Excellent choice if you want some southern comfort food! Hard to find cause the sign blew away and there’s no address number. Little White House with brick stairs. There’s a bar and some tables. We went at 2pm and the place was empty.

It disgusts me that someone would even *think* to rate this place 1 star due to their own inability to find the place. It’s directly beside the road, with a huge barbecue and sign out front. This restaurant has never received a poor rating, for obvious reasons, until now because of a frustrated Unilocaler’s incompetence. This place is the epitome of southern comfort food, charm, and hospitality. You always get attentive, friendly service along with well-prepared, delicious meals. They even have $ 2 burgers on Tuesdays, which is an incredible deal for the quality! I hope a Unilocal administrator can help remove the ridiculous 1-star review from someone who didn’t even eat here.

Couldn’t find the place. Either it’s gone it’s or it needs better signage. Maybe our GPS was taking us to the wrong place. I was disappointed.

My favorite local Crozet spot for any meal of the day! Smoked tacos are fantastic, and for breakfast the locally milled grits can’t be beat! Don’t miss penny night on Thursdays where you can flip a coin to get any drink for a penny!

Server was awesome. I showed up at 2:59pm on a Sunday(they close at 3 — I had no idea), and she said the kitchen could still make me something. Had a buffalo chicken wrap which was alright. Some folks in the restaurant were eating pancakes that looked awesome! Noticed they have penny beers on Thursdays, so might have to come back for that. Also loved the nonstop country music!

My husband and I stopped by here because of the other Unilocal reviews and we were not disappointed. It didn’t look like much from the outside but had an amazing staff menu and full bar. We ordered the crozet burger and since they were waiting for the pork to finish smoking(they smoke it for 16 hours) they opted top replace it with brisket. The burgers were fantastic and super cheap. They were about the price of a big Mac and fries. The fries were also delicious as we’re the onion rings. If you are in the area at all you should definitely stop in for some great food!

For a couple of years I would come to Southern Way Café — and sometimes it would be great and other times not very good at all. I realized that when the owner was cooking, the food quality was much better! When someone else is cooking the rating is 2.5 stars. The BBQ is fabulous, and my husband loves the chicken and dumplings special they sometimes have. The soups are alway delicious and the brussel sprouts side dish can’t be beat. In the winter you’ll want to sit as far away from the door as possible and next to the fireplace(if possible) to keep warm. The interior is kind of lacking, and I get tired of listening to Johnny Cash on a loop, but for good home cooking for a reasonable price SWC fits the bill.

We come here about once a year while visiting family. Food is better than last time pushing them from a 3-star to a 4-star review. I had the Hominy Swamp Shrimp and Grits. The grits are milled locally(I love the fact they use local ingredients). While grits are tough to get a good flavor profile from, they do a great job with spices, cheese, and shrimp. Everyone kept talking about the Brussel Sprouts, so I had to order them too. It was worth it! We went on a Monday, when kids eat free and my daughter liked her burger and Mac n Cheese. Good friendly service.

Delicious southern home cooked meal. We had shrimp and grits with bacon, scallions, and cheese! The home cooked Mac n cheese was great for an 8 month old to gnaw on and kids cheeseburger was just enough for the 10 year old. Only room for 8 parties but seating for 4 more parties outside if not too hot. Such a small town place that they have one waitress so be patient. Love to visit mom and pop places on our travels and this is one to return to! Down one star only due to having one server. But food is worth the wait!

This was an amazing find! Two friends and I were in the area and decided to stop for a late lunch. The staff were all extremely nice and helpful with menu selections. I had the pulled pork sandwich with a fried green tomato, sauteed onions and the moonshine sauce– I am still having dreams about it, it was THATGOOD! My friends ordered the fish tacos and another pulled pork sandwich and loved their lunches as well. I can’t wait to go back!

