Big Lots is a great place to find deals.
Because there are deals to be had, they are frequently out of stock on popular items.
On my most recent trip I was looking for some outdoorsy things. Big Lots had an excellent selection of outdoor furniture and awnings for very reasonable prices.
I picked up a 9 foot umbrella for $ 35. It is very well made and was marked down from $ 50. Unfortunately they were out of bases.
The selection isn’t as good as a Home Depot, but their prices seemed much better.
The employees weren’t overly helpful, but I guess you can’t have everything.
If you’re in the market for outdoor products, I recommend this location.

What happened to Big Lots? It used to be fun to go in and see what was new. They seem to have shifted from mostly closeouts and discontinued items to their own stock. Very little changes from week to week. You do better shopping at the big «marts» for those types of items.
