I would like to review Jimmy Wan’s gracious customer service. My wife and I have ordered many times from Jimmy Wan’s. We like to order specifically their sweet and sour chicken and General Tso’s. Let me just say that it’s the best General Tso’s I’ve ever had. So there’s my review on the food. In the timeframe that we’ve ordered from them, my wife has become gluten free. We have ordered specifically the gluten free sweet and sour for her before(no breaded chicken). Today I placed a take out order as I drove home from Philly. Out of habit I ordered the sweet and sour(not asking for gluten free) but it wasn’t until I arrived at home did I realized it was regular sweet and sour chicken. I called Jimmy Wan’s to explain to them what happened and they graciously replaced my wife’s meal for a gluten free one, at no extra charge. I feel some restaurants would have made me pay for the additional meal but I am thankful to Jimmy Wan’s for not doing so. I thought I would repay them by leaving this review. I hope it helps! P. S. The food is amazing.

The food is excellent. I have eaten there many times. The sushi is fresh and delicious. The place gets busy so make reservations. Don’t expect a a cheap dinner. It’s expensive for Asian fusion but it is very good.

Visited again on Friday. Food was good as usual. We ate near the bar area where the servers and bartenders continued to serve an extremely loud and VERYDRUNK group. For a somewhat classy restaurant, this was very disappointing. The ownership and management need to look into this. I haven’t seen people this drunk since college, and I don’t believe Jimmy Wans wants to be known for this. Pathetic.

I would rather have the dim sum carts pushed by servers and the diners allowed to point what they wanted. Since the Chinese food scene here has not matured like that of NYNY, LA, SF and San Diego this restaurant will be my best Chinese restaurant in Pittsburgh for now. The cooking is reminiscent of eastern Chinese cooking Hokkien to be precise. The«wok hei» essence is in the food, imparted by genuine wok stir fry technique. Mark of a good restaurant. Nothing is sweet or syrupy with the sauce because of their sparing use of sugar. I recommend thin noodles with hint of curry.

Definitely the best restaurant in Cranberry. I’ve eaten here at least a dozen times and I’ve never once had a meal I didn’t like. The sushi is always vey fresh and well made. The Kung Pao filet is one of the tastiest dishes you will ever have. A staple for a great dinner in the Cranberry area

Good Chinese restaurant. Not overpriced at all. Half of the Peking duck is more than enough for 2 and is just 22 $, can’t complain about that. I had the classic dumplings as a starter, they taste verry good.

Absurdly underwhelmed! So, i was taking a legal continuing education course in Cranberry and checked out Unilocal for the best stuff around to hit up for dinner. This place had pretty good reviews, and being a Asian food junkie, I had to try it. Mostly, I HAD to see what $ 18.00 Kung Pao chicken tasted like. Answer? Bland and soggy. The atmosphere in the joint is hipster trendy, a little too dark for the sunny day outside. The staff was nice enough, but the food was just barely average. For $ 18+ I was morbidly disappointed. Soggy chicken and too-few peanuts in a lackluster sauce with way too much fish sauce. Did I mention that the KUNGPAOCHICKENWASEIGHTEENDOLLARS!!! They were even unable to upgrade my choice to fried rice, and the sweet smelling Jasmine rice that came with it was far too gummy to be fresh. I would rather have had take-out from a corner Chinese restaurant any day. And I could have four orders for the overpriced mediocrity served at Wans. The only reason i gave it 2 stars is the staff.

The food wasn’t terrible, but it certainly isn’t anything to write home about. When I see a menu with more than two pages, I am ready for disappointment. No one, not even the Iron Chef, can make everything on a 10 plus page menu correctly. This place is no exception. And their menus are at least 10 pages. Most of the dishes are deep fried and covered in sugar. I understand, that is generic Chinese food, nothing special. It’s not poorly executed, it’s just nothing special. The real kicker to the dinner was the service, in a word, terrible. We were seated, and she took our drink orders. Then after a longer than necessary period of time, we grab a waitress(not ours mind you) and ask what happened to our drinks, «Oh the bar is really backed up». Then viola, the drinks appear. We order our food, appetizers and main course. And after another long period of time, we ask where our food is. Some of the apps now come out, but, the sushi bar is really backed up. Hmmm. So we eventually ask about the sushi, and finally it arrives. And then — surprise — the kitchen is backed up too(weird, right?). A few of our dishes don’t arrive on time, but not all of them, which is actually kind of worse, because you don’t want to be rude and eat in front of the other people who haven’t gotten their food. Overall not a great experience, and wouldn’t return.

