Pretty great wings & they have a variety of other options such as fried rice, etc. We have had both takeout and dine-in and the owner is super-nice and always brings us something new to try every time we come. Highly recommended.

I get the feeling from this place that it survives only because of it’s proximity to Newton County High School(which is the only reason we went there). The sign outside claimed this place to be a destination for lumpia, which is a bit odd since it’s a wing place, but nonetheless. We stepped inside to a small dining room with a counter to order from. Had all the makings for a tucked away neighborhood gem or the bad kind of dive restaurant… Unfortunately, it was the second. My girlfriend ordered the Huli Huli(but explained it could not be made with bell peppers due to an allergy), and the woman taking the order said she would make sure they took them off. We clarified that taking them off wouldn’t work, because if they were cooked with her food it would make her sick. She sort of laughed(an odd reaction, but maybe she was just nervous?), but acknowledged our request. I ordered a wing combo with the«hellhole» sauce, which appeared to be the second hottest if the flavors were listed in order of spiciness. We also got an order of 6 lumpia to share. The lumpia was brought in two waves, 4 then 2. They were all pretty good, but the second wave tasted fresher. If we’d stopped here, the meal would have been decent and they’d have gotten 3 or 4 stars from me. But it didn’t. When the rest of our food came, my girlfriend took one bite of the fried rice(which the menu didn’t say came with it — it just said rice, so we expected white, but no big deal). She immediately pushed it across the table because the rice was made with bell peppers. I finished her Huli Huli, and was thoroughly disappointed. The shrimp was a little overcooked and it was absolutely drowned in a sauce that was basically the same as the dipping sauce for the lumpia and horribly too sweet in that much quantity. The fried rice was fine and unremarkable. The wings were ok. They were overcooked a little and also drenched in sauce, which made them a little soggy. The sauce was the best thing about the wings. It wasn’t all that spicy given the name, but it had a smokiness to it that was pleasant. The fries were also unremarkable. Altogether disappointing unless you’re a high schooler just wanting something different that the cafeteria or a bucket of wings for the game and maybe some lumpia. We mentioned to the woman who took our order as we were leaving that their fried rice had bell peppers in it and that my girlfriend couldn’t eat it, and we had had to switch meals. She laughed(again) and said«oh yeah, you’re right it does.» Apparently she doesn’t understand the serious implications of having a food allergy and feeling terrible all day because you’ve ingested something your body will not digest. Needless to say we won’t ever be back, and luckily we are rarely in the Covington area. But if we ever were, we wouldn’t be stopping here and I would encourage everybody else to steer clear too.
