This is my go to place. I have never been disappointed. Food is consistently good and ALWAYS fresh. Alot of the food is made in house with quality ingredients and it’s the reason people keep coming back. My biggest pet peeve with alot of restaurants is the lack in food prep and laziness in the kitchen, BUTTHISPLACEDOESITRIGHT! The staff is always great and helpful. The sandwiches are unique, full of flavor and never greasy or dry. My fav items are the Odyssey Chicken Sandwich, Veggie-filled Roasted Sweet Potato and the Caribe salad. My husband loves the burger. It’s always cooked right. My kids love the grilled cheese. We always compare new lunch spots to Coffee Rani and usually Coffee Rani wins. The only negative thing I have to say is that the desserts are way overpriced.

First time here. We had lunch on a Saturday. Crowded but not crazy. They got us our food quickly and everyone had a great meal. When in Covington, we will stop here again.

LOVE this place! I come here with my family all the time. Consistently great food and friendly service. Their drink choices are really great: lots of varieties of iced teas to chose from and coffee drinks. Their iced coffee is the best! They also have a dessert case by the register. Loaded with lots of different pastries, cakes, cookies, etc from a local bakery. i’ve eaten lots of things from the menu and I’ve enjoyed all of them. The salads are huge, really fresh and delicious. The sandwiches come with choice of chips or potato salad. Both are great… but the potato salad is super yummy… and they add a pickled okra to your plate. which I love! They have daily specials and soups to chose from. I recently had a sweet potato soup that was excellent. The kids menu is good too. I’ve even asked for just a side of chopped turkey and grapes for my toddler and they were happy to do that. They also now have a food truck. I believe it comes to the Covington Farmer’s Market at least once a month. If you’re ever in downtown Covington you should check it out!

Like I said in my check in. One of my fav places for lunch anywhere! I rarely come to Covington but literally(and yes I’m aware of the extreme overuse of the word«literally) cannot drive past without stopping! I love everything here but fav us chicken salad on croissant. Great tea too!!!

A local coffee shop with a great food menu– excellent, relaxing location and really great service! I am so excited to write this review– this place hits a lot of high notes for me. At the end of a frustrating day– I met a friend here… I ordered the salad first– because I’d not eaten since an early breakfast and this was the adult thing to get– the person at the counter– so sweet and so excited about the menu. She came out to the patio to tell me all about her favourites and their specials for next time. And then I saw wedding cake. and wine. and my friend says– today would be the day. Wedding cake is my favourite– I hate a dry cake with overdone frosting– this was not that. perfectly moist and while I can’t eat all of that icing– the little I had was great. Salad was the Carribean Jerk Chicken on spinach– w/grapes, blue cheese and almonds(or pecans?) I ex-d the apples and raisins– but those are options. Took the salad to go(and had it for a great late supper) — enjoyed watching the evening traffic on the patio– beautiful space, cozy wicker furniture– to sum it up– all love.

I had the tomato basil soup today and I have to say it was probably the best I’ve ever had, from anywhere. The Grilled Salmon Salad is my favorite and they did not disappoint me today. The salmon perfectly cooked and the greens fresh. One issue I have is the noise level. I could barely hear my dining companion and at one point we were practically shouting at one another in order to hear each other. However, it was the lunch rush, the doors open with passing trucks on the street, and sometimes you just can’t help the acoustics in a building! Great place to eat. Highly recommend it. I’d love to try everything on the menu but I can’t get past how wonderful the salmon salad is. Hopefully I’ll be adventurous one day and order something else. I’ve eaten at this restaurant quite a few times and the only complaint I have regarding the food is the last time I was there I ordered a piece of the wedding cake(my favorite) and it was dry, so dry I didn’t finish it. I figured what was the point in consuming the calories if I wasn’t enjoying it? Am I right?

Came for breakfast the other day and the food was very delicious. I had an omelet sandwich and loved it. Definitely recommend this place. It’s got that home feeling to it.

