Great food, plenty of options on the menu, including healthy items. Service was also very good, and quick, too. Staff was friendly and fun.

Decent diner food, at really good prices. Restaurant is small and very dated, but serves its purpose. It’s cash only, so be aware.

Decent breakfast diner food. The place was clean and the food came out quickly. Just a random con though: their Mexican skillet/omelet has chili instead of chorizo, which was disappointing.

Chris pretty much makes everything. I especially like breakfast here. They make a good cup of coffee and you can’t go wrong with eggs and bacon or an omelette. Olympic has the best soup around. They make it fresh everyday and I’ve had many different soups here, they’re all fantastic. It’s perfect on a cold day. Is this gourmet food? Of course not, but it’s reliable and consistently good. Good value and very reasonable pricing. Not a chain, the owner shows up for work and takes pride in his diner.

The best breakfast skillets I’ve ever tasted. Always a must when I visit my parents. Cash only, so make sure to leave the credit cards at home. Huge portions and a fun neighborhood atmosphere. It’s been in Crystal Lake for years, and this is the best breakfast place. Gets very busy on weekend mornings, but worth the wait. Cannot stress enough — it’s the best breakfast skillet I’ve had anywhere. Great prices, also. Highly recommended!

I’m only giving this one star because I have to. First of all, my MIL has lived in this city since 1978, I have lived here since 2006. This was her first visit, because I raved about their food and biscuits and gravy. We visited this restaurant yesterday also with my 9 month old son, who was in a stroller. We walked in, did not get greeted, but yet got a nasty look from the gentleman at the counter. Whatever, went and sat down at a table. Another group of ladies came in after we did, they were greeted and visited by a waitress promptly with menus and drinks, while we just sat there with nothing. No glance, no waitress even after I tried to catch their attention. Seriously??? Come on Olympic. We’ve been here lots of Times and this was the worst possible service I have ever encountered ANYWHERE. I honestly think they were perturbed because I brought my son in. We will definitely not be going back, and I will be telling everyone about our rude, discriminatory experience. Too bad because your food is good. That’s where the 1 star really came from.

Great place for breakfast. It’s a little on the greasy side, but it’s always delicious. Plus, the waitresses are super outgoing.

I am torn on my review because the food was OK. Nothing great but decent food. I had a chicken wrap, and it was good, nothing to write home about but decent. My husband has the veggie burger and he said it was dry and bland. This was a quick visit for us because we were on or bikes and we appreciated the attentive server. We will go back to try other items when we have more time.

As in any major metropolitan area, one has a multitude of breakfast choices in Chicago and its environs. An awful lot of the eateries are owned, or were started by Greeks, so it’s not unusual to see a co-mingling of Greek and American cuisines, regardless of the time of day. To wit: «scrambled eggs with gyro meat.» I’ve been to my fare share. In this part of the ‘burbs, I guess my favorite so far is Andy’s, also located in Crystal Lake. I like Round the Clock, as well. I hadn’t tried the Olympic, and locals talk about it, so off I went, and it was Sunday morning, and it was either suffer in silence a lengthy wait for a table or booth, or be seated immediately at the counter, which I don’t mind, there are always interesting things to observe. Chicken Fried Steak was on special, and I’ve reviewed the dish in a lot of different locations, so I plunged in here, adding two over easy, rye toast, and crispy hash browns. I don’t know why I bother getting potatoes, I never eat them. But since they are included in most breakfast plates, they might as well put them in front of me for presentation sake. At the Olympic, an ample amount of sausage gravy(quite peppery) covered the«steak,» which tasted like any mass production CFS anywhere. Eggs and taters were done to order, toast could have used more butter. Yes, I could have asked. Service was quick and thorough. Two breakfasts, two coffees, $ 21 plus gratuity.

I will give the two stars because in the past I’ve had good service and good food, but my latest experience was not so good. We usually go for breakfast because their breakfast is great. But we decided to go for late lunch. It was about 1:15p and I had noticed the sign that said half off a burger with the purchase of a beverage between 11am and 2 pm. I love burgers and would probably get it anyway but that sold me! The service was ok, the drinks tasted watered down and the food was ok, but not on par with their breakfast. Good to know we, we just won’t hit this place up for lunch again. Or so I thought. I noticed the server didn’t put the half off on the burger on the check. No big deal. I’ll take the check to the guy behind the cashier. I inquired about the half off burger. He responds as he looks over the check and I’m paraphrasing. «If you order a beverage and between 11 and 2.» It was 2:03p, we’d been in there since 1:15p and I did order a beverage. I couldn’t believe it as he continued to just ring it up at the full price and gave me my change without even looking me in the face. We simply said thank you and walked out. There are plenty of good places in Crystal Lake, and this one will never get our business again.

Five star greasy spoon breakfast experience. Down right delicious basics. I had a bacon, mushroom, avocado and American cheese omelet that hit the spot. Hash browns were actually seasoned! Many restaurants forget to do this but this place didn’t miss a beat. The only thing I didn’t like too much was the rye toast. Cheap rye bread but overall, we will be returning.

I like this place. And I like going here. But there are some issues. The service is good. Sometimes it can be great, sometimes it can be just ok. Depends on what waitress you get. Also the hostess’ can be snotty at times, not sure why but that needs to improve. The food is good and overall I will continue to go. Because I can handle a two sentence conversation with a snotty young lady.

Best local diner. Portions are perfect and service is great. Can get a bit packed on the weekends, but it should be a sign to eat there. Their only flaw is it’s currently cash only establishment.

One of the most terrific little Greek mom & pop owned places… Here’s where you can get as good of a breakfast or lunch as you can get in any Greek mom & pop place anywhere… My favorite, although not for breakfast, is their homemade cream of chicken rice soup, along with a grilled cheese(their sandwiches come with fries or chips, and an excellent cole slaw)… For breakfast, you can’t go wrong with the ham & cheese omelette in my opinion. Seriously people, this is one of those places where you can order whatever your favorite thing is from off the menu, pancakes, eggs-over-easy, whatever it is, and you’ll be happy with the result. It’s about as good as it gets, Olympia’s just one of those kinds of places

A nice typical diner with friendly staff serving large portions of decent food. I had breakfast consisting of 2 eggs and corned beef hash and pancakes. And a side order of grits thrown in for good measure. All in all a good dining experience, though I found the coffee to be weak for my taste and not hot enough. *Cash only BTW.

Great service and excellent food! The food comes out extremely fast and perfectly prepared… every time! I’ve had their breakfast items and burgers(El Diablo) & would highly recommend both. The one thing that sticks out for me, being a father of two young children, is how they acknowledge the kids with a big smile & give them crayons and things to keep em happy.
