Run Through The Pines

I loved this 10k race in Crestline. It was BEAUTIFUL!!! The weather was perfect. Running around the lake, under the trees was just the best thing ever during a 10k; that breeze just made you run even faster.
For the 10k, you looped the lake twice. For me personally, I hate looping anything multiple times. YAWN! BUT this time was an exception. Well, because it was insanely beautiful.
Registration was a breeze. Nothing to say about that other than it was smooth.
My son and I did the race with friends and we all know a race is always that much more fun with friends. Especially friends in your same age group (especially when you win first place in said age group).
The awards for winning in your age group were marvelous. Whoever hand crafted them is a genius. Very personal. Son got 2^nd place in his age group (13 – 18). A friend got 2^nd in his age group (36 — 40) and I GOT FIRST IN MINE (31 – 35). SO COOL! We all love our award and everyone who ran got a finishers medal which is so sweet.
The snacks after were plentiful, tons of fruit and drinks.
The only complaint I have was waiting for the awards ceremony. It was sooooooo long and my kids were restless at that time. But overall, a great race. I recommend it and I will do it again.