So this is a general Jimmy Wan’s review. This was my first time back in awhile. My previous couple visits I had the sushi based on the recommendations of others. Honestly, I was pretty unimpressed. The fish did not seem as fresh as it should, keeping in mind that even average sushi should be ultra fresh. It didn’t taste rotten or bad, just not quite fresh. Just me though, nobody else seemed to think so. So trying again I just got a normal lunch special which was much much better. I had the Black Pepper Chicken, which was really good. The brown sauce had the proper consistency, the chicken was cooked perfectly with just the right amount breading. The black pepper was also pronounced enough to more than detect a hint, but not so much as to be overpowering. The hot and spicy soup was good. As expected. The service was also more than adequate. The food was much better than I expected only because of my previous negative experience. Otherwise, it would have been a good meal. I’d eat here again for sure, but probably would still avoid the sushi.

My family and I have been coming here since the day they have open! This place does not disappoint at all. We would come here with parties of 15 – 20 people and they are very accommodating and great with service. The location of this place is east to get too! Parking can be an issue because of the other stores in this shopping plaza. The restaurant is laid out nicely! The bar is located right when you walk in. This area actually has a nice big city ambiance and sometimes it makes you forget that you are in cranberry! They have a full bar and a great selections on tap. I usually always go with Sapporo and the prices of Sapporo here are about average to the other bars I’ve been too. This time, I went with the eel and avocado wrap! It was definitely delicious and pleased with my choice! My sister and I went with the lunch special of General Tso chicken with white meat and brown rice. The chicken was fantastic and cooked to perfection! The rice was also cooked perfectly! It also came with miso soup. The miso. Soup here is one of the better places. I love all the stuff they put in it here! Some greens, onions, mushrooms, and an excellent broth! We are definitely a fan of this place. We would come back here for sure!

Great place. Not your ordinary run of the mill Chinese restaurant. They have a really nice lounge to hang out and have drinks from a modern full bar. They have a very respectable sushi bar with some nice roll selections. Lastly a really awesome dining area with lots of selection for every palate. Some dishes are a little pricy but not too bad. Service was just ok to me. I was recommended to this place by a dear friend and I would do the same.

Expensive but DELICIOUS. The General Tso chicken was to die for… sauce was just right. Complimentary banana spring roll for birthday dessert.

Wow. For the prices charged, I was quite disappointed with the food. Very little filling on the Alaskan sushi I ordered, but lots of rice. Same with the spring roll, it was mostly wrapper. with a small amount of dry filling. The chicken and hot garlic was tasty. But again, more veggies than chicken. I will not be going back. Chens is a much better choice.

I was looking for a last minute reservation in the area and I did not really want to hit a large chain, so we opted for Jimmy Wan’s. The restaurant offers three different settings. They have a lounge/bar area on one side of the restaurant, a sushi bar/count on the other side, along with two large dining areas. Plenty of seating is available, though it still can get quite crowded. I have always liked the service I have gotten here, whether at the bar, in the dining area or just ordering take-out. I have always been warmly greeted when I have showed up. Tonight was no different. The service throughout the night was pleasant, courteous and friendly. They have a rather large menu that features many different styles of chicken, lobster, beef, scallops, shrimp, vegetarian… etc. Plenty of noodle, rice, sushi and soup options as well. They have a fully stocked bar with a decent selection of beer and wine. The wine is quite affordable as well. Overall it is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants to visit. Though it can be a little on the pricier side, I have always had a good experience here.

What a huge disappointment. Really dismal food. Gross. Overpriced and incredibly unimpressive. Maybe I will try again in 2 – 3 years after I forget they sucked.

