I went for breakfast and to do a little studying for class. I had the Chuckwagon which was a ton of food. I got my eggs scrambled since this option comes with french toast, the eggs were put on top of my hash browns and i am not sure if the hash browns or the eggs or both were extra greasy but i felt that there was an excess of oily-ness in that area. With that said they were great, the hash browns super crisp and tasty and the eggs were done just right not over done and rubbery but not under cooked and snotty. I ordered hot tea and they gave me a whole thermos of hot water to refill my cup. I am rather sensitive to the taste of coffee and I worried that the thermos would taint the water to taste like coffee but it didn’t, It was Amazing! I will be back to try more, I like the small café feel and no one pushing me out the door in a hurry to flip a table, they let me sit and refilled the thermos with water. Great place

There is nothing I enjoy more the sleeping in on the weekends and waking up and going out to breakfast, and for the past year this has been my spot! Stake and eggs for 10 dollars! Yes please. Nice Staff Small Town Feel.

My wife and I are always looking for a great, local breakfast place — this place has earned a spot in the rotation. I like the Chuckwagon — great eggs, hash browns, crispy bacon and FRENCHTOAST! The biscuits and gravy were also favorite. The service was prompt and friendly. This place is worth a try!

Reheated diner food; nothing homemade or interesting that I saw. Decent quality for store bought though.

One more star for the service, the waitress was extremely nice and helpful. The food is way better than IHOP

This place is the best! Any weekend morning there is always a seat, the service is attentive but not too much. I especially love the Egg House Special! Food is great. But I wish they would spend a few hundred bucks redoing their décor. There is so much natural sunlight, it’s a gem of a place.

It’s located on the west end of a crummy little strip mall in Crystal, but don’t let looks dissuade you from coming in for a great meal at a fair price. The interior is pretty typical of a small town diner with booths along one side and a bank of stools providing counter seats. The décor is minimal and a welcome relief from cluttered cafes of similar style. The waitress welcomed us with a friendly smile and was attentive without hovering. We never had to even look over our shoulders and she was there to top off the mug. I went with the Egg House Favorite, which is two eggs as you wish over hash browns with sautéed pork sausage, peppers, onions, all smothered with cheese, and a side of toast to boot! The flavor was fantastic and the platter was enormous – a bargain at $ 7.99! I look forward to checking out some other items on my next visit, which is certain to be sooner than later. I especially liked that the clientele was nearly all older blue collar looking folks and not a bunch of smug hipsters on their phones the whole time. Bonus. P. S. They have a coupon for Buy one, get one ½ off on their website that is good any day of the week.

My wife and I are on a life-long search for great breakfasts, so we thought based on some other reviews that we’d give the Egg House Café a try. It’s located close to where my wife grew up, but has changed owners multiple times over the years and even closed for a few years. The current owner has done a very nice job of rearranging the kitchen to the rear of the store(as required by the City of Crystal), and the counter seats that we chose were very comfortable. We were excited when we arrived as the place was nearly full, and there was lots of energy evident from the staff. Unfortunately, the food was just so-so, not anywhere up to our expectations from what we had read. We both had pancakes, mine with blueberries, plus my wife added hash browns and bacon. Her sides were better than the cakes, but not fantastic, and the pancakes were fluffy and not particularly memorable. In fact, they reminded us of the microwave type, just larger. Not to sound like food elitists, which we are not, the coffee and tea(very cheap tasteless brand), were eh! Drinkable, but again, nothing to rave about. On the plus side: the restaurant is very, very, clean, the service was top-notch, and the staff very friendly. I guess you also get what you pay for, and the pricing was very reasonable… just 70 cents to add blueberries to the pancakes. I’m not quite sure how a tea bag is $ 1.99 and coffee $ 1.75, but we didn’t go for the caffeine. Doubtful that we will return as our search for thin, crispy edge pancakes continues.

Food OK. Service friendly, but inaccurate. Prices fair. There are other better breakfast places in the area.

