When in Mt. Crested Butte area, they are few places that are a must stop like the Bakery at Mt. Crested Butte. I have been coming to the Bakery for 20 years when on ski trips to CB. The owner, Steve, arrives as the sun comes up to personally serve you his creations, The baked goods and pastries for breakfast are incredible. My personal favorites are the caramel sticky buns and cinnamon rolls. They will jump start your day on the hill. Then, at lunchtime or after-​ski you don’t want to miss their pizza and/​or libations in the Brown Lab Pub.

The only place you can get a real donut in Crested Butte. And not just regular donuts. Twists of dough wrapped around bacon strips, deep fried and dripping with maple frosting. Or a puffy bismarks filed with chocolate cream. And cookies. And deep dish pizza they make on site.
The catch is that you have to get there early, because they run out.
The set up is odd. Half of the space is a bar (think dive bar complete with PBR specials), and half is a thriving bakery. And it works. And I make excuses to go up there in the morning. For the donuts, not the PBR.
