Wah Wah… Those pretty much sum up my feelings about the Crescent Lodge. I’ve been there a few times with my husband an in-laws for dinner and generally the food served has been less than stellar. I’ve gotten the beer battered shrimp app which is actually pretty tasty, my mother in law usually ends up getting that as her meal. My husband the last time he was there had the kobe beef bolognese and was left pretty disappointed as it’s one of his favorite dishes. I don’t think pappardelle is the right choice of pasta for that dish to begin with, but it seemed to really miss the mark flavor wise. The last time I was there I had the chicken gemilli. The dish was so loaded with garlic it was practically inedible. I also had something else there last time that was heavy on the garlic, I just can’t remember what dish it was. Needless to say, if you do stop by the Crescent Lodge, I would stick with a meat, pork or fish entrée as I just think it’s safer. Overall though, I don’t think I’ll be heading back…

We are local to the Crescent Lodge and have dinner there 2 or 3 times a year. We were there last night, and it was predictably very pleasant. The staff has been around(generally) for quite a while and they do their jobs very well. They manage to always make a dinner there feel special. The food is excellent. We shared a mixed greens salad(they are big!), my husband has the Chilean sea bass special, and I had grilled chicken with tomatoes, artichoke hearts, and broccoli. Tasty! We finished by sharing some wonderful NY cheesecake and coffee. One other plus that we always enjoy at the Crescent Lodge is the piano player during dinner. Makes for quite a romantic atmosphere. The place is a bit dated, but kept up well. And one last thing — the small bar area is beautiful and pleasant for hanging out before dinner!

This is an amazing beautiful and romantic place!!! Highly recommend if you want to spend a romantic getaway together. We came here during the week and after work, we were driving from New York so when we came(11:20pm)no one was there to meet us and check in, but I got instructions from the gentleman on the phone how to get the key for our cabin. We rented a cottage with a fireplace and jacuzzi I read some reviews online that the place looks very old fashion, but I like such things and for me it was perfect, very clean, no dust or anything like that, very comfortable bed. The breakfast is included in the price while you staying there, if you are coming late around 9am, nothing is left there, waffles, yogurt, juice, coffee, some fruits(breakfast is not that great, could be better) We also had a dinner at the restaurant that is on the territory of the hotel, we really had an amazing dinner, food was fresh, delicious pasta, great service. Wi fi is working only in the lobby, the same thing with the phone lol My phone was not working for 3 days while we were there, no service… I want to come to this place during the winter, they have great skiing resorts in this area I want to try

This place is beautiful and peaceful. Very outdated furniture curtains etc not on the younger side at all but still romantic. Cell reception is horrible even with the WiFi!!! But in a way it was nice you can focus on each other more. It bothered me when i wanted to find out how my child was doing and couldn’t make phone call. Dinner was great as well as happy hour. People are very nice. Breakfast not much of an option. English muffin hard boil or scrambled eggs bagels orange juice milk but saves you money so you don’t have to eat out. Very very quiet very relaxing.

Four and a half stars. J(there. I’ve named the husband.) And I stayed here for two nights(Friday/Saturday) in late November for a quick getaway for my birthday. I picked it out because it looked sweet, secluded, and old fashioned. It delivered on all three. We stayed in the Stonecrest cottage, which is a private cottage– whole little building to ourselves. The inside was charming, old fashioned, very clean, and had a fireplace and jacuzzi. We had an issue with the hot water in the jacuzzi not turning off without considerable strong arming the first night so we called the front desk and they fixed it the next morning(they did offer to send someone immediately but we declined, having managed to shut it off ourselves). We did use the Duraflame log in the fireplace the first night and were pleased to find that they did replace it to use the second night as well(I had my doubts lol). The continental breakfast in the dining room is standard hotel fare, nothing fancy. We did not eat dinner in the restaurant. The grounds are lovely and the people are friendly. I would return. Note, we have two different cell carriers– Sprint didn’t get service at all and Verizon was very minimum. They do offer free wifi though, which worked just fine in the cottage.

