If the rating scale could be negative, I would choose a –5. We purchased new tires from Sam’s two years ago and they lost one of our hubcaps. It came off right away, it was not installed properly they would not do anything to replace it This past week we got our tires rotated now I’m missing three hubcaps so an additional two where not properly installed. We called right away Sam’s looked at their security footage and Saw where the car drove off only having one of them. Went yesterday to pick them up and now they do not find them!!! BUYERSBEWARE!

Eat at the deli at your own peril. It is an infection or food borne illness waiting to happen. For some reason they think it is good practice to have the cashier serve your food. So, they go from taking money with their gloves on straight to serving your food. Today, after touching money and the counter the cashier reached into the bag of hot dog buns to grab a bun. Any idea how many germs and disgusting things are on money or the counter? Me either, but I didn’t want them on my hot dog. If you get sick eating here now you know why. Oh, and this is about the 6th time I’ve complained to Sam’s about this. They need to teach their associates safe food handling practices then enforce them.

Edited: After contacting the manager(Mr. Ballard), he apologized for the poor service and did everything he could to make up for it. I changed my 1-star to a 3-star because of his quick response. If you’re looking for speedy auto service, keep on driving!!! I’ve been waiting 2 hours to get 2 tires balanced and now that my van is FINALLY on the rack, the one tech working has vanished! I guess the adage, «You get what you pay for,» is true. Cheap tires means poor service. Since it’s a free service, I don’t think they really put much effort in to it!

Until this location opened, I had always shopped at the store in Slidell. I do not like shopping at the Sam’s in Covington. I needed one new tire on my car and waited for several hours even though I arrived thirty minutes after they opened. There were only two guys working on cars and they were extremely slow moving. I always use self-checkout when there is any line at all. I am very fast and can scan my entire basket before most people can scan six or seven items. I was used to the self-checkout in Slidell where there was no limit and didn’t realize there was a limit of ten items here. The employee was extremely rude to me, almost to the point that I just wanted to walk out and leave my food there. The regular lines were very long, only three were open, and there was no one else using the four self-checkout lines at all! In the time it took to talk to her, I would have been already finished checking myself out. I had another incident where I ordered online and picked up in the store. When I picked it up, it was the incorrect item and they told me that they were out of what I ordered. Turns out they were lying because I found what I ordered in the store myself. These are only a few of the problems I’ve had. I loathe walking into that store now. When I go to Slidell, I usually stop at Sam’s there on the way home so that I don’t have to go to the one in Covington.

Apparently the patrons of Sam’s club have been deemed as too STUPID to pump gasoline properly. ALLTHEBACKSTOPS on the gas pumps were removed. THATMEANS, IFYOUWANTTOPUMPGASANDCLEANYOURWINDOWSATTHESAMETIME, YOUCAN’T. WHY? Because YOU are too stupid to stop pumping gasoline when you tank is full. You see, a few people are actually THAT idiotic and there were a few overflows. So now Sam’s punishes EVERYONE. Sam’s in Hattiesburg, MS. does not do this. Good gas stations do not do this. But if you want cheap gas … and to GETYOURMONEY’S WORTHFROMSAM’S, you have to stand like a SCOLDEDCHILD and HOLDTHEGASGUNOPEN for the entire time you are filling up. Personally, I find the situation really insulting. I lobbied the station attendant to put a few back stops on, and so they put on ONEORTWO, but now those are gone too. When people in customer service treat their PAYING customers like BABIES, someone needs to cry fowl.

I have since moved and left the awesome Sam’s and Target of Slidell and traded them for the Sam’s and Target of Mandeville. This Sam’s is the same in every way, except it seems brighter. Maybe it’s the skylights, but I did notice a difference in light level. I haven’t been there after dark yet. They have all the same merch, with the one issue I see is the self checkout lanes having conveyor belts like a regular checkout line. This causes what I saw on Saturday, people with a cart full of stuff using the self checkout because they wanted to scan their own items. Look, good for you if you want to scan your own stuff when you have way over 20 items, but I like to use the self checkout because I’m usually checking out with 10 or less items and can work that scanner like an outlaw could work a six shooter. Have some compassion for those of us who are wanting to leave the store quickly and have someone else scan your stuff. The gas station at this place is Members Only, however, much to my dismay, they do not issue jackets with purchase. It looks like it allows them to reduce the number of pumps they had in Slidell, but it’s never been overly crowded when I’ve been.

Get meats like chicken, pork and fish here. Good prices on clothes. Sams has variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, wines. Kashi pizza(3/box) and bird seed just about winds up my shopping. Wife heads start to jewelry counter… Would give higher ranking, but we only have Visa and checkbook and they do not take Visa. Most of the time we forget the checkbook.

For years those of us living in western St. Tammany were forced to drive all the way to Slidell to visit a Sam’s Club. After years of wrangling with the parish council, local residents and others, Sam’s opened a location in Covington. Surprisingly, it took me nearly six months to make my first visit. All Sam’s locations are similar. They are giant warehouses filled with products everyone needs, but few need in the quantities they offer. I love pickles, but I probably don’t need a five gallon bucket full. This location fits the traditional Sam’s Club mold. What sets it apart is that it is brand new, and close to me. All of the staff I have encountered have been very friendly, and they actually seem to enjoy their jobs. I look forward to returning here when I finally decide to get a new, giant TV. The deals they have seem pretty good. If you need giant quantities of stuff, come here. Note: They do not accept Visa, but do accept Discover and Master Card.
