It’s an Applebee’s. What should you expect? Corporate owned food and menu. Want better go to a mom and pop place.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I hate this place! It is gross and the service is always horrible!!! The bartenders have no idea how to make drinks.

I’ve been to this location several times and for some reason always give them another chance but after this experience, there will not be another chance. My experiences range from wrong order, to scraping cheese off a burger then bringing it back to the table, slow service from people that don’t seem to have the least bit of give a crap, to drug deals, yes drugs being bought between a server and some person that walked in the side door to make the deal. If the server is still there I“m the one that wrote«Don’t do drugs» on the receipt, you might want to be a bit more discreet when you make your deals. Anyhow, so we walk in last night(Saturday) maybe around 8pm or so and the hostess at the front greets us then walks off without saying follow me, right this way or anything. Basically just walks off leaving us standing there asking ourselves if we should follow. She gets to the table and looks back with a «well are you coming» kind of look. So my wife proceeds to say«well we didn’t know if we were supposed to follow or not». The hostess gives my wife a smirk, half ass, why are you bothering me, condescending look. You’re a frumpy looking hostess at an Applebee’s, the only look you should be giving anyone is a look of suprise that they are actually coming into this establishment. Once the server made it back to her spot folding napkins or whatever mindless task she was doing at the front, she decided to tell our waiter and laugh about the incident. Our waiter wasn’t to bad but he didn’t seem to excited to be serving those that are providing the money for his pay check and tip. It goes with what I said about previous visits, the young people don’t seem to care about customer service. The food, what can I say it’s Applebee’s, take it for what it is.

Went there a little late so I didn’t expect the best service but we walked in, only one lady was working and wasn’t rude but didn’t seem to care if we were taken care of, completely ruined our night.

This place is good in the bar area to have drinks and hang out after hours with friends and coworkers in Crosby. They allow smoking though, so if you can’t stand that you’ll hate it. The Long Island pitchers are a great deal for strong drinks! We also order boneless wings and they’re always actually really good. It’s a basic Applebee’s, so you really can’t expect much. I wouldn’t come here for just a dinner in the dining room, because in general the food has never been worth it. It’s like a chilis but the food is always disappointing ya know? The staff is friendly but no ones seems too concerned with being particularly great at their job. I would say as a restaurant it’s pretty disappointing but the after-hours bar is pretty convenient and can be a good time!

This place is horrible. I couldn’t stay to eat. The whole place was filled with cigarette smoke. I like to taste my food, not another person’s smoke.

I have never had a bad experience here and I go regularly. Basic Applebee’s food and drinks. The bar area is cool for smokers since you can still smoke there. The staff is usually pretty cool, there is the occasional dud but that is every chain restaurant. Specials all the time from $ 6 burgers to happy hour to kids eat free.

Came in for lunch, immediately you get a heavy cigarette smell upon entering. Was seated opposite to bar to minimize smell. The food was average at best. Staff was friendly and courteous. There was no wait during lunch and the food came out quickly.

I have to say the food and service was good. However walking in you get blasted with a face full of cigarette smoke and it doesn’t stay contained in the bar either. You have to smell it at your table too. It makes for a very unpleasant meal. It has been like this at this Applebees since it opened. Very poor space design. Maybe the smokers need a separate entrance and they could close the access to the bar from the front door. It will quite a while if I ever go back.

Well, Applebee’s has never been known for five star food, but I dont expect it here. Across the board the service is always lacking. Top that off with the reek of smoke from the bar when you walk in, we avoid this place at all cost.

Our service was horrible. I try, so hard, not to judge when I got out to eat because I worked in the restaurant business for 6 years. When a restaurant is slow, there is no reason for bad service. A 2 top shouldn’t be in for over an hour, unless by choice. Our appetizer came before our drinks. Our server was apparently too busy to check on us, ever, and when she did, she didn’t stop. She just kept walking as she asked, «is everything ok?» That doesn’t give us time to respond. The manager, apparently, has the same work ethic. My glass was empty. He walked by, «do you need anything?» He continued walking. I had to stop him and ask, «could I get some more tea, please?» In this situation, you’d think he would have noticed my husband’s almost empty glass, too. Nope. After it took him a minute to find the pitcher of tea, he came back, filled my glass, then asked my husband if he’d like more water. Since I have a keen eye, I was able to tell when our food was coming out of the kitchen. I saw a server(not ours) hold our food and speak to another server for a good 2 minutes at a POS station, walk back into the kitchen, and then walk out a minute later and finally deliver the food. Cold food. Not warm. Cold. Cold fries. Cold chicken strips. Cold steak. After 45 minutes, we finally received the check(no dessert offer? Tsk tsk) from the manager. Again, no server. She did come by 10 minutes later to run the credit card. Reluctantly, my husband left her a tip. At least she got the order right, right? Needless to say, we won’t be going back there.

I visit this restaurant once every few months and consistently enjoy their food. Of course I always order the same thing, Fiesta Lime Chicken, and I’m never disappointed. The food comes out reasonably quick, hot, and as ordered. The waitstaff is generally courteous also.

Every time I go in for lunch I think to myself oh here we go again, blowing another $ 12.00(without tip) on a salad or a crappy hamburger. It’s just not worth it. I think the only reason they are busy at lunch is there are so few restaurants in Crosby that are not either Mexican or BBQ.

I’m hating myself for giving Applebee’s 3 stars. Its a chain notoriously known for their awful menu items and their attempt for originality. Its sad. This particular Applebees is packed full of ex-Crosby HS graduates as their staff and this usually shows. I have gone here time and time again, trying to give these guys second chances and thirds and fourths… Im too forgiving I imagine. Oh well, I digress… My friend Keith and I decide to head up there after our fire meeting this past Tuesday night only due to the fact that it is the only place open in Crosby past 9. We walk in and sit at the bar(don’t worry I was off duty) and order a beer and queso(Dinner of champions). After much deliberating and second guessing myself we both decide on the Top Sirloin Medium Rare, with Parmesean Cheese and Shrimp Topping. Sides of Veggies and a Baked Potato to accompany. Now I have had their steaks before and take this piece of advice to the bank. DONOTORDERTHERIBEYE or NYSTRIP! They do not know how to cook it correctly and their selection is not exactly up to par. I knew I was taking a risk when I ordered the lean cow, but for some reason The Applebee God told me to do it. So about 8 minutes into my queso and my 2nd large order of Miller Lite(not light as per the«Commish») we get our orders out. I take one slice into the beef and Im like great… those bastards overcooked my steak. I then heard Keith say those bastards undercooked my steak. Luckily for Applebees we just switched steaks so I didnt have to unleash all HELL on the cook(whom I graduated with in HS). My God, the steak was perfect! Its weird to say that about food from the Bee but hey, I was honestly suprised. The steak was gone in about 3 minutes and immediately I hated myself for not slowly enjoying it like I should have. Honestly, when will I get another steak like that from the Bee? When’s the next comet coming? We might have better luck with the economy getting back to normal before I get another 8 oz. of cooked cow that good. As we left me and Keith looked at the Crosby Fire Dept. Memorabilia near the front door. They have a CVFD bunked coat with all the firemen’s signatures on it. Its always good to see how a community appreciates the small things that we do, and we absolutely appreciate everything our community has done for us!