I’ve been here twice and I absolutely loved both experiences. It’s such a nice place for a romantic and cozy get away weekend. I’ve been here in both the winter and summer, which were awesome. Love the cottages with the jacuzzi and fireplace, it adds a wonderful touch and romantic feel

Ok I’m writing this review nearly 1 yr later. I like to travel for my birthday but since we were saving money we decided to stay local. We got a cheap deal on Groupon, the catch was the stay was from Sunday to Tuesday. Nothing was open, there was nothing to do but go for a hike and stay in. The cabin was lovely though, a working fireplace and a Jacuzzi. Breakfast was great too. I loved their sausage links. Anyway, since there wasn’t much to do, we were bored and as a result 9 months later we got a beautiful little girl ;) so yes, I’d say this place deserves 5 stars.

This review is only for the restaurant: 1. Breakfast: oily, small portions, very few options. They also cook ham and other foods into omelettes, I don’t eat ham and allergic to mushrooms. 2. Lunch: again oily food but tasted okay 3. Dinner: diner like foods, not the quality I was expecting from a inn

I selected this place as it looked like a cozy and romantic bed and breakfast place for my girlfriend’s 30th birthday. Its about as ‘away’ from it all as you can get. We had one of the mid priced rooms with a jacuzzi right in the room which help add to the romance. This place is on the older side, so don’t expect any modern amenities. However, if your goal is a romantic weekend away where all you can focus on is each other than this place is perfect. Be warned that cell reception up here is terrible and the wifi is spotty at best, but I personally think that adds to the romance of the area as it cuts down on the type of things you came to get away from in the first place. Also, they a have a later breakfast that runs until 11AM. The food itself is nothing special, but the breakfast is good and its nice that you do not have to rush out to find food and then check out all in one swoop. You can really take your time and relax which is what makes this place so nice to begin with. Finally, I have to put in a recommendation for their restaurant. We were fortunate enough to get a reservation for Saturday night. The restaurant is small, quiet, and for sure adds to the place’s aura of romance. The food was spectacular and the live pianist only enhanced the atmosphere. All in all, I highly recommend this inn and restaurant!

We had high hopes from the upscale appearance(and menu pricing to match) but the piano music and fancy tablecloth could not save this meal. The service was terrible. The waitress spilled water on the table by my daughter and had to change her linen and plate right after we sat. That was the highlight of the night. She failed to tell us there were drinks specials. The dinner specials we only learned about from the menu insert. My wife ordered a bloody mary that was bloody awful. She almost spit it out on first sip, it was way too strong. Then the waitress comes back and says the bartender wasn’t finished with it yet, and takes it back. It wasn’t much better after. For that price point, would it kill them to stick a celery stalk in the glass? Similarly priced restaurants make an elaborate bloody mary, some with bacon, some with shrimp… this was low end price blah. I ordered a special salad, fried green tomatoes salad. The slices of tomato were drenched in bland batter and I could not taste the tomato. The dressing was good, but other than these big slices of fried dough, the salad consisted of some sliced onion and a few leaves of lettuce. Very disappointing. My swordfish was ok but nothing great. My wife’s ribeye was not prepared to her request. My daughter’s ceasar salad with grilled shrimp she enjoyed. But its a salad with shrimp, would be really hard to mess that up. The homemade chips($ 3) were very good, and actually after adding salt, the most tasty item on the menu we sampled. The waitress disappeared for long periods of time. Our water glasses were small so we kept asking for refills, and I think she got tired of pouring water. Don’t know why she didn’t just leave the pitcher. Finally we flagged her down and asked what they had for dessert. She gave a very bored recitation and walked away. She never came back to ask if we’d decided on dessert. When we finally literally flagged her down(I had to wave like a lunatic) she didn’t ask if we’d decided on a dessert or not. I just asked for the check at that point. Overall, blah food and terrible service with a high check makes for a never will we return! I hope this review helps others avoid a similar mistake.

Beautiful classic old fashioned setting for a wonderful meal. White linen table cloths, soft background music and perfect lighting. Although an older place this is NOT Pocono funky. It is beautifully maintained and everything is clean and well cared for. The bar is a classic gem from the past. They have happy hour Wednesday and Thursday. Drinks come with cheese and crackers. The menu is varied. Just a tad pricey for the area especially since everything is a la carte. A side Caesar will cost you $ 6. But it is tasty. My wife raved over the osso buco. This has got to be a favorite in the Poconos. Don’t miss the chance to enjoy some expertly prepared cuisine in a lovely setting. I will be back.

