This has been our spot since we moved back to CL3 years ago. From the first time we ordered(and they sent us a very nice welcome packet) and every time since has been nothing but an enjoyable and positive experience. The pizza is up there with the best in McHenry Co.(for my money, the best) and the dough dippers are out of this world. The two owners are always friendly and polite. I can’t say enough good things about them and the food. I’m very happy to have a place like this in our community.

Outstanding quality food. Never better. Service is exceptional too. It’s feels like you’re family. Premium service with a smile. Alfredo pizza is superb(let it cool off a lot to enjoy the full flavor). Fresh-made, loaded with flavor and service from someone who really cares about the business, the product and the customers

The pizza place and more has a great gluten free pizza. I went in to personally speak to the owner one day to assure a safe place for our family to enjoy take out pizza again. She was so well informed about the needs of gluten free and also vegan people. My son has celiac disease and we need to be extremely careful not to have any cross contamination from the preparation and cooking processes to using clean utensils when slicing. She was so nice and answered all of my questions– most before I even asked! We have found a new place to get safe gluten free pizza! Yeah!

I just took a chance one day and was very happy I did. Excellent pizza and very fresh ingredients. I went back again last night and was happy I did. I they are the best pizza in town! I like thin crust but the rest of it was very substancial layer of cheese, sauce, and toppings. Excellent value, freshness, and very tasty. There are right next to Weight Watchers too!

We’re new to the area and every time we ordered pizza we tried a new place. This place is the best we’ve have in the Crystal Lake area. Great tasting pizza and super friendly service! This is now our goto.

My family and I love this place. Recently discovered it and now it’s one of our favorites in the area. Very good thin crust pizza. The owner was very sweet and the«welcome packet» for new customers was a very nice and memorable touch. We will be back very soon!

This is an honest review, maybe to help the business. We went here twice, and the first time was super yummi the second, not so much! The first time we had cheesy beefs & curly fries, absolutely delish the beef was on garlic bread & very tasty. The second time we visited we went for the pizza, not a very good choice. Pizza here is not much to be desired, kind of a funky taste between the sauce & the awful crust. The toppings were very average at best! As a family of 4 who loVes Pizza we actually threw it out. We Never have done that before! Maybe the pizza is ok for some, but not for us pizza loVers. Sick thinking about the pizza and feel bad about writing this, but it was just really that bad. The people who work here are wonderful and helpful & if you order anything but the pizza, it is delish but will cost you. In my opinion, prices are on the higher side for the area & im not so sure why. ex: Curly Cheese fry $ 5.20.

From the initial phone call, to taking the empty pizza box to the trash The Pizza Place delivered a wonderful experience. The lady who took our order was so charming and so genuinely happy that we chose them. The delivery driver was equally as friendly. And finally, the pizza. We had the thick crust, sausage pizza. Not too much sauce, no overload on cheese, just a delicious pizza. More restaurants should strive to provide a level of customer service that The Pizza Place provides. Oh and I forgot to mention, as a first time customer they gave us a hand written welcome packet, with coupons, magnets, menus, and more. How awesome!!! Will be ordering again.

Growing up in Chicago I feel I know what a good thin crust pizza should be. And this place has nailed it! delicious and you know made with some thought behind it. My wife has fallen in love with the gluten free pizza and I can say I’ll eat it too without hesitation. one thing I thought I’d never say about a pizza place is that you have to try a salad with their house made dressing a fantastic mix of French and Thousand Island, it’s unreal! it’s our go to place for pizza. A must try.

Tried this place Thursday night and ordered a half pepperoni, half fresh garlic, spinach, mushroom thin crust pie. I also ordered the lasagna special. First thing I noticed was that the pleasant lady who took my order asked if it was our first experience with them. I said it was and that I found it on Unilocal. She said all the reviews were spot on, even those that weren’t favorable. I found it honest and refreshing. The lasagna was ok. Nice portion but nothing spectacular for being homemade as advertised. The buttery garlic bread that came with it was fantastic and my kids ate most of it. The pizza was fantastic with very fresh toppings and a perfect thin crust that didn’t taste like a saltine cracker. Super friendly service and locally owned with some people who seem to really enjoy running the business will have me coming back for more.

