Wish I could give«zero» stars. The service was good. But the oyster so gross, I had to do everything I could not to throw up. Seriously. My traveling companion ordered beer battered and that was so discussing and stringing. I ordered the fresh ones but they came fried some how.(Maybe they don’t serve fresh oysters… that’s the only guess I have as to why they have to come cooked.). They were just as greasy as the«fresh» veggies… which were over cooked and dripping in oil. I did hear the next table over stating how good their fried cod fish was.(Maybe you need to order a dish meant to be fried to death!!!)

We spent a night in the motel across the street and being we didn’t know the area we chose to eat at the first place we saw. Staff was friendly food was good. No complaints. Thanks

Great place with a note of traditional seaport feel in mind. Generous portion of food with option of healthy sides. I liked the Ling Cod with lemon pepper and sautéed vegetables. Attentive and quick service. The locals seems to like this place. I would recommend to anyone who stop by Crescent city for work or leisure. The reason for 3 stars is that the ingredients are pretty mediocre. The overall experience is good if you are looking for a healthy seafood place in a causal local spot, this is the one!

After reading some of the reviews for restaurants around here, we were about to just keep driving but wanted chowder. All I can say is wow. Immediate service. Great recommendations and we could have fed all those teenage hitchhiker a we saw back in the park with all this food. The portions are massive and very good quality.

4 stars for the fish! Driving up the coast, one cannot help but develop a hunger for seafood. Unless you are wanting an upscale seafood experience, which I completely understand, this place is as good as any! The food was good, the service was better, and I loved the no frill seaside atmosphere. I can only assume, being a clamshell throw away from the ocean, the seafood is super fresh. The clam chowder was my favorite, but everything I tried was really good. If a low key seaside restaurant is what you crave– don’t pass this place!

Alright service, okay calm chowder. basically Dennys food with higher prices. Would do 2.5 stars if I could. Don’t really recommend, plus denny’s is only a mile away so.

They have the Best clam chowder that I had anywhere in town, and I tried them all. Good food and great service.

The service made me feel special which is not something that really happens to me in this day and age in a restaurant. Don’t be put off by the roadside diner look of the place. They have great food. I ate breakfast there and the salmon omelette was huge and tasted very fresh. The one caveat; the meal was huge. A little more than I would want for breakfast.

Eh bland biscuits and gravy and pretty average hashbrowns. For a small town they’ve got decent breakfast options here. If you haven’t been here before, check it out for yourself. The view is good and the food is decent. I will go out on a limb and say that Portland has turned me into a bit of a food snob. Haha.

Had breakfast here before we rolled out of town. Great service and good food. Kind of a quirky place visually. They sat us in the bar because we had a large group and it’s pretty much a locals dive bar. But hey, the food was good. Would definitely come back.

Folks, i don’t know why you’re looking for SanFran gourmet food here – its diner food and its good. When you’ve been in the backwoods for four or five days, smell like bear scat, and want a comfort-food hot meal, this is a great stop. Yes, the clam chowder was so thick, it held up my spoon(see photo for proof). The breakfast burrito has everything you want – eggs, cheese, chorizo, and bAcon. You can get a hot cinnamon bun and the ice-cream scooped size butter will make your eyes roll inside your head. Really nice waitstaff, hard workin folks. It is what it is here so come in and enjoy.

Horrible!!! Not edible. The only good thing about this place is the staff. Friendly and good service. I ordered salmon which I was told was fresh wild. I could not eat it as it tasted fishy and was so very over cooked. The salad bar is dismal. This place is probably ok if you like huge plates full of greasy, deep fried foods — fried in damaged oil and nothing fresh at all. I sent the whole thing back. The place smelled of grease from cheap damaged and overused oil. You can smell it even from the outside. Don’t eat here if you value your health. Décor is right out of a nightmare about the 70’s and the signage resembles the county fair. Makes you wonder about who would want to serve up such dismal fare… Have you no pride?

Ate here twice while staying across the street at the Curly Redwood Lodge. First time was breakfast, a huge vegetarian omelet, which was very tasty and delicious. The second time was dinner and I ordered a chicken breast Hawaiian style. The chicken breast was a bit dry, but overall, the meal was very good. The service is very friendly, and the prices are right. You won’t be disappointed.

Seafood is fresh, and I am surprised to find a seafood restaurant can make good steak. Very nice service too!

Clam chowder is only recommend if you like your chowder thick and salty. Besides that the seafood platter with fried fish and grilled shrimp(you have to ask for them this way) was excellent. The place has a very fishy smell, which is to be expected when your in a seafood restaurant. The server was excellent and even suggested extra bowls since we were sharing the chowder. We would stop here again.

Ordered the steamer clams and never looked back! I am from the Midwest, so most of my clam experiences have always been limited to the fried variety. That and the occasional chowder. The clams were the perfect texture and retained all of the unique flavor without being interrupted by that briny, fishy taste that often disrupts promising seafood.

Von aussen eher unscheinbar aber sehr feines frisches Essen. Um 13:00Uhr mussten wir immernoch ca. 15min auf einen freien Tisch warten. Hauptsächlich Einheimische. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich.

Friendly & attentive I see a lot of locals here that should tell me this place is good. Not sure what’s up with those one star comments. Food was great! We had hamburger steak with gravy & rice, fish & chips, orster & chips, bread chowder bowl, & bowl of chowder. Portions were LARGE!!! Everything went well. Only suggestion I would say add more stuff to the salad bar.

I ate h ere because it had a lot of cars out front, apparently mostly locals, though the signage and outside decoration are a bit touristy in appearance. Clam chowder was thick and fairly decent. Grilled trout rather dry and unexceptionable. The rice that came with it was good.