Love this place, a hidden little getaway, approx. 1.5 hrs outside of NYC and worthwhile. Came here in September and stayed the weekend, spent approx. 459 with all fees incl. Resort fee. This lodge offers hottub in your room, an outdoor swimming area and a lounge with free wifi. dining here was surprisingly well, I didn’t expect it be such a romantic dinner. There is live piano and the piano guy is exceptionally well. We ordered the garlic clams for appetizer and french onion soup, both made perfect. For main course we had the porterhouse steak and they were perfect, to the T. Seasoned so well, tender and lean. We couldn’t order desert, because they were closed and we stopped in about 9pm — they close at 10 pm. I would really come here and bank on it, I will be back. Prices are so affordable, the bill for two was only $ 102. This was actually better tasting than del frisco in nyc and for a fraction of the cost. The owner himself, is present and checks on everybody to assure they are satisfied. He is a an awesome guy and offers great touring advice as well. The good: top quality at a very generous price, I would say below market price. The bad: you eventually have to leave.

I LOVE!!! this place. It’s a nice®, dress up, sort of place. I would say fine dining. but knowing how I’ve dressed and acted with who I went here with WE were probably the jerks who brought down the ‘classiness’ of this place. LOL This place has a country club, upper class dining feel/vibe to it that I like. The maître d’ is very pleasant, even when my peeps get unruly. He often asks to take my coat in winter, and will pull out chairs for the ladies. Every single member of the wait staff is great. ALWAYS a good experience here. The bartender knows his stuff. and can make a mean drink… or a fruity one just fine! The food is the best part: The bacon mustard duck(appetizer), I think is the best thing here. They have escargot– WHICH I LOVE. It is, however, unqiue in that it’s in a red wine sauce.(95% of escargots are served«light» or white. so I appriciated the twist they had on this delicacy) I love: Their side salad, meatballs, shrimp pasta, and more. I definitely am NOT the ‘standard customer’ here… but I love it. and they put up with me – with class and grace! They derserve 5 stars!

We stayed here one night in a double bed cottage. When we walked in the cottage we were hit with this stench. It just smelt old. It gave two out of the three of us sinus headaches. It was hard to fall asleep because it smelt so bad. There was no service in the cottage or anywhere at the crescent lodge. Even when we woke up and had breakfast this morning there was no service in the dining area. There is no wifi in the cottages either so you couldn’t even use that instead of your phone service. The shower was actually brand new in our cottage which was very nice. The sheets were very comfortable. The room was VERYVERY clean besides the old smell. There was no dust anywhere. It was spotless. All in all, I think if they changed the bed spread and the curtains and got rid of the old smell and updated the tv it would be a very nice and fun cottage to stay at for a weekend. Also, if they added wifi to the cottages that would be nice too. I just don’t think $ 200 a night for this cottage was worth it. I could go stay at a holiday inn express for that much, if not cheaper, and have wifi if not phone service, and have a better smelling upgraded environment. The breakfast was DELICIOUS though. It was buffet style and the food was SO good. The omelette was nice and fluffy, the bacon was perfectly crispy, the pancakes were perfect. The orange juice was very good. I loved the breakfast. I most likely won’t ever stay here again. I don’t think it’s worth it and I didn’t feel comfortable having no service and having a sinus headache from the smell of the cottage. I understand this place is in the country and it’s in the poconos and it’s no resort, but I really think they should update it a little bit.

We stayed here for a ski weekend. Overall our experience was good. Hotel: when making reservations, the receptionist had an attitude. However, the checkin was smooth and the gentleman at the front desk was nice. Our room however, was outdated and the lampshades looked kind of gross. The bed was not good and as a matter of fact it could use a new mattress. Though our room was not impressed and somewhat disappointing, our friends got a corner room and it was super cute and cozy looking. The lobby is cute and cozy with a gas fireplace. Quite romantic. Restaurant: the restaurant was better than I thought. I always have low expectations for the hotel restaurant food but I was quite surprise by the quality of the food. The escargot was great and my duck was very good. Presentation wise was meh but the duck skin was crispy and the meat was very juicy. My husband had the special which he did not like very much. For our hotel experience, I give it a 2.5 stars and restaurant I give it a 4.
