, service was attentive and genuine. I’m always a supporter of small business owners so help keep this place going and check’em out.
