Fast food BBQ. First time visiting. Liked the décor and the music. Didn’t know what to expect so we kind of followed the person in front of us. You order at a really high counter and it is hard to see over to direct the prep for your meal. The meat is kept in a warmer and they get it out for each order. We had ribs and chicken with sides of potatoes salad(not the greatest), bbq beans(yum), coleslaw and a cornbread muffin. Dinner was around $ 30 with a drink. The spicy bbq sauce was good and the ribs were fall off the bone great. We might come again but for the price it wasn’t a place to drive out of the way for.

I’ve always ordered take out. The food is really good I’m not too fond of the huge wall I have to order at since I’m super short also nobody really greets you so you just kind of stand there and wait for eye contact which sometimes takes a really long time

Menu = confusing Service = seemed confused and got our very simple order wrong. The staff up front didn’t seem to be doing a good job of talking to the cooks. Food = meat was cold Price = expensive($ 15 for a relatively small amount of meat and two sides) Building = fairly well laid out inside but the floor was crazy slick, like somebody covers it in grease then mopped it up but didn’t get all the grease off It’s always a bad sign when a place like this is void of customers at lunch time. My guess is lots of people go there once to give it a shot and don’t come back because of the food, the service and the high cost. I give this place two months tops before the for lease sign shows up.

I love bbq and slow cooked meat. This place was alright. It wasn’t great. The meat was well cooked; but it wasn’t well flavored the way you expect pit bbq to be. I expected a lot more flavor with their food. Especially, since they say they cook this for hours in the pit. It was tender, but not as tender as you expect. The sides were ehhh. Nothing amazing. If you want real, delicious bbq then I would not recommend eating here at all. I feel they are to much of a chain and forgot about the true bbq quality.

Disappointed. Expensive for the amount and quality you get. Nothing good to write about. I really loved watching them cut open the plastic wrap their ribs were in

Bland food and high prices. Should have known the food was bad when we walked in and it was empty. Girlfriend and I each had one of the Two Meat Platters. $ 29. Tried the brisket, pulled pork, polish sausage and cheddar sausage. Sides were Mac and cheese, waffle fries and jalapeño beans. All the meat was bland and room temp. There wasn’t any smoke flavor in the Brisket or pulled pork. Tried the original sauce and spicy sauce and both were lacking spices. Sides were just as limp. Mac and cheese tasted like it was from a grocery store deli counter and the jalapeño beans weren’t spicy at all. Fries tasted like frozen fries from the oven. Don’t waste your time with the free soft serve. It will just make you more angry.

We’ve been here about six times. Decent BBQ but the service always sucks. Order ahead if you don’t like to wait.

We were looking for some good BBQ and this place just doesn’t have it! I got the pulled pork sandwich it was ok but the sides gross absolutely no flavor at all and served Luke warm. Service was ok. My husband wanted to go try this place I refuse to go back.

Been here twice. Both times, had basically the same experience. Meat: GOOD!!! Sides: DISASTROUS I’ll come back here again and again for the ribs! Between my husband and myself, I think that we’ve also had the brisket, pulled pork and sausage, and they were reasonably good(not amazing). But the ribs have been really fantastic both times. They have 3 sauces: original, spicy, and sweet. We each have our favorite. We also like that the ribs aren’t sauced in the kitchen, so we can control the amount of sauce we like on our ribs. Your platter comes with a couple of dill pickle slices and a couple of raw onion rings. I find this rather curious. Do they think you might make a sandwich with the dinner roll and your meat?(LOL) The pickle I can kinda(barely) understand. But the onion slices are out of left-field to me. Is this a «southern» thing? Please fill me in. Anyway, neither of us bothered eating the pickles or onions. The dinner roll is so-so; too«industrial» for my liking. And no butter is offered — odd. Now, about those side dishes. Man, I’ve had a terrible experience with mine, both times. First time, I got Onion Tanglers(I normally LOVE onion rings), which were crazy-salty. I couldn’t even eat them. I also got the Baked Potato Casserole, which was dense, under-seasoned, and not hot at all(cold potatoes, cold cheddar, and cold bacon are all REALLY not good cold). Hubby got a special seasonal item, Collard Greens, which is not on the official menu, and it was delicious — too bad we couldn’t get it yesterday. I can’t remember what his second side was on our first visit. Yesterday, for my sides, I got green beans(overcooked and mushy, tasteless, no bacon flavor and no visible bacon bits in the dish), and corn on the cob(not on the official menu). I don’t know what was wrong with that corn, but it did not taste like corn in any way, shape or form. I could tell just by looking at it that it was overcooked, and no butter was offered with it. But I dove in like a trooper, nevertheless. It was nothing short of horrid; I actually spit it out within a second or two. The flavor was indescribable. Wow. Hubby’s sides were waffle fries, and fried okra, and he liked both of them. I tried the free soft-serve«ice cream»(ahem!). One taste, and into the trash it went. I don’t know what it is, but I wouldn’t call it ice cream. It reminds me very much of the Weight Watchers frozen imitation«ice cream» that we used to eat back in the 70s or 80s. And it was loaded with way too much artificial vanilla flavoring. Yech! So… Go for the ribs. Go for the other meats. Go for the sauce. But unless they can improve on the freshness and quality of their side dishes, I will just be ordering the meats. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The place is clean. Lots of potential. Great sides would make this place rise to 4 or 5 stars.