This was my first time here. It was very good. Their menu is extensive. They have dim sum, Chinese food, sushi, lo mein noodles, Peking duck, lettuce wraps. Their drinks were very good as well. The parking lot was full. We had a hard time trying to find a parking space. They were extremely busy. The only negative I can say about it is; the food took almost an hour to come out and we had to wait about 20 minutes to come from the bar. Other than that, we loved it.

I love Jimmy Wans! I work nearby and this is one of my favorite lunch spots and happy hours spots in the Cranberry area. Jimmy Wans is one of the more upscale Asian restaurants I’ve been to in recent years, and I really enjoy the hip vibe. The bar area in particular is really cool, with moody lighting and interesting artwork. One of my college roommates actually had the rehearsal dinner for her wedding at Jimmy Wans out on the side patio, which was lovely and very private since it has large hedges around it. The food is wonderful. I usually stick to my classic favorite: the General Tsos with fried rice. It’s some of the best General Tsos I’ve ever had. The lunch specials are nicely portioned and pretty affordable. I always have leftovers, even when I come for lunch. The happy hour is great as well and I enjoy meeting friends here after work. They have many different sushi rolls on special, most of them only a couple dollars. My friends and I always enjoy buying a few different sushi rolls and sharing. They also have some martinis on special which is a nice change of pace from the typical«beer and wine happy hour.» The dinner prices are a bit high, which is why I typically stick to the lunch/happy hour, although it’s nice for a dinner splurge. The waitstaff is great here and I’ve never had a bad server. If you get lucky, you’ll even get to meet Jimmy Wan himself, who comes to the restaurant often and checks in on the tables to make sure everything is up to par with his standards. Jimmy Wans is easily one of my favorite restaurants in the Cranberry/Seven Fields area!

Come here often and is always a pleasant experience! Sushi is always done consistently and quickly. Wait staff and bar tenders do a great job. Best place in Cranberry Twp. for sushi and Chinese!

The service here was pleasant. There was no wait, though we went close to closing. There is a bar/lounge side of the restaurant that looks more relaxed then a dining room area which is portrayed more upscale. Drinks are on the expensive side. I had a pomegranate mojito which was rather sweet at the beginning but once ice melted it was more drinkable. I had the sushi entrée #1 which was fresh and delicious. It reminded me of why I enjoy sushi so much. My boyfriend had one of the fried noodle dishes which was a bit bland. Entrée prices are a bit on the expensive side for the quality. Overall, I would only return for sushi as I believe there are cheaper and better option around for Asian food.

Jimmy Wan’s has been near the top of my list for favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh since it first opened under the name of Taipei. This place has always been my family’s go-to for a quality, Asian meal. The atmosphere is what really draws the eye in. The restaurant is decorated with a modern yet eastern flair. It feels very cultural with authentic vases and artwork but modern enough to fit into Cranberry Township’s up-and-coming feel. The menu itself is immersed with traditional Asian dishes as well as ones native to Taipei. What I always go for is their sushi, which is made right in front of you at their sit-in sushi bar. They serve almost any kind of sushi combination that is imaginable. Something new that I haven’t utilized before is Jimmy Wan’s bar side of the restaurant, which was added and renovated a few years back. It gives the restaurant more of a NYC/upperclass vibe with its darker décor, modern lighting fixtures, and plush seating. I went for happy hour(5pm-7pm) and sat on the bar side of the restaurant for the first time. I was pleasantly satisfied with the fast service and comfortable seating arrangements. A little dark but I understand the vibe they are going for. Their happy hour isn’t bad at all. Wine by the glass is 20% off. Draft beers are $ 2 off. Bottled beers are $ 1 off. Sake bombs are $ 4.50. What really drew me into the happy hour were the deals on the sushi and appetizers. Sushi rolls range from $ 3-$ 12. 8 pieces of chicken wings are $ 4. Also, you can get an egg roll for $ 2! Always a good time when I go. Great food. Great drinks. Great atmosphere. I’ve met Jimmy himself before and he’s one of the nicest guys. I would recommend introducing yourself to him and saying hi.
