I’ve been talking about, planning, discussing with friends and attempting to make it to try this place for what feels like 2 years now and it just never happened. Well last night it happened… I had actually sampled a few items from their truck at the carousel village food truck festival a couple weeks ago and thought the food was amazing. I wanted to visit the store front and see if I had missed any options. The menu is full of hidden gems and some in your face options. There are items that I don’t even like in most food and I’m willing to eat it here. The wife and I went around 8pm on a Wednesday and the place was rocking. The girl behind the counter is a magician with handling the orders, the phone, giving out orders as they are ready. A true master at her craft, and the fact that she was wearing a Joy Division tank top was icing on the cake! The food moved quickly and after ordering some tacos, chips and salsa and a BBQ chicken quesadilla, we had our dinner and dug in. These are some of the best tacos I’ve ever had, homemade, restaurant, you name it and I think I would pick these over any other. The quesadilla was made to perfection, and every bite reminded me that I have found my new taco joint. For $ 2 a taco, how can you go wrong!!! You can’t, and that’s why I’m having a friend pick us up some for lunch right now. I guess you could say I’m Loco for taco truck!

My boyfriend and I love this place. They are cheap and so delicious. The place is small and you order at the counter. The food is usually brought over to you or your name is called. Finding seating might be a little tricky during busy times. They offer plenty of meat options and a vegan meat substitute or wild mushrooms. The food tastes fresh and comes out quick. My boyfriend said he would eat there everyday if he could. I def suggest this place for an affordable and scrumptious meal.

Best tacos around ! Place is small and can get busy but the wait is never bad. It’s BYOB so if you plan on eating there bring some beers. The PBJ burrito is my favorite. It’s pulled pork, jalapeños and rice.

Love Poco Loco! Great Burritos. I love their green salsa. Friendly staff and quick service. Very accommodating with special orders. We go there at least once a week sometimes more.

Great tacos very helpful staff. We pulled in Friday night half an hour before closing and made special requests. The woman at the counter helped us get what we wanted. KC is allergic to pepper and we were in a taco joint — go figure. The counter lady knew the ingredients and preparation of the menu items and steered us clear of problems. Our whole group enjoyed on meal. The funguy tacos were very good. I had the TexMex wrap. Everything was fresh and delicious. Too bad they didn’t sell beer.

I had really high expectations for this place, we were expecting some authentic Mexican food, but instead we received a knock off, wanna-be version of Mexican food. The guacamole we ordered had a weird purée, almost water-like consistency, the burrito’s were horrible because there was really no flavor, very bland. If you know Mexican food you would know they are known for their rich flavorings and if you decide to order a quesadilla from there, I advise you to have at least a gallon of water to wash it down because they are drier than the Sahara desert, they should come with a choking hazard sign. The only good thing I could say about this place is that the ingredients are fresh.

My first time eating Mexican food without getting sick, portions well managed, fresh ingredients, love their Nacho’s, best tacos in town. Wish they had more options to choose from, friendly staff

It’s been a few years since my first review but Poco Loco is still my #1 place for tacos! I order the same thing every time.. .. nachos, a few BLTaco’s and PBJ’s. The staff is always very friendly and super fast. On a recent visit he had a slight hiccup, we sat outside and our tacos came out quickly but our nachos never did.. . we popped back inside and they were very apologetic and whipped us up a new batch. To make up for the mistake they gave us a gift card to come back.. . that’s awesome customer service. We would have been back anyways because it was a minor mistake and their tacos are that good but this just solidified them as my favorite restaurant & food truck in the area!!!

I have been finding myself in here a lot more often lately, what with the truck having been on the bench for the winter, and their changing mobile hours/locations. We had a good thing going late Wednesday nights across from E&O; they come around a little too early for me now. It isn’t such a bad trade though. The store has changing daily specials that you won’t find on the truck, like shrimp po’boys and funyun topped tacos to name a few past hits. It is also the only spot where you will find my favorite taco of them all, the Funguy(mushroom) taco! I still wish they had these on the truck though. Otherwise, the food is just as good, nomadic or settled. If you’re into spicy food like my boyfriend is, try the Napalm burrito. He likes to amp himself up for how delicious it’s gonna be, then cry about how much his mouth is on fire once it’s done :) The girl behind the counter is always happy to help and explain any funky titles you might read off the specials board(What be a «Fun-yum» ya’ll?). They have a few small tables adorned with Tabasco sauce, so you can eat in if you choose. Don’t expect to find a bathroom here to wash up in though, you’re on your own there, taco hands.

