I really hate going into these buildings, the only time I push myself to walk into a gamestop, is if there is a sale going on. The worst part I always dread about the whole trip is going to the register, I dislike constantly being pressured into pre-ordering some game and signing up for their yearly subscription. The other part that really annoys me about this place is the trade-ins. I rarely trade in games, only when I really hate the game. And of course they low ball you for your products(it is a business and they’re trying to make a profit, even if its 100% pure profit from used games), but when they tell you the value of your games, they take $$$ off your game because it’s scratched and there is a buffing/restoration fee… Which is good and all… BUT… When I go buy a used game especially Xbox 360 and PS2, they are completely trash. Why is there a restoration fee on my trade ins, if none of the pre owned games that I buy have been restored??? Yes there is a 30-day guarantee but with gas $ 4/gallon, I’m not driving back anytime soon. This is usually only a problem on games that are less than $ 15. If a game is more than $ 15, the price difference between a new copy and a used copy is almost always less than $ 5 so I choose the new copy so I don’t have to stress(also game developers actually get money this way). I’m sticking to Amazon, and BestBuy on occasion.

If you or your kids are into video games you already know all about this place. This GameStop is new to the area, built just after the the new«Mega Wal Mart» behind it was completed around mid 2007 I think. My wife likes going to this one better than the others because it has a Starbuck’s next door. The thing I like about this location is there are much shorter lines than the nearby Crystal Court store. At the other store the line gets pretty bad. Also if this place doesn’t have the game you want they will call around and find it for you. We got an 80Gb PS-3 system from here when other places in town(*ahEm* Best Buy) were telling people that no one in town had any and they were impossible to find and what not. One thing I have to say about GameStop though. Sometimes they will mark the used games up way to high… Gamecube games at least. They were selling Mario Double cart, Smash brothers, and a few others for $ 39.99 used when the Toys’R’Us up the street had new copies for $ 29.99. Maybe that is a bad example since the games are not being produced any more but be sure to shop around before buying used.
