J Crew

This is the second time I went to see what J Crew is all about. The first time we walked in no one even looked at us so we left! We met the wonderful Helene! She greeted us on the way in and was very helpful from telling me the sizes and what was new! She even was helpful to the fitting room and to showing new colors and suggestions! She is just a great all around salesperson and is very knowledgeable! I will be back very very soon!

There are few times when a shopping experience is truly remarkable. These occurrences are even more rare at chain stores. But let me tell you, my visit last weekend to the J. Crew at Garden City has been on my mind all week. In a good way.
I was a little wary at first seeing as my size (or at least what I thought was my size) was not available in store. I thought about bailing to save face but my fabulous sales associate Linda wasn’t having it. She knew the sizing system and insisted I try on a few frocks that I swore would be one size too small. (I’d like to give a shout out to vanity sizing).
Linda really listened to what I was looking for and helped style a work week’s worth of on-​point looks and even scoured the clearance rack for a fun & funky skirt that I would have never thought to try on.
End of review right? Nope. So clearance items at J. Crew are marked as final sale. I get home with my new duds and as I’m removing all the tags, I discover (gasp) a hole in the aforementioned skirt. So I ring the store and speak with another wonderful associate named Cindy who proceeds to search high and low for a replacement for me and agrees that I can exchange it.
I was thoroughly impressed by this experience, especially considering the fact that I refuse to even step in to the J. Crew at PVD Place during to the snotty sales asses and poor merch mix.
Totally worth the trip to Cranston!

Awesome store and even better staff. Brendan is the man, he went out of his way to contact me to let me know my jacket came in. Thanks for going the extra mile.

Okay, so it’s a huge retailer and there are a bajillion J. Crew stores all over everywhere, but you guys — this one is AWESOME. It’s brand new, it’s in GC and it has it’s very own mens shop, which in all seriousness takes so much of the scary out of shopping for my husband it’s not even funny.
We actually came here to return a shirt he’d gotten as a gift. Much to my surprise and delight, upon entering the lovely (excuse me, cool) men’s shop, my husband started: eh-​hem: browsing. This is something I have never, ever seen my darling husband do in the nearly 10 years we have been together. That alone should tell you how approachable, unfussy and well-​designed this little annex is.
The exchange process was a breeze, and the woman who helped us was friendly and warm. I couldn’t help but be drawn in to the space a little — the natural light that floods the clean, open room really invites you to peruse as it leaves nothing to obstruct one from seeing the clothing and accessories, of which there are positively loads.
I am quite comfortable dubbing this as the nicest J. Crew I have ever been to, and now that I know I can take my husbee here without him turning into Oscar the Grouch, all the more applause. Definitely a welcome addition to the mall that doesn’t really seem like a mall that is Garden City.