Some really good BBQ! There are many choices. They have 2 or 3 meat platters with plenty of side choices. and free ice cream to cool your palette

Eh. We were all looking forward to becoming regulars here for great BBQ, as we are from the South… We left disappointed. Our meals were just OK. Smaller food portions, lukewarm, quite dry and lacking flavor. We may give this place another try.

Sadly disappointed. :( We were really looking forward to having a good BBQ meal but this missed the mark completely. The meats in general were well cooked, but had no real seasoning or smoke flavor to them at all. Both the pulled pork and the brisket were tender(slow cooked), but fatty and bland. All of the flavor needed to come from the sauces(which were nothing to write home about either). I can buy better BBQ sauce at the grocery store in a bottle. The side dishes: We tried a variety of them. Coleslaw, mac and cheese, green beans, and something else I have forgotten… They were all BAD to the point that we didn’t finish any of them. We noticed the prices were surprisingly high when we walked in so we were hoping for top quality BBQ. It turned out to be no where NEAR a good value for the food you get. We definitely will NOT be going back.

For starters, this isn’t real BBQ, not even close. First the good. The meat tastes decent. The brisket tastes and feels like roast beef with a pink smoke ring. No smoke taste or seasoning, so roast beef flavor. The pulled pork is also ok, somewhat juicy, medium tender but the taste was just so so. Now the sides. Some of the sides could be likened to what you get at a fast food place like KFC. The sides are not homemade in the least sense of the term. The roll sucks and the pickle and onion are just that. One ring of onion and 3 pickle slices. Overall I will not return. This is run of the mill, boring, bland, below average good, expensive BBQ if you can call it that. There is better if you keep looking(Branks). Disappointed but not surprised.

If marrying barbecued meat was legal I would be an engaged mother effer right now. Holy smokes [pardon the pun] this place is the tops! Last time I was in Texas I have the best shredded beef brisket ever. I noticed that this changes based out of Texas in this item is on their menu so I figured I would give it a shot. Blown away. It’s affordable, fast and delicious: That’s the trifecta in my book. Would’ve gone for five stars but requested extra sauce twice and still didn’t get it. I would’ve paid for it, if they asked but it wasn’t in the bag. Didn’t notice until it was too late. Still delicious, still coming back.

Be sure to check it if you’re getting it to go. Triple check. I ordered online. I wanted a westerner sandwich. When I got home there was the meat, one onion slice, no pickles and no bread. For a sandwich. I called to see what happened and the kid who answered was«sure I was wrong because he put the order together himself». That made me angry and I also told him the food was cold(other reviews on here say same thing) and he said that«travel time affects food temperature». I live a mile away. I finally asked to speak to a manager to which he said he was. Couldn’t be older than 17. Great. Finally agreed to replace it. I told him it was probably cold because I was told the food would be ready in 15 minutes, I arrived 5 minutes early, and was told the fries weren’t done and I had to wait 32MINUTES after I arrived. I go the next day to get it replaced to which they initially refused unless I produced a receipt. ABSURD. They had my order from the online system but wanted my receipt? They finally buckled and said 15 minutes. I’m currently sitting in the lobby and it’s been 40. MANAGEMENT: Teach your kids customer service and quality control. Reviews like this and the others kill your business. Giving a customer an attitude and telling him you’re «offended» because he said his order was wrong and then being sarcastic and confrontational? I’m assuming that the managers need to be trained better. If they were competent and adequate then this wouldn’t happen, but instead the people I’ve dealt with were rude, abrasive and incompetent. Avoid this place.

One of those places that I was willing to give a second chance and it just didn’t work out. Gotten take-out twice; first time around I got one of their two-meat combo platters with brisket and cheddar sausage and it was mediocre at best. Both meats were lukewarm but the sauce was decent and the mac and cheese was plentiful and tasty. The second time however was pretty much the bottom of the barrel. The portions were pathetic for the fairly expensive price, much less than we received the first time. Also the meats were even colder this time and the brisket fell apart into literal crumbles. It barely stayed together from the first bite. And everything else was just stale. The roll was awful, the mac and cheese bland and the onions were browning. Not to mention they botched the meat choices AND multiple sides on all but one of our orders and also didn’t include a bottle of sauce we ordered. Calling in, they were relatively unapologetic, just offering a complimentary entrée and saying they’ll «work on it.» No thanks. This isn’t barbecue, this is a business that doesn’t have its act together. I won’t bother anymore. Getting red flags from both the lack of care placed into the order and from my stomach is enough for me.

I called tonight at 4:50pm & a nice guy answered asking if I wanted to place a holiday order… I asked him how long to have a family pack order ready. feeds 2 – 3 people according to the website. I was told 25 minute wait. Since I placed a phone order last week & was told 20 minutes & got there 25 mins later and was told another 45 mins wait so I cancelled. Thought I would give a second chance tonight. so called early to inquire on the wait time. I was told 25 mins(knowing it takes longer I ordered early) so I order 45 mins before said time it would be ready. I showed up 5 mins after I was told it would be done… AND Told another 30 – 45 mins! I wish I could tell you how it tastes… but had to cancel both orders.

My first time ever at a Dickey’s Barbecue Pit was 12−11−14. I found the food a little better then I expected. I found the portions appropriate for what you pay. I like the idea of a free Ice Cream Cone for desert. The counter staff were fairly quick. The only negative was I thought the Ham was a little overcooked. The Beef Brisket and Chicken was very good. t

Not impressed. Prices are as high as a full service restaurant and portions are small. The free ice cream looked like a cool perk until we tried it and it tasted like cheap ice milk. So many other BBQ places give so much more for your money and there really isn’t anything over the top different to make this worth it.
