Move over Willy Wonka… this place has you beat! Having ADHD it is hard to focus on anything in life. Imagine what I felt like after getting my frozen yogurt into my cup and was time to put toppings on it. I couldn’t decide!!! It was so hard, I was so glad that there wasn’t anyone else in there at the time. I decided on some fresh fruit and brownie bits. I have been to Menchie’s and Yogurtland, and their toppings don’t compare to U-Top it! I would love to come and visit again… and this time, perhaps I should do several cups with different yogurt flavors so I can make my own topping creations!

Interesting little place Covington has here. The entire front counterspace is adorned with toppings, hence the name!!! A lot of their selection(at least during the time I went in) was majority cake batter selections. Not much tangy or fruity. Who knows though! Maybe they switch up their selections on different weeks! The Pecan Praline was a bit too sweet for me, but I REALLLYYYY liked the New York Cheesecake and Angel Food Cake. :) Just as a side note: Froyo seemed a little on the soft side and melted pretty quickly

Punch card Alert! Buy 8, get $ 3 off your next purchase. I’m really not as good at this fro-yo review thang as the queen of Unilocal fro-yo reviews: Lolia aka Fro-Yo Girl in San Fran( ). I can only try… And let me start out by blaspheming: I don’t like fro-yo as much as ice cream. THERE, I SAIDIT! OK — forgive me, back to our regularly scheduled review… What makes this place good: a gigantic topping bar!( ) Apparently they have over 70 dry toppings to choose from. They also have 5 sauces, including marshmallow, and a decent fruit/cold topping selection. Although popping boba aficionados should note they only have one popping boba flavor. 44 cents an ounce makes U-Top It pretty average price wise in the fro-yo market. My medium-large dulce de leche with choco covered espresso beans and pecan pralines was about $ 5. The 10 flavors on the 5 machines were your average selection: vanilla/choco, cake batter, pineapple, etc… It was a little on the soft side today, a little too soft in my opinion as it didn’t hold its shape coming out of the machines. Definitely good for a fix if you’re in Covington! 1⁄30

We love this place! You grab a cup, fill it up with however much of any kind of frozen yogurt you want, then put all the toppings you want on it! So many options, it’s amazing. Much better than competitors(Cold Stone, Baskin Robbins, etc.)

Eat your heart out, Cold Stone. Sure, the ice cream may not be as «high of quality» as Cold Stone but the variety of toppings and«mix-ins» certainly is and you can do it yourself to get the proportion you wish. Easy peasy. Kids love it.

I went here with my Husband and we were quite pleased with their selections. They had a lot more toppings than Menchies. I fell in love with the apple pie flavor frozen yogurt! SOGOOD! It’s a bit pricier than Menchies, but it was worth it. The place was clean and the workers were friendly. We will be back!

Yum! I went here with my fiancé and my son, and holy crap, awesome! So many flavors, so so many toppings, from fresh fruit, sauces, and nuts, to little cotton candy bits! Prices are a little steep, but its cheaper then, say, coldstone, if you add a bunch of mix-ins. Its deffinately worth it, and I will be back! One employee there was, to my shock, my great friend from highschool, so call me biased, but the service was awesome =) At the age of 21, I didn’t think I could have that much fun getting ice cream, but I had a blast, and scarffed it down haha. If your ever in town, its the place to be. My son even wanted to have his birthday party there ! I reccomend this place for anyone with an imagination, or the munchies haha. one things for sure, this is the best thing about covington wa!

unfortunately the only good thing I have to say about u top it is that the flavors of yogurt are very good! Other than that I’ve not been very please with my visits there(I go at least 4 – 5 times a week) My biggest my aggravating complaint is that they run out of all the good flavors way to fast, I get them for a day or two then their gone. I’ll ask an employee what happened to the flavor that was their the day before and they just say, «oh we ran out, it was suppose to last all week but it only lasted two days.» I’ve run into this problem 5 or 6 times, not sure why they don’t order more of the popular flavors so they can last for a week. And I went in the other day and two of the dispensers were empty. All of the employees are very young and most are not all that friendly, I feel like I’m bothering them when I ask to try a flavor. The counters are usually pretty gross, there are condiments all over the counter, the sauces are all gunky and spilling everywhere, some of the fruit is also pretty gross looking sometimes. It’s very easy to wipe the counters down, not sure why they are always a mess. I’ve also run into the owner a couple times there and she hasn’t been friendly at all. I really hate to complain so much but for a new business you think they would be doing all they can to make it a great experience while you are there. If there were any other frozen yogurt places closer I would definatly be going there. Unfortunately I will stop going there if things continue to stay the way they are.

After falling in love with Yogurtland on my honeymoon in Hawaii, I was so sad that there was nothing like it back here in Washington(although now there is one in Capitol Hill). Much to my delight, U-Top It opened just a mere 5 minutes from my house! It is pretty much the same concept, minus a few flavors of yogurt. The way it works: you get a cup(medium or large), you choose whatever flavors of yogurt you want(I think they have10 flavors that rotate), you choose your toppings(fruit, mochi, cookies, candies, cereals, nuts — they probably have 50 choices), and then you pay by the ounce(.42/oz). This place is clean, well stocked, and has generally helpful employees. They also have a Facebook page that keeps you updated with their new flavors each week. I only have two gripes. First, I think .42/oz is pretty steep, especially in a small town locale. Yogurtland in Hawaii(where you expect everything to be marked up) was only .39/oz and their Capitol Hill location is .35/oz. The other thing — their rewards system. Though I am very happy they even have one, I think $ 5 off instead of $ 3 would be more reasonable. I imagine that the average customer spends at least $ 5 per purchase, and usually the idea is to get something«free» after 8+ purchases. Other than that, I am a happy camper!

The kids and I love this place. What’s good and bad is that the flavors change regularly. So, if you like a flavor you need to go in that week because next week it will probably be gone. However, that brings new surprising flavors the next week. I have taken my girls three times in the past three week. There are several yogurt flavors to chose from and as a bonus most are gluten free. So, after you have chosen your yogurt flavor(s) it is off to the toppings. I swear I have never seen so many topping choices for yogurts anywhere. I love the fresh fruits. My kids love the fresh pineapple and mangos. I love the fresh strawberries and raspberries. The fruit like the yogurt change often. If you are wanting sweet, or decadent you definately have the most choices. It is like being at the sweets section(bulk foods) at top foods. Holy cow the choices are endless! The only negative is it can be very expensive. I believe it is .42 or .43/ounce. So if you start piling on the fruit or the candy, or brownies cookies, etc. It is easy to have a $ 5 – 7 dessert for one person. The cup choices are large and huge. I manage to not go crazy, get a nice treat and get out around $ 3.50. The employees are great at letting you sample different yogurt flavors if you like. We went to a competitor up in Federal Way. The price was comparable, but their are three times as many topping choices in Covington at U-top IT. I highly recommend this place. It is a great alternative to ice cream.
