Great place. I’ve eaten at every café on the mountain and this is my favorite. It’s just what you hope for in the genre; fast friendly service and tasty food, especially breakfast! Eat here!

We dined here for breakfast today and our waitress Shannon was excellent. She was attentive, quick, patient and kind. But most importantly she didn’t raise her voice and speak rudely to her peers as the other waitress had done. I know it’s a small town feel but professionalism shouldn’t be sacrificed. The other waitress there today was rude, loud, and make our dining experience less pleasant than hoped for. So thank you Shannon for taking care of us, the stars go to you!

My kids and I went to the Crestline Café last week. All 3 of us ordered the fried chicken special. It was $ 9.99 each and not edible for the most part. I’ll start with the good part. The biscuits were excellent! Large and fluffy and warm. The butter was also perfect, nice and soft to spread on the biscuits. That was all that was good. Se we paid ten dollars each for a biscuit and butter. Once star for the biscuit and butter! The coleslaw was awful. There was way too much dressing, and the cabbage was soggy from sitting in a pool of dressing. Hmmmm I guess that no one told them the difference between cabbage soup and a salad. No stars for the salad – coleslaw. Next, the corn on the cob was soggy and inedible. It appeared to be frozen corn that either was microwaved in water to its death or sat in a pot of water for hours. Either way it was just a soggy mess and no one ate it. No stars for the corn, should actually take away a star for serving that crappy mess on our plate. The mashed potatoes and gravy was also pretty bad. The potatoes were hard and dry, obviously made some time well before that day and microwaved for us to have decorate our plate. The gravy was definitely not made from the chicken dripping but was a cheap packaged pretend gravy, salty and otherwise pretty flavorless but more beef flavor than chicken. No stars here. Now on to the chicken, the supposed star of the dish! Unfortunately this also was not cooked for us, but tasted like a frozen pre-breaded chicken that was placed in oil that was not hot enough to cook it properly. Also, the pieces were very small, like a half breast was cut into about 3 pieces. At first we were disappointed as we thought that we would have 3 pieces of regular size chicken, but after we tasted the chicken we were ok with the small pieces. The chicken was VERY greasy and the skin was VERY rubbery. The small pieces just gave us less to eat. Absolutely the worse chicken we have ever had! This should be a negative star item too. So after spending over $ 40 with tax and tip, without drinks, we got a crappy meal that the kids declared the worse they have ever had, and I pretty much agree. But the breakfasts there have been better…

Food was average. Bisquit was good. But wait staff pretty much ignored us. Grumpy, not friendly. Waited for coffee, and really waited for refill.

Been here twice. Better then the previous restaurant, Billy Bears. However, not a large choice in food. Service was not good. Problem is they took out the center divider and now it’s to noisy. Will not go back. I go to The Bear House in top town across from the Fire Station. Excellent food and choices.

I frequent the Crestline Café on a monthly to bi monthly basis. With that said, I have had phenomenal service, and I have had poor service as well. My overall experience generally depends on who is serving us. The last time I was there we were served by a sour faced woman who took forever to bring our food out to us. She had no hustle whatsoever at a very busy time when many of the tables in the restaurant was full. I remember commenting that I wish we could have had the bus boy serving us. He was polite, quick and full of smiles. With that said, the food here is fantastic. I usually order the French onion soup if it’s on special wether I’m eating breakfast or lunch. It’s pricey but delicious. I have enjoyed both lunch and breakfast food and can vouch for the portions and flavor. My husband ordered and hoagie last time he was there and it was at least twice the size of a Subway sandwich. All in all, I give this place two thumbs up if you arrive when the stars are aligned and the servers are happy.

We’ve loved Crestline Café for a long time now. Good food. Good service. One suggestion: how about free WiFi? Keep up the good work!

Came here for breakfast after staying at the Sleepy Hollow Cabins down the street. The breakfast was pretty decent. Had the stuffed French toast which was pretty good. Restaurant has an old town charm. Our main waitress was friendly and helpful. The person serving the drinks could work on upping the friendly factor a bit and smile.

