We’ve come here multiple times and the waitresses are always friendly and fast. I love that they’re open much later than the surrounding restaurants and you get sick of Taco Bell when eating late. Def a nice change for a burger and fries without the normal fast food atmosphere :)

Well, who does love a milkshake to go along with their meal. our kids love it. Service is a little slow at times, but kids are never disappointed with their meal and shake selection!

I’ve been here too many times to count and the experience is continually subpar. Honestly if it weren’t for the fact that my kids absolutely love this place, I wouldn’t keep stopping here. The wait to sit is always longer than it needs to be, even when there are seats available. It always takes too long to be helped and it always takes too long to get your food. If you’re lucky you will get a waiter/waitress who genuinely wants to help but the chances of that are 50⁄50. The food almost always comes out cold as well. If the burger is done right, it’s definitely delicious… but again, the chances of it being done as you want it(hot and prepared as asked) are again, 50⁄50. This is definitely one of those situations where you get what you pay for. To feed my four kids and myself, with drinks and shakes, I’m paying under $ 30(not including tip). That’s pretty good to say that I allowed them to order as they wished. But, bc the prices are cheap, it’s like you don’t get the nice sit down experience. I love it for the prices and the fact that my kids love it… but hate it for all the above mentioned reasons.

We always try and find a reason to stop in at steak and shake. Where else can you go and get a combo meal for under $ 5? I always order the nacho cheese, double steak burger. It comes dripping with nacho cheese and covered in jalapenos. I also get a side of cheese for my fries. Overall the visit was good, it took the server a few minutes to greet us, but after that she was on point with refills and checking to make sure we did not need anything. Our burgers and fries came out hot, as expected. I really can’t say anything other than this was an as expected visit.

This review is only fro the milkshakes because I have not eaten the food here. I was close by with a friend and we decided a milkshake was in order. I can’t say anything about the interior of this location because my friend and I went through the drive through. I have not been to a Steak ‘n Shake in years! I was overwhelmed with the choices of milkshakes. I decided to go with a vanilla base with cookie dough pieces mixed in because, let’s be honest, you can never go wrong with cookie dough. The staff were friendly and patient given how indecisive I was about what I wanted to order. Overall it was a great milkshake and a great deal because from 2 – 5 p.m. weekdays all milkshakes are half priced!

Driving back home to Texas. I saw sns and very excitedly wanted to show my family this place. There is one in Austin but they’ve never tried it. And for the first time since I was a little girl, I felt discriminated against. Waitresses were very blunt with me and my family, but we’re very cheerful and communicative with other customers. Food took FOREVER. Not to mention I had like 10 fries on my plate. I ordered 2 milk shakes. Our waitress walked around talking to co workers as I watched our shakes sit there for about 5 mins. I got up and after trying to get someone’s attention for another good 5 mins. our waitress asked someone else to grab our shakes and hand them to me. This is the worst customer service I’ve ever had. Only reason there are 2 stars is because my burger was tasty.

Reasonable prices, friendly service and delicious burgers n fries. This is only my 2nd time coming here and I was pleasantly surprised. Kids ate free all weekend and shakes are half off during the week from 2 – 5. Will definitely return. We went Saturday for lunch and it was packed! The manager was accommodating and friendly.

If I could give it half a star I would. Burger is so thin and has nothing on it and most the time you don’t get what you order. Wait is horrible and I will say it’s cheap but your better off spending extra and getting quality rather than 2 hour old smashed cheeseburgers o and your lucky if you even get cheese on them. Won’t be back ever. Sad excuse for a burger joint. That sucks because I was hoping it would be good.

After having a very successful visit(two visits actually) to Steak & Shake in St. Louis, MO, I was stoked to learn that they were building a location in Covington. However, my visit on 9÷20÷2015 left me less than satisfied. We walked in to a restaurant that was ½ to 2⁄3 full upon our arrival. However, our party of 6 was seated quickly and our server arrived shortly thereafter. It took well over 20 minutes for our food to arrive, and in the interim, I was trying to entertain a hungry 3 year old who doesn’t truly comprehend the word patience. However, my thought was that Steak & Shake didn’t quite comprehend the term«fast food». I counted no less than 11 people behind the counter, therefore, it looked as it the store was sufficiently staffed. My «royale» burger was not as good as the Steak & Shake burger I remembered from St. Louis. It wasn’t bad, however, it just wasn’t memorable. The fried egg on top of this double meat burger was definitely the highlight of the visit. However, the French fries tasted as if the grease was way too hot because even though the outsides were not burned, the insides were void of all moisture as if they were subject to an internal blast of nuclear heat. Also, these«shoestring» fries are just way too thin. I got a bowl of chili on the side and immediately dumped half of it on my fries in an effort to regain some moisture. I’ll admit that it helped, but the chili was absolutely unspectacular. In fact, I’ll state right now that a can of lean beef Wolf’s brand chili is much better. I was also unhappy that the bowl was extremely shallow, giving you an initial impression that this was a nice sized bowl of chili, when it really wasn’t. This was no fault of our server, who tried to do her best to keep our drinks full as we waited patiently for our food. Perhaps if I had ordered a shake at the end of my meal, I would have enjoyed myself a little more and perhaps given a 3-star rating. But with no shake, the 2-stars remain.

