Best burger place I’ve ever in Cincy! Seriously! The food is freakin amazing and the atmosphere is so cool. Can’t wait til they make it to Columbus! I’d eat here all the time. Way better than graffiti burger. :-)

Shame I found this place the night they were closing, because it was really good(especially for the cost). They did a cool job with the semi-comic style décor, though it certainly doesn’t fit the neighborhood. Typical burger options, with chicken or turkey as possible subs, and typical fry/side salad options. Nothing revolutionary, but was a pretty good local place that executed well. Hopefully they come back(as their facebook said they planned to).

I enjoyed my burger but it wasn’t something to write home about. It’s not the cheapest place to get a burger but the staff there is crazy nice. The french fries were not that great. They were the thicker fries but all I felt was they were greasy and undercooked. They also make their own ketchup in house which I thought was good. I might go back as it could have been a fluke seeing as how many people gave them at least four stars. We shall see!

The interior of Whackburger was clean and streamlined with a pop art spin. Their hours are a little weird — we showed up on a Monday, but ended up having to find somewhere else to eat since they’re closed then. I had the Fried Green Tomato with the black bean patty, and the burger is huge. It definitely looks homemade, but it’s not dry like many black bean patties can be. It was a little crumbly but not too bad. My husband had the Kalifornia burger. We both enjoyed our burgers — they were very flavorful. We found the broccoli slaw to be a little too peppery, but the fresh cut fries were very good.

When I came here with the boyfriend and ordered a burger, we were the only customers in the place. It took awhile to get the food and the whole time I was thinking, «are they killing the cow back there? What on earth could be taking so long?» Once the food arrived, I realized the wait was well worth it. The burger was huge and amazingly fresh and full of flavor. The fries seemed to have been made straight from the potato. Their ketchup is made in-house which really pulled out the flavor of everything.

I was given a lot of grief going to a place named Whack Burger… but after reading all the great reviews, I couldn’t wait to prove everyone wrong! I ordered the black & bleu turkey burger and my manager order the classic turkey burger. After one bite we both felt sick. The manager assured me the burger was cooked through but the meat was just«different» and definitely didn’t taste like a turkey burger! The fries were good and the service wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t a great first experience for me unfortunately.

I honestly think it was the best burger I’ve ever had. Well worth the trip across the river. Just a tiny little place with one guy cooking and one guy waiting on people. Nothing fancy. Just the best burger ever!!!

Best burger I’ve had in this area, hands down. I had the fried green tomato and fries. Overly stuffed, and I feel not a bit of guilt. I’m loving this place so much, I’m still sitting here as I write this. For the love of God people, come here and eat!!! Btw. the fries are awesome too.

I’ve had burgers from all over the world, and Whack Burger is amongst the best! Tops in the Cincinnati/NKY area… we’ve had Terry’s, Mad Mike, and many others and none compare. Do your taste buds a big damn favor and give them a try! Beautifully charbroiled, fresh Brioche, and packed full over flavor these burgers are perfectly cooked and not messy at all. They have great fresh side options like fresh fruit salad, house salad, and the Jambalaya. To the negative reviews that said others were better, especially«Mad Mikes», stop sucking on battery acid or brush your teeth because apparently your taste buds have been damaged!

Good burger joint — I got the Kalifornia with a Turkey burger(they also have black bean burgers as an option), boyfriend got the BBQ Jalepeno. My burger tasted fresh and delicious, boyfriend seemed in love with his. Very good fries(served with Heinz 57?) that compliment burgers well. Interesting interior, with comic book pages plastered on the back wall! Hits all the local notes well.

Just went back to Whack Burger after maybe a year, and I’m delighted to let everyone know that they are still delivering easily one of the best burgers in the Tri-state area. I’d say this burger deserves a Top 3 status. Put one in your face.

I really hate to give a Covington establishment anything less than 4 stars, but Whack Burger just falls a little short. I like the variety of choices, but after trying the whack burger and fried green tomato burger, it just seems like the topping fail to stand out. The special sauce on the whack burger is good, but the jalapeños had little heat or flavor and I almost forgot there was bacon at all. The burgers themselves remind me of a backyard grill out, not a bad thing, but they do carry a pretty hefty char and being well-done makes them a little dry. Fries are the thick, home style variety, which I liked, but my wife prefers hers a bit more crispy. I could come back, but being honest I think if I get a burger craving I might choose Mad Mike’s instead.

Average burger patty with above average toppings. Had the BBQ Jalapeño burger. Sauce and toppings were outstanding. Burger patty itself was nothing special. Worth a try if you are in the area.

Had lunch there yesterday. Got the Mediterranean burger and homemade chips. The burger was big, but had very little flavor to it and was pretty dry. The toppings seemed fresh and tasted nice. The homemade chips were nearly burned beyond being edible. I was only able to eat about 1⁄3 of them. They were definitely crisp. I think they would have been good had they not been so badly burned. I was surprised they even hades them out. Overall, pretty disappointing. There are so many places that have good burgers these days. I like to support the local places when possible, but I doubt if I go back there.