We have been very pleased with the pizza place and continue to go back. My wife has certain food allergies and they are more than accommodating in helping try new ingredients. The owners are absolutely delightful and we are glad we found this pizza place.

This place is freaking awesome. I live in Chicago, but I don’t say that to be snooty; I simply say it because I have had my fair share of ‘za. That being said, though, I am the utter opposite of a «Chicago thick crust» pizza fan. I like and prefer a thinner crust… you know the kind where square cut is the only acceptable way to serve pizza. My next comment is regarding their salad; yeah, I know why order salad from a place that serves pizza; it’s kind of an oxymoron! That being said you’re truly doing yourself a disservice by not getting their salad with their hommade blue cheese dressing; it’s made fresh daily by the owners, and it’s phenomenal! I’m pretty good at figuring out recipes, but I can’t get this one down. My guess is the secret ingredient is crack or something equally addictive! Go here! You won’t be disappointed!

It was my first time here. The pizza was good(toppings and crust alike). I decided on the monster pizza on whole wheat crust, so that I can feel I wasn’t cheating(don’t judge me). Was it the best I’ve ever had? No, I can’t say that much, but it was tasty. Might I add the dressings and the crust are both homemade without the additives or GMOs. Hence the reason I give them 4 stars. I also appreciated that they delivered to my address in Cary for double the delivery cost of just $ 4…I wasn’t disappointed. I’ll eat here again.

Amazing pizza. Let me state this again: AMAZINGPIZZA. I don’t know what it is that makes it so delicious but I’m betting on the crust and the cheese. My husband and I can’t get enough of it.

The first time we ordered pizza for delivery, the woman that answered was charming. We are 4 miles away, and she said that was within their delivery area. Which I would think it would be. The pizza was good. Nice crust, good sauce. All was fine. I called to order tonight, and the not so charming woman told me we are in the double the price of delivery area. Now the delivery, to drive those 4 miles, would be $ 5.00. This seemed a bit much. We called our old favorite. I felt badly, as I do try to support the local independents. But our old favorite is also an independent, who supports lots of kids sports teams, and makes a great pizza :-)

Don’t judge a book by its cover. These are my words of wisdom to you, fellow Unilocalers. I was slowly navigating my way to Woodstock in search of the hospital that my Grandma was being treated at, when I realized that lunchtime was flying by and I wasn’t going to be able to hold out until dinner. I pulled up my handy, dandy Unilocal iPhone app and started to think that I was going to visit a nearby restaurant. When I pulled into the strip mall’s parking lot, I saw a sign for The Pizza Place. Sure, it’s a pizza place. No really, it’s THE Pizza Place. I hesitated, but thought it would be quick and cheap, so even if it’s bad, it’ll still be good. It’s pizza and that’s kinda how it works. I wandered in and I met my long, lost great-aunt… But seriously, the darling owner reminded me so much of my Great Aunt Antoinette. I haven’t seen my aunt in many years and I just wanted to give the owner a big ol’ hug! She was on the phone taking an order when I walked in, but she smiled and made me feel welcome. When we started talking, I found that she was helpful in all the best ways. She’s the sort of business owner that you want to buy your slice of pizza from — just so cute and kind that I want to put her in my pocket and take her and her kindness with me! They have pizza by the slice. Both original and the whole wheat crusts. Their lunch special is a slice for $ 3, a second slice for $ 1 and a can of pop for $.75. They have gluten free pizza and pasta, too! So it’s just a random storefront in a non-descript strip mall and there’s nothing fancy about these digs, but I swear to you — try the pizza. Just get a slice of sausage pizza and enjoy! They make their own crust daily and it is fabulous!!! I ate a slice of their original crust pizza and decided to indulge in a second slice, but this time went with the whole wheat crust. This was good and light, but not nearly as phenomenal tasting as their original crust. The customers wandered in one after another in the 20 minutes that I was there. All but one were regulars and I can taste why. They make a stellar pizza crust! And provide service with a smile the whole time!!!