Coming from LA my expectations of quality tacos was set high, but I must say Poco Loco has met the bar. To keep things simple I sampled four of the simple tacos and the nachos. The menu is a perfect size, I would hate to see more items added that complicate the process. The chicken and pulled pork tacos were fresh, tasty and a good portion. The beef and chorizo were tasty but not as flavorful as the pork and chicken. I hate finding over complicated or overstuffed tacos. The best tacos south of the border are small and are simplified in their ingredients, something Poco Loco accomplished, especially with their Pico de Gallo. I would only like to see the flour tortillas a bit warmer and crispier. The sheet pan nachos were a great portion for sharing, forks are a must because the volume of toppings renders the chips useless as finger food. Very fresh cheese, tasty beans and again the Pico de gallo. The only downside coming to Poco Loco is the lack of a public restroom. The situation can become especially precarious considering it is operating a BYOB liquor license. Friendly staff and a pricing system which includes the tax are big pluses to the operational excellence displayed here, clearly from their food truck roots. I will return and keep exploring the depths of the menu. As for my following, you are now in the know, I recommend a pit stop to Cranston’s east side for some Poco Loco!

Not your typical taco spot. They have some interesting flavors going on here. Stop by with a friend who talked this place up and it didn’t dissappoint. I tried three different soft tacos. Napalm(chicken, jalepenos, and a creamy spicy sauce), Funguy(sauteed mushrooms and some other stuff in there I can’t remember), and the green monsta(guac, beans, lettuce again don’t remember everything in there but was my fave). I also tried the avocado fritters and they were delicious and served with the previously mentioned spicy cream sauce. Yum. Not the friendliest service here and it’s pretty small but the tacos are on point.

The service was great and we got our food quickly. I’m not so sure about the tacos. They were good but definitely east coast style. If you are looking for authentic this doesn’t hit the spot.

Wasn’t sure what to expect… Being used to some delicious Tex-Mex in Texas I wasn’t sure what to expect from this little Rhode Island spot. My boyfriend and I were starving so we ordered a lot — burrito, chips and salsa, tostada, tacos and nachos. It was all pretty good! The beans were really good and had good spice and I liked basically everything! The only thing I think needs improvement is their chips & salsa… Wasn’t my favorite and maybe they could have different levels of heat/salsa options? Just a thought. Overall, very impressed!

Great tacos, fresh ingredients and affordable! It’s also a BYOB. Perfect place for a small group for a casual dinner. I loved the food truck and the stand alone shop makes it convenient to stop in any time.

Good prices and good food yet always taste like they are missing something. It’s very inexpensive clean and the people at the counter are very friendly. I recommend it for a quick bite to eat. …

Really delicious and fresh food. I should have stopped by this place sooner! The tacos are cheap($ 2) and large. I love the thick slices of jalapeño in the PBJ that I got. The mexi-cali wrap is some new level of decadence for me. Fried avocado fritters wrapped up with pico de gallo, lettuce, cheese. I don’t know what else. I just ate it and it was so filling. I have my eye on their crispy tostada and quesadillas for the next time I feel a need for Mexican. Since it’s summer now, that will be pretty soon because who wants to cook in this heat?

I’ve got nothing bad to say about this place. Awesome menu selection, the service staff are super awesome, delicious and consistent food. The SouthWest Burrito is amazing, the Green Monstah is delicious, avocado fritters, nachos, tacos, quesadillas, AND there is a variety of ways to make things began. There’s soyrizo to replace chorizo in the southwest, roasted mushrooms, black, pinto, and refried beans, guac can replace dairy creaminess. They have a sweet-chili honey BBQ sauce that is amazing, slap that on anything. They’re salsas and guac is fresh, and the food comes out pretty quickly. There’s no bar or beer, but there’s a liquor store right across the street and you can BYOB, which rocks. Not a lot of seating, no public bathroom can be a setback, but the environment is more tailored for a quick drop in and eat deal, not to hang out. There’s an old school pinball machine which is kinda fun and vintage, and there’s a TV. Long story short, despite the above mentioned potential set backs, I still give this place 5 stars because the food and service is amazing. It’s a regular spot for me to grab dinner that can be healthy, fresh, and cheap — tacos are only $ 2.00! Keep an eye out for their food truck, too. It’s usually on the east side near the pub crawl of the Avery and the scurvy dog and some other bar I can’t remember right now. Check it out, I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

Wow this is a hard one. I really wanted to love this place but it my experience was subpar. First of I got the fried avocado and for the price I was expecting something really special but they were sort of bland and easily forgettable. The tacos were your standard fare. I am convinced I could make them. However the tacos are a good price. I wish they would have heated the tortillas. I think that would have amped up my experience. Bottom Line: Come here expecting adequate food for a solid price.
