Irene’s Little Bar

What a strange little bar (in a house). First of all, park in back (No Outlet) and enter via the deck. I stopped in during happy hour on a Tuesday and the patrons definitely noticed an «outsider.» I didn’t feel uncomfortable though (even if I was the only guy wearing a suit). Everyone seemed to know one another and there was even a convivial card game going on at one of the tables. The beers were cold (and cheap) and the bar matron was pleasant and efficient. The bar does allow smoking and despite the humming Smoke Eater above the bar, a haze of cigarette smoke filled the space. If you don’t want to smell like a dirty ashtray, I would stay away — if you’re a smoker, fire-​up!

Place was kinda dead but it was early on a Monday night. Was hoping for a better selection on the drafts but only had 2 domestic on tap for 3.00 and better beer in a bottle for 3.75.
All said I’m sure it can be a fun place when things start happening. Also could be just the ticket if you want a quiet place to have a few.

If there was a telethon to raise money to save this place, I’d donate!
Not that I think this place needs saving, it seems to do very well on it’s own as a little neighborhood spot in the ground floor of a converted house.
A buddy took me here as it’s close to his house. It’s dive-​ish as the crowd is mixed with those you’d find at a dive bar with younger college aged locals. They have free popcorn that you serve yourself that’s super salty and goes well with the $ 3 draft beers, which are that price all the time (so cheap!). Good t.v. viewing which makes me think this place serves as a sports bar when local teams play.
They have one pool table, a good sized deck for outdoor drinkin’, friendly bartenders and a chill crowd.
Are you a smoker? They sell about 6 different brands of cigarettes at the bar to quench your nicotine craving. So yes, smoking is allowed inside.