I stopped in for my first visit on a Thursday about 5:45pm. There were no other customers there so I was immediately concerned about what I might experience. The music was loud, and alternative rock, but that seemed to fit their branding well. I approached the cashier and let him know that this was the first time I had been in their restaurant and wanted his recommendation. He recommended the«Whack Burger» and I obliged, holding the red onions of course. Other options were the Apple & Brie burger, Curry Chutney, Jumbalaya, and an assortment of other gourmet style burgers. The service interaction was mediocre, but the food was fantastic. Every bite was enjoyable and I was glad to see their fries appeared to be fresh cut instead of frozen from a bag. I’ll go back if in the area for another style of burger.

Whack burger was open last night likely because of the neutral milk hotel show at the Madison. I figured what the hay, riverside is closed on Mondays so I’ll give the burger joint a go. They were clearly busy. Very busy. The staff was pushed to the max. The grill was overflowing with burgers the entire time. My wait was long but totally to be expected. The fries were fabulous. Perfectly prepared. You’d almost expect the fries to be a little undercooked to help ease the time constraints of the rush but not at all. The burgers were ok. I think the egg chili burger would be better with a cheddar instead if blue but I can change that next time. What really won me over was the server/order taker/super hero girl. Again the place was a mad house and you could tell she was at the max capacity. She held her composure, was super friendly and remembered the little details. Ice machine was out if ice. 3 minutes later she appeared at our table outside with two cups of ice and a smile. I needed a knife and offered to follow her in to grab it but it was refused. She took care of the place and single handedly earned my 5 star review. Well her and the fries.

Okay I was really looking forward to trying this place out. I have to say that I wasn’t that impressed. Maybe I’ll try something different next time. I ordered a turkey burger and talk about bland. I’m not sure if they always fix their turkey burgers this way, but it seriously lacked flavor. Just plain turkey… I didn’t even taste salt or pepper in the patty. Even the cheese and ‘fixins’ I put on it wasn’t enough to add flavor to this poor burger. I’m hoping my next visit will be better. I did appreciate the way they decorated their little establishment. Pretty cool.

Since this was my first visit to Whack, I choose a classic cheeseburger. It took about 10 minutes for my burger to arrive, which I didn’t mind in the least. It is one big burger. Very tall and wide. They have to skewer it right though the center to keep everything together. Being a big burger, it was difficult to eat. I was not impressed by the beef or the toppings. Now I know what the baseline is. Perhaps one of the many other burger options will strike it right with me next time.

I think I did Whack Burger wrong. I’d heard about the new burger joint that had opened in Covington right across the street from the Madison Theatre and wanted to go check it out. I needed to take the burger to go though so I ordered and ran … and that was the wrong move. The«Whack» in Whack Burger is not, as you might think, from someone going, «Aw, that’s whack.» What it is, on the other hand, is the sound that a superhero makes when he punches a bad guy in the face. It could have easily been called«Bam Burger» or «Pow Burger.» Whack Burger it is. This is a small one-room burger joint. You order at the counter and then sit at one of the tables around the room. The most noticeable piece of decoration is the giant wall of comics to the left and it’s pretty damn fun. I enjoyed reading these one-off pages as my burger cooked. Now, that’s point two: the burger and the freshness. These are not burgers sitting, waiting to be picked up. You order and it takes at least 15 minutes to cook. They want to do it as fresh and as warm and as awesome as possible. Whack Burger has a serious menu for burgers and you’re bound to find one you like. BBQ Burgers. Jambalaya burgers. Curry Chutney burgers. Brie and apple burgers. Mediterranean burgers. Whatever you want, they have. The burgers, as it turns out, are also giant. Monster things that come wrapped in paper and are fun to hold with two hands they’re so big. It’s $ 10 for a burger and a side and totally worth it. I got the burger with the fried green tomato, because why the hell not. Now, because of the freshness, my burger wasn’t all it could be when I took it to go. Being cold sort of ruined the deliciousness I knew this burger once had. It looked amazing, but tasted like it needed to be warmed. Ah well, lesson learned. Next time, I sit down and eat it fresh right at one of those tables, reading comics, kicking bad guy’s asses … you know, a typical day in the life of a hero.

I came to Whack Burger for a party in my tummy, but I left with a lighter wallet and no party was to be had. My coworkers and I went here for our lunch hour, and judging by the line I thought it was due to the popularity… turns out everyone was just waiting forever for their food. It took 45 minutes for our burgers to show up, which had to be wrapped as ‘to go’ due to the long cook time. I ordered the green chile & egg burger on salad, and the burger itself was charred and over salted, much like a big Burger King burger, except $ 9.99! The green chile relish had no flavoring besides what appeared to be a can of green chiles dumped below the patty. The egg was burnt on the outside and the white was still raw and inedible. The patty itself was inconsistently cooked and lacked any type of sauce or flavor components. My side was the broccoli slaw, which was unimpressive. The slaw was underseasoned and bitter. My coworkers got the french fries, which although were thick cut, seemed somewhat raw and undercooked in the center. I give this place a solid two thumbs down. Myself and six other coworkers are all quite disappointed. Whack burger is just that… whack. If you want a good burger, even McDonald’s outdoes this place with service and consistency of quality and THAT says a lot.
