Jay and his team did our flowers for our wedding at The Dorrance on 9÷26÷15. They were STUNNING. I asked Jay for the WOW” factor and boy did he deliver! I was in awe of how beautiful the room looked when we walked in. I did half high, half low centerpieces. He made my vision look even BETTER than I envisioned (and I have HIGH standards). All of our bouquets were gorgeous as well. I was still enjoying my beautiful bridal bouquet at home a week later.
Don’t hesitate to book Golden Gate. Jay and his team are amazing. He also did the up lighting, which made the room even more beautiful. I received countless compliments on how gorgeous the flowers were. I can’t give them enough praise!

I had such a fabulous experience with Jay at Golden Gate. I am an out-​of-​town bride, who grew up in Rhode Island and Jay made all my dreams come true with his beautiful bouquets, uplighting and centerpieces. His hands on and personal approach made the experience free of anxiety and it was like he knew who we were after us just meeting once. He kept in touch and made sure we were thoughtful in our ideas. He is a pro! Listen to him!
I didn’t really get to thank him because the day of I was in such amazing wedding shock, but he has a beautiful talent and he managed to make the Biltmore look ever more amazing than it does normally!

Do NOT trust what Jay tells you! They messed up everything. I made it clear that I wanted my flowers to look natural and not so stiff looking like someone put it together. I wanted light pink flowers because my bridesmaids had light pink dresses. I also asked for my bouquet to be small and he said that he wouldn’t make it any smaller than he thought I wouldn’t «like it». (How would he know what I like!?!) and kept my bouquet at $ 150,. Which I did not care for but he told me I had no choice and I wouldn’t be happy, come to the day of my wedding… I had a huge bouquet that I hated, it took away from my beautiful dress because of how huge it was, I absolutely hated it. My bridesmaids bouquets where BRIGHT pink! When I made it extra clear I wanted soft pink. The bouquets were put together so stiff looking and it did not look natural. I wanted them loose and flowing and they did nothing of that. I called Jay and left a message. I never got a call back. I never got any money back, nothing!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME… BECAUSE THE DAY OF YOUR WEDDING WILL COME AND THEY DROP THEM OFF AND DONT CARE ABOUT YOU AND WHAT YOU SPECIFICALLY ASKED FOR!

If you are looking for a florist for your event, you need to hire Golden Gate! First, Jay is a pleasure to work with and he truly listens to your ideas and makes what you envision a reality. I had a very specific idea of what I wanted for my wedding centerpieces and Jay did everything to make it work. The centerpieces on our tables and our bouquets were absolutely stunning.

Jay and his wife are amazing! We used Golden Gate for our wedding flowers and they were beyond stunning! They worked with us to make sure each and every detail was perfect and were flexible with changes in the months/​weeks leading up to the wedding day. We had beautiful, full centerpieces that didn’t get lost on the tables like I’ve seen happen at other weddings. My bouquet was amazing and lasted the entire night. They had fantastic ideas for the grooms/groomsmen’s boutineers, as I didn’t want a plain old rose! Everything complimented and worked with our décor, they also did a fantastic job with fresh flowers for our cake topper!
They will also work with any budget and offer other services such as uplighting (we loved!) and aisle runners!

I used Golden Gate Studios for my wedding flowers, and had a SPECTACULAR experience. Not only were my flowers beautiful, but they lasted all night long and truly exceeded my expectations.
I worked extensively with Jay Lane to custom design my centerpiece as well as bouquets, and was so thrilled with the response. He also worked with me on price to ensure that I got everything I wanted for a price that worked within my budget. And he could not be a nicer or easier person to work with.
I would highly recommend Golden Gate as a wedding florist (and in fact I have already recommended them many times in person!)

I used Golden Gate for a large spring event in Newport, and was horribly disappointed in what was delivered to us. The flowers themselves were fine, but the vases were hideous! Tall, bright chartreuse vases and shiny purple ones took the place of the low, clear glass cubes I had ordered. Just imagine how they looked with our royal blue and white table linens.
I subsequently wrote a letter of complaint to Jay which was ignored — then Karma had us meet in an elevator this past weekend in Newport, and I told him that I was still waiting for a reply to my letter — he just shrugged. I asked «Is this how you do business?» and he just shrugged again.
BEWARE, because if you get your flowes one hour before your big event and they are UGLY, there’s not much you can do about it, and I guarantee you won’t get much satisfaction out of Jay Lane of Golden Gate studios!
PS: You get what you pay for, so don’t pay him very much at all!

We used Golden Gate Studios for our wedding flowers and were incredibly impressed! Jay was a pleasure to work with and offered some great ideas that worked out beautifully. When I had to make a last-​minute change, he was more than accommodating. The flowers were fresh and beautifully arranged. They were delivered on-​time and had little tags to tell us which arrangement or bout went to which person. Best of all? I gave them a small budget amount and they met it in a beautiful way! I could have paid double at other stores for the same thing and there was absolutely no sacrifice on quality or beauty. Thanks, Jay & co!