I absolutely can not believe I have not written a review for this place before now. It is most definitely one of my favorite go-to places to eat up here. The staff are super friendly and the service is phenomenal. They are pretty darn good about getting the food out quickly now that they’ve adjusted to the bigger, new place. I’m always so torn when I go in because I can never choose between breakfast and lunch/dinner. Some of our favorites are the country Benedict, the french toast platter, biscuits and gravy, mozzarella sticks, mountain Ruben, sweet potatoe fries, french onion soup… Well pretty much everything, but those are our absolute favorites. You’ve gotta try this place.

I absolutely love this place! I have been here a few times and the food and service has always been spectacular! Today me and my fiancé decided to take our friends out for breakfast. The staff really hustled and kept moving. After watching a few customers being quite rude it gave me a whole new outlook on servers. Those girls sure put up with a lot but still manage to put a smile on their faces. I will definitely recommend this restraunt, try the county fried streak, the gravy is amazing!

Came to this restaurant many times, everything was great before but now, since they are getting busy, the customer service is now below par. The servers is are getting to be smart ass’s, rude. I’ll have to find a new place to eat now, what a shame. I really like the food. Too bad the employees suck.

I’ll keep it short and simple. Food is bomb but the service sucks! Although to be fair there is one waitress in particular that is good but she never seems to be there when I go and the others are super friendly but their service sucks.

I love this place. I have never been disappointed. The bottomless soup bowls are so good. Build your own burgers. The specials are so good. I am so glad there is a great place to eat on the hill.

I am moving to Crestline next week and drove up to check the town out. Was looking for a good breakfast place and found Crestline Café. I had the hash and eggs that was very delightful. I sat at the counter and had a chance to talk to the staff. They were all very nice and friendly. I will be coming here for breakfast when I officially move to Crestline.

We came up to crestline about a year ago, and had breakfast. We loved it and decided to take a trip up here again. This time we found they have a bigger restaurant, much bigger and better. Well we loved our meal. Good portion, and friendly people. Josh and Shanon took good care of us. We will be back next year! Keep up the good work…

Editing review: Walked in at 1230 on a friday afternoon. We were the only party waiting. Stared at empty booths for over half an hour. Was promised one of them, then ‘that employee’ dissappeared. There was not hostess for over half an hour. The hostess who was the self proclaimed ‘HR Manager’ was busy serving food while the servers walked around aimlessly. Unbelievable. We finally walked out. Talk about a business that has zero knowledge of the food and beverage industry… this is it. Total incompetence. No management. George should fire all his staff and go into retrenchment mode. This place is laughable. Two other parties walked out behind us. they were never even greeted. _________________________________ This little café used to rock when it was in top town. Now it has moved and assumed a new location; its sad to say that this place no longer serves the best food in town. As far as I know, menu is the same but the quality has gone down the hill. If it were not for the prompt service, this would be a 2 star review. I would have posted this review from the café, but their free wifi doesn’t even work.

Location: Right off the road. If you’re staying in one of the cottages, it should be an easy walk. Price: It was about $ 25(with tip) for two people. Not bad :) Food: I highly recommend the Country Benedict. It will change your life. I saw the tip posted above and trusted in the power of Unilocal.Best breakfast I’ve ever had. Service: It was a very busy Sunday morning but the servers were attentive and nice :) I don’t know why people were«disappointed».

Prime Rib and eggs today for breakfast. Was very good. For the price of $ 12.95 I thought it was fairly priced. I would order again. Might be my imagination but it really seems like this place has really stepped up their game when it comes to serving customers. Came here a while back a few times and thought the service frankly sucked. I know other locals have said the same in the past. Started coming back again and see some new faces and just seems like much better service now unlike the past. Shout out to Jennifer also. If she’s working I will wait if needed to sit in her section. Good waitress in my opinion.
