Western Sizzlin

Maybe it was because I was starving, but this place was very good. Had the buffet and everything I had was tasty and fresh. Salad and fried oysters were especially good. Server was very kind and attentive. Great spot for me and my dad to fill up the tanks and catch up. No picture. Too hungry to take one. Sorry.

We don’t get out very much. Had a family vacation. Stopped off the interstate on our way to Virginia beach. We have a son who is autistic and has a different diet. He will only eat a certain thing at a time. He was eating grilled cheese at this time. I explained this to our waitress and she talked to the manager. He wanted 3 of them and they cut us a great deal on them being we didn’t want to. order the meal. He also had his ipad and needed a plug outlet
. She seated us right next to an outlet. The food and service were awesome. They were so helpful with our needs like no other place we have ever been. About six months later we had to take a relative that way from our town of Madison Indiana. We said hey we are so close to Western Sizzlin we have to stop. The same waitress was there again. She remembered everything about my son’s needs. Ipad and grilled cheese. I only wish we could remember her name. I am sure if she reads this she will remember us. Her and the staff were awesome. I hope some day to get that way again. They went out of their way to help an autistic child. I will never forget their deeds. Just wish I could remember their names. Thank you all in Covington

Update… Two days ago, gave it a whirl again. I have to say, «Wow!» They are trying! Great changes to the buffet, and it was delicious. Pretty darned good fried chicken, nice meatloaf. Salad bar adequate. Desserts adequate. Yeast rolls delicious when hot. Came back again today. Again, great job! 3 of us had all we could eat for about 10 bucks each. WELL DONE. I sure hope they keep it up. Highly recommend.

the place is quite /​clean. The service is «good», considering all there is to do (if you go for the buffet) is get you to your table and then just wait to be called if needed by the customer. but they are attentive, which is why the «good».
the dishes aren’t anything great — like almost all buffets. just stuff cooked in massive quantities. tastes pretty generic.
but, a quick place to get something to eat. no ‘wait’ times. and a standard non changing quality of food. (it makes some people happy)

Worst Western Sizzlin ever! We’d rather eat out of a dumpster! Service was poor and food was worse!

In a word: AWFUL!!! The air conditioning wasn’t fully functional, so as more people came in the temp climbed into the high 80s. Two of three toilets in the women’s room were out of order. Tables and chairs were sticky. They stacked dirty tableware on the drink service buffet and reached around the stacks of tableware to work the computer (See photo). The seafood was over-​breaded and therefore all tasted alike. A hot bar attendee poured water into the soup AND into the rice. Rice floating in water tastes like lumpy water.