I had low expectations, given some middling reviews I’d gotten from some neighbors who tried it. But it actually was pretty good! Review really should be 3.5 stars. Went there for breakfast. Service was courteous and capable and pleasant. The seating could be better, just a few indoor tables but there’s not a lot one can do I suppose. My shrimp and grits were pretty good, very delicious flavors. My family had good reasonably priced breakfasts. Two things keep this from 4 stars: grits were undercooked(ie still hard in some forkfuls) and the portion size was small for the price($ 13). I was tempted also by the chicken and waffles but was turned off by the price slightly($ 16 for a chicken breast and an egg on a waffle at a café?) I’ll maybe try it anyways in the future but, at a comfy local place like this, it’s hard to see how any breakfast menu item should be $ 16 unless it is something absolutely spectacular or unique in some way. I’ll definitely come back and hopefully get to sit outside.

We were looking for a casual breakfast spot in Crozet and ended up at Southern Way Café! The staff was so friendly and we had great service. I ordered the Clampit and my boyfriend ordered Papa’s Biscuits and Gravy which he said was one of the best meals he had ever had! Both were delicious. Everything is made fresh and they use local meats and eggs! The prices are extremely fair! We will definitely be back.

Great place to grab a bite and talk to some nice people. I just had a burger and green beans but they were good and the service was friendly. Apparently they use local foods whenever possible, so that’s nice.

Great breakfast! I had the fried green tomato sandwich based on Unilocal reviews and it was great! Their fries are also delicious! Our waitress was funny and delightful.

IHad barbecue dinner, bread pudding for desert, one cocktail, it was pretty good but it cost 33 dollars less tip for one person. Décor was a bit too rustic, service was great but I was the only guest. 8PM Saturday They have a TV they have«real» Popcorn Sutton Moonshine being produced by his wife to his orginal recipe. It worth a stop just to know why it’s the best of the best, maybe the best white liquor ever made.

Head great things about this place, especially the Bread Pudding French Toast. The menus are large sheets of paper, which are dirty, coffee and grease stained. not the best impression, but let’s see how the food is. Oh, out of the Bread Pudding French Toast. how about the Chicken & Waffles? Nope. Out of that too. Settled on The Clampit Breakfast, which was delicious. However, I was told by a dining partner that where yes, it was good, it was completely different from the last time she had it. She said it did not resemble the same dish, so maybe there are consistency issues here. I’ll definitely go back, and maybe my review will be upped. My food was great, it was just the fact that they were out of two things and the dirty menus.

My family and I have stayed down in this area a couple of times camping and hoped to find a nice breakfast place to go. We were disappointed the last time when we went to a Waffle House. We did a bit more research this time and located this place and boy-o-boy was this one right on the money. We got there early on a Sunday — about 8:30. They open at 8. That was good timing because we were the first ones there, but they do get busy by 9:30. The waitress was really friendly and very helpful with the menu with our kids. She offered to do things not even on the menu to make up for being out of chocolate chips. The kids had pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream that looked decadent and they loved them. One daughter who wanted chocolate chip pancakes, got chocolate pancakes because they were out of chocolate chips. I had the«Big Daddy Breakfast» which was three eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy and baked apples. Wow, the biscuits and gravy was fantastic. it literally made my eyes roll back for a second. My wife had the«Country Morning Breakfast» with a Belgian waffle, two eggs and baked apples. She was equally impressed with hers as I was with mine. For me, it doesn’t hurt that they are almost literally across the street from the Starr Hill Brewery. It was Sunday morning this time, so I didn’t visit, but next time…

This place has some pretty good down home grub! And good beer on tap. The BLT was awesome. I’ve had several items here, all of which were pretty darn good. Love the Brussels sprouts! The BBQ is just ok… I’m from Texas so I am a tough judge. The service can sometimes be slow because they get busy and never have much staff working. I think it’s mostly family run, but definitely worth a stop in!

Excellent BBQ. Great service and very fun atmosphere. If you don’t have to drive, try the apple pie moonshine.