My husband and I were looking for a local place for breakfast and came upon the Egg House Café about a year ago. Oh my gosh… they serve delicious food and are happy to make meals to order(my husband doesn’t like garlic and onion and they are always happy to leave those things out of any meal he’s ordered). When we went today, I decided to order my first meal off of the lunch menu(Egg House Café closes at 2:00). I had the club sandwich and it was fantastic… fresh red tomatoes, wonderful turkey and plenty of crisp bacon! I don’t know this for sure, but the french fries I ordered appeared to be twice fried! They were really, really good! Now my only dilemma for the next time? Whether to order breakfast(their french toast and Hollandaise sauce are marvelous) or lunch!

We were staying in the area and was looking for a nice little café and came across this on here so gave it a shot! The environment wasn’t the greatest but it serves it’s purpose for a small café. The menu had a nice selection for breakfast and lunch items and the prices were very reasonable. The service was not the greatest but was fair(did not check in on us much after food was delivered and refills on water did not happen enough with our group). The food portions and taste were very good and was certainly the best part of the experience. Overall it is definitely a stop worth making and you’re sure to walk away happy and full.

I’m at this restaurant right now. Food is fine, overpriced but good portions. I’m so turned off by the waitress having a video call during my entire visit. Aside from taking my order and bringing my food, she left her ‘device’ once, and that was to answer a different phone! Now right back at it oblivious to how rude this is to me, her customer. Food doesn’t matter when you are treated this way. I won’t be back.

My coworkers and I eat here so much we have a frequent diners card. Huge portions, fair prices, breakfast and lunch options have something for everyone. The service here is fantastic when you get the Rhonda. She takes care of our group everytime we dine and is so appreciative for our business. I come here on the weekends and its still great. I recommend the chocolate chip pancakes, onion rings, and burgers. No matter what you order, it all comes to the table at the perfect temperature.

My wife brought us here for brunch after having an amazing lunch experience earlier in the week. It’s an olde-timey mom ‘n pop type of café nestled in a strip mall. It was pretty busy when we came in at 10:30 on a Sunday. The hostess/waitress greeted us with a warm hello, a big smile and seated us quickly in a booth near the back. The place is a little funky – but not filthy – so it adds to the charm instead of detracting. Menu is typical for what you’d expect with little in the way of unique signature dishes. The food came out quickly and the plates were hot. Serving sizes are pretty generous so don’t worry about ordering extra hash browns or an English muffin with your plate. The prices are average for the fare and the area. Overall, very satisfied! Looking forward to coming back.

Hubby and I went here for brunch on Sunday. All the tables were full except for 1 booth. I had the Monterey omlete with pancakes and Hubby got a cheese omlete. It’s great that they had no problems with substitutions since neither of us rarely get exactly what’s on a menu. I like that everything is made with real food and not thing like«cheese sauce» which you never really know what’s in it. It looks they have recently remodeled. Everything looks neat and clean. They have a TV by the counter if you want to watch the news with your breakfast which is nice. But it didn’t bother us at all in the booth. Even though the place was full while we were there, we were still able to hear each other. The service was great. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, and they took our order as soon as we were ready. It didn’t take long to make our food either. We’ll definetly be going back.

Hubby and I visited there on a Sat morning. We were looking forward to trying this place because it’s SUPER close to our house. All but 1 table was full… SCORE. It’s a little on the smallish side. They have a long counter, booths on the side and tables in the back. This is place has the perfect hangover food(which we both were)…slightly greasy but good old yummy breakfast chow. I had a delicious skillet with eggs and REAL ham chunks over American fries, all smothered in yummy cheddar and a dollap of sour cream… just what the doctor ordered! Coffee was delish, too. A real plus! The only bad thing seemed to be the link sausage. Hubs said it tasted funny, and I had to agree. Was a funny spice or something. Probably just a personal preference for us. All in all, a solid breakfast/lunch place that’s reasonably priced with pretty darn good food. Will definitely be back.