Food was fresh but order was incorrect. Waitress was pleasant, but a little slower service than would’ve liked. Just an ok place

Wish we had a Steak & Shake in Utah! High quality food served hot and fresh! You gotta order a shake. Super thick and delicious.

If I didn’t love SnS, I’d never come here. It’s the slowest I’ve ever been to. Good food, but be prepared to wait. And wait. And wait.

Slow, slow, slow and Greasy! Prices are pretty cheap but thats about all the place has going for it. The single patty burgers are as thin as you can possibly get ground beef and the fries follow the same general style. Fries, burgers and hot dogs all come out covered in a nice layer of grease — yes more than typical with this type of food. The wait simply isn’t worth the flavor or quality of food — it’s not bad, but compared to other options(Five Guys — or even Burger King or Wendys) it’s nothing spectacular. Their shakes are pretty decent, but again in the time it takes them to make one I could probably make three at my house and again they aren’t that good to stand around for 10 mins. If you have no other option this place will suffice, otherwise I would suggest finding another option.

Apparently people on the north shore have never seen a girl with pink and blue hair. People wouldn’t leave my friend alone to eat! They just kept talking about her hair. Telling her how pretty it is. Gah. My hair is pretty good too! Albeit, it is only brown, but whatever. I HAVEGOODHAIRTOO, NORTHSHOREFOLKS. Aaaanyway. Shoe string potatoes aren’t really my thing, but these were ok. I feel like the prices were pretty good. Staff — friendly. Gina, our waitress, even handled our ridiculous indecision with finesse and professionalism. I had the Frisco Melt — which is a patty melt but with Frisco Sauce. Which is secret sauce, which is 1,000 island dressing. JUSTFYI. It was pretty buttery. Which I guess is their thing? Also, A1 sauce is a thing they have here. The paper towels are too rough to use as Kleenex. My nose hurts.

Tori, our waitress was the best waitress. She was extremely helpful and open-minded to our first time dining in. The food was good and the shakes for perfect a very nice place I wish we had near the West bank.

Very simple… Sloooooooow service, took 45+ minutes to receive our order only to discover it was wrong. They forgot our shakes so we had to take them to go. On top of all of that, the Kitchen/prep area was filthy. That was my last visit to the Steak and Shake in Covington.

This place reminds me of my days living in the midwest where Steak and Shake’s are in every town. The wife(now ex) and I would go here whenever we had to drive to town to get groceries.(Yes, I lived so far out in the sticks that getting groceries was an event). Come to think of it Steak and Shake may have been the only bright spot in that whole experience. So when I hear that the Northshore was getting one, I was stoked! The kids and I finally got around to going this past weekend. They were stoked as well as everythime they visit my parents in Indiana they want to go here. We got here about 1:30 on Saturday and grabbed 3 seats at the counter and waited… and waited… and waited… took a nap and waited some more. The place was busy but I watched about 500 burgers get made in front of me and unless everyone in the place ordered 10 burgers each then something was amiss. The manager even came by and apologized a few times for the delay. I think out waitress forgot to enter in our ticket. Oh well it happens. The burgers are on the thinner side which I like and are cooked on a hot griddle. The fires that acompany it are of the shoestring variety and always crunchy. Their milkshake selection is huge and always served in those old timey frosty glasses. I’m sure i’ll be back again but next time I’ll bring a pillow just in case.

When this location first opened it was constantly packed. There were giant lines and someone even told me they waited an hour for their burger in the drive thru. That coupled with a co-worker telling me «that place has the best burger I’ve ever had» led me to believe this place was awesome. Boy, was I wrong. This is a review of their food from the drive thru, which is why I am rating it two stars. The drive thru was fast, friendly and efficient. Unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired. I ordered a standard cheese burger and fries. The burger was nothing special. In fact, it was somewhat flavorless, and a huge disappointment. I guess I expected a fancier burger than I would get at other fast food chains, but to me, it was no better than Burger King or McDonalds. I realize this may be an unpopular opinion based on what I’ve read in other reviews, but I was not impressed. I will probably give this place another chance based on how many people have raved about its quality, but my experience was far less stellar.