Yum! So glad one of my friends told me to go here. We need one in Baton Rouge. You don’t have waiter service. You order at the counter. I don’t even drink tea, but their tea selection was great. I really enjoyed the key west cooler. Everything looked amazing on the menu. I got the vegetarian quesadillas. They were a little greasy but sooooo good. Can’t wait to try some different next time I’m there. It came with a salad. It was okay. My sister got the Reuben. I don’t eat those but it looked awesome and she said it was enjoyable. My mom had the chicken pesto sandwich and it was great as well. We wanted to go the stuffed artichoke but they don’t carry that anymore. Their patio is really cute! Keep up the good work!

Super impressed. Good food at a great price. Between four of us, we ordered a Caesar salad, Alfredo pasta, and a quesadilla, everything was super tasty. Great price, great service, great atmosphere, and great food! An awesome reason to visit downtown Covington.

Okay, I am fairly new to the area and I have already eaten here three times — it’s so delicious! It’s pretty reasonably priced as well, you can get a seared tuna sandwich for under $ 9. The only downside is if you go during a rush(anytime after 11:45a-3p) you may be standing around waiting for a table for a bit. So far my favorite has been the Tandoori Tuna sandwich, followed by the poppy chicken sandwich. The combination of flavors is just amazing. I have told myself every time I am going to try something from their extensive salad menu, but I always end up getting a sandwich — they haven’t let me down yet! Not to mention their chips are great too! …don’t even get me started on that dessert case… yum.

Coffee Rani was always one of my first stops when I lived away and was back for a trip. It is a great local spot in downtown Covington that caters to a «women who lunch» crowd. The salads are very large portions. My other favorites are the croissant club and the quesadilla. After you order at the counter, you can pick up your silverware and some fresh bread. The bread is amazing and should not be missed. They serve Zoe bakery desserts but you won’t need dessert here. The service is always a little lacking, but I’m wiling to overlook that. Lunch time can be a challenge to find a table so go a little early or later to ensure a calmer room. The outdoor area is nice, but let’s face it, it is too hot 8 months out of the year to fully enjoy it. It isn’t advertised as much but they will do catering sized orders. I’ve ordered giant trays of both pasta and salad for dinner parties(yes, I’m aware that is cheating).

My boyfriend and I came in for a quick dinner. We were not impressed. We both got salads and they were not good. I feel like we wasted our money. I have had catering before and it was amazing. I have family who love eating here. I must have had the wrong thing.

So yummy! This charming little café is in downtown Covington but they have a Mandeville location as well. I love this location because of the outdoor seating in lovely downtown Covington. They serve a variety of sandwiches, burgers, quesadillas and pasta bowls but I always get one of the salads. The salads are colossal and so delicious. I like the Magazine Salad which has egg, bacon, cheese and chicken salad. They serve it with bleu cheese dressing and it’s really great. My favorite, though is the Curried Chicken Salad. Oh my GAWD, y’all. It is so so so good. Chicken, apples, grapes, raisins, walnuts, toasted coconut and curry dressing. It’s positivly addictive. In fact, I think they put crack in it. They should change the name of it to Curried Chicken Crack Salad. Yummmm!

My mother and I had Ash Wednesday lunch here, so I’m long overdue to review it. I had the mushroom burger. It was delicious and their yellow jasmine vines were blooming, which made it very nice to take advantage of their lovely outdoor seating. We should have taken a table on the Lee Lane side instead of the Boston St. side of the wrap-around(porch? deck?) because the traffic is a bit much. I went here again with a cousin for bruch last week. I had a single egg sardou. It was good and the prices are right here for brunch and there are limited brunch options on the Northshore. I have to say, though, I’d much rather sit down and be served at brunch than do the café-ordering thing. The café-ordering thing is fine for lunch but I’m feeling lazier before noon on a Sunday. Anyway, this is a reccomended place. They have a Weight Watchers menu and some vegetarian options(like the mushroom burger I had). It is pretty location, too. /I had accidentally placed this under the Magazine St. Location but it is for the Cov. location.
