While they have nice prices the return policy sucks! I had to drive 45 minutes toy husband’s work to get his debit card. And then they have some stupid sign up that states that you must have the actual card and cannot get cash back for debit purchases. And it also claims that this is the law. Yeah, that is a complete lie. Also, I can get cash back at many other stores for a debit card purchase. So, stop lying to your customers and just state that it is your policy. I just don’t make big purchases from there anymore. And when I bought net lights from there they kept pulling apart when trying to open them up for my bushes at Christmas. Not happy at all. So, if you buy something from there just remember you get what you pay for.

This is an excellent store for DIY projects! They carry name brands and have a huge selection of stock from flooring, tile, cabinets, etc. They are typically well lower then Menards or Lowes. Staff is helpful and store us clean. They don’t always replenish the same type of stock so you need to make sure you buy enough of what you need! They do take returns.

I admit I have been going here for years but never wrote a review for this store until I had an exceptional experience that makes me smile everyday since it happened. I went in looking for a Red 3D Shag carpet. THEY ARE SOOO BEAUTIFUL. Hobos offers the BEST price, but they go quick. I was looking for a red color. They did not have, but a gentleman by the name of Tom Schoon saw me looking around. He approached me asking if I needed help, I said YES and told him what I was looking for. He said more will be coming in a few weeks and I gave him my name and number to call me when 1 came in. Well 3 – 4 days later I get a call, it was there. I was shocked. I immediately went there and yes, it was there. I was sooooooo happy. When you get something that changes your room vibe and it makes you so happy, it’s time to write a review. Beautiful choices of rugs and shags. What a difference a room can make. Thank you Tom for great service, thank you HOBO for great vendors that provide excellent products. A customer for life. I generally like this store. They have a ton of stuff at a decently reasonable price but some of the stuff they carry is low quality. We purchased an indoor rug about 8 months ago and it’s really falling apart at this point. You get what you pay for I suppose. So buyer beware – if the price is that good, the product probably won’t be. But for the most part we have had positive experiences here. We’ll be back in a pinch.

Its true, this place is a dump for sure. But, they have a nice selection of a variety of things, so I’m okay with the no-​frills appearance of the store.

I have been here before and not that impressed. Be careful what you buy it will appear to be new in box but might be refurbished. I guess its buyer beware with this place.

Carry alot of items to remodel my home. However help is very short. People who work there are either too busy or they are short staffed. A few of the people actually know what they are talking about. Check out their ad for coupons and specials.

Last weekend hubby and I were looking for some granite for a space in front of the fireplace. Bingo! Black galaxy on sale in the HOBO flier, so we went to the HOBO. It is akin to a warehouse, much like COSTCO. Great prices, quality stuff, overstocks lead to deals.
I also inquired about the best priced glass tile, and John in flooring showed it to me. Ah-​ha! I planned to buy this at the HOBO by Midway the following day, as I was making an airport run. Well, the Midway HOBO was out of it. So I called Crest Hill to ensure it was in stock, and happily made my way west.
Once again John was there to help, not laughing too much when I needed assistance in calculating the number of square feet plus a bit extra to purchase. I then sifted through several ideas for enhancements and he patiently answered questions and brought the goods to my cart. He was able to tell me why I should not be worried when the mastik is white (it dries clear) and was informative and courteous.
He’s a gem, everyone I encountered could not have been nicer, and they understood when I had to stay and finish watching a TV program before I left.
GREAT prices, GREAT prices, GREAT prices, very good service. Worth the drive.

Favorite place to get inspired to update the house and ve affordable at the same time.

This place is unpleasant at best. It is a large, open store with tons of crap loaded up on the shelves. I will be honest, I didn’t really make it too far into the store before I turned around and high tailed it out of there The vibe is not good in here and there were a ton of employees creepily standing around doing nothing.
I understand the need for a deal as much as the next person, but the prices here are really not that great. I hate Walmart more than anybody, but I would rather shop there than hunt through rows of garbage for something that may or may not be there.
This store just has a dirty feel to it. I’m not sure if it is the clientele or the store itself, but I will not be back.

Love it! Cheap, cheap & cheap! They have everything for the home! Worth a look if you are doing a remodel. Just make sure you check the boxes to be sure you have all the parts.

I agree the place is a dump. But they have everything. You can get items for the Kitchen, bath, floor tile, hardwood, laminate flooring, hardware, housewares, tools, doors, granite counter tops, seasonal items, furniture. The prices are very good. There is quite an assortment of characters wandering around for added amusement. If you can’t find something come here odds are they have it.

What a f*#kin dump. I mean really. This place looked like someone’s garage after a three kegger. They have a whole lotta junk. The store is very messy but the prices are very reasonable. They have cabinets, furniture carpets, cleaning supplies etc. They even have granite counter tops. If your lookin for cheap, this is it.
