I was visiting Cullman and friends wanted to take me to that restaurant. It was such good food, I had the Italian nachos and they are amazing, just the size of the dish is way to big for me:-) Nice people, great food, absolutely nothing to complain about. I even bought a shirt from them. Greetings from Germany

After a long day of meetings, then dinner, then bowling. We stopped off here on our way back to the hotel. Work crew wanted to drink some beer, sing some karaōke, and let off some steam. We arrived around 10:30 pm, karaōke was going full board, place was about a quarter full. Since we already eaten, we just had a few drinks. People were really nice, a couple of the locals were getting to nice? The karaōke DJ had a huge selections of songs, plenty of customers wanting to sing. We stayed there until around 2:00 am, DJ had to close shop before but allowed everyone to join in together and sing a couple of songs. We had a great time, nice cold beer, surprised how their were all different of ages their! It was great!

We had a run in with the«owner» of the establishment which was rude and completely unnecessary. First off, at a place that takes and holds your credit card to even order an appetizer, you know this place is trashy. Second, the attitude of the«owner» was something else… from her mouth we heard«excuse me, I’m 25 and own this place and can do and say whatever I want»…well excuuuuuuse me. I’m not sure how entitled she thinks she is, but you don’t treat your customers with disrespect. There are FAR better ways to treat customers than talk down to to them… and to be honest, I should go into detail about the specifics of the situation, but I think it’s obvious regarding the poor service this establishment offers. Learn to treat people with common decency and maybe you won’t get these kind of reviews. By the way, expect to wait 30 mins for your appetizers and 60, yes SIXTY minutes for your food.

We decided to try Grumpy’s since it was a rainy evening at the lake. We were very impressed with the quality and friendly staff. The décor could use some updates(per my wife), but we were there for pizza not interior design. The smoked wings were great — we will order this as an app every time we visit. The pizza had a nice crisp crust and the ingredients were quality. They also have a nice beer selection, but I decided on Grumpy’s lager since it was 99 cents and very cold. Best pizza in Cullman so far…

I came in this place because the reviews of others that said they had a good selection of beer. Well that’s not what you should come here for. The beer selection for the area is pretty good. But one thing you have to have is the smoke wing. I wasn’t expecting much when there offering it with Buffalo wing sauce. So had it put on the side. Alex the bartenders suggestion. Just order the smoked wings plane. They are the best wing I have ever had. They are a whole wing not a flat or drum. A whole wing. The flavor is amazing.

Waitress was friendly and very attentive. Offered refills several times and checked up on us also. Loaded fries were a generous portion. Pizza toppings over seasoned potato wedges. Very tasty. Ordered the veggie pizza and added some pepperoni and sausage. Great flavor, nice thin crust. Got the small and glad I did. With the loaded fries and the pizza between two the two of us was more than enough food. And we are big eaters. My daughter ordered the pizzadilla, honestly a better quesadilla than we have gotten from the Mexican joints in town. Prices are fair we will be visiting again.

Absolutely the best chicken salad I’ve ever had came from grumpy’s. And the pizza is 1000% better than any one you’ll get at dominos. Try the frozen margarita too, it’s like being at the beach even though you’re stuck in Cullman.

I’m only reviewing the Grumpy’s «underground» bar. It’s really the only half-way decent bar in Cullman and is located downstairs from the restaurant. I’ve never eaten in the restaurant per-se. The atmosphere is cool and there are some TV’s with sports usually playing. They do have Karaōke at certain times. This is the place for the twenty-something crowd and can range in ages up to about fifties. I would like for a bigger push for some better food in this area. When we were there, there was a new tap being put in to offer more beer, which would be nice. One day, someone in Cullman is going to put in a large selection of micro tap beer along with the same old domestic crap and they are going to clean house in the beer Sports Bar arena. I know Cullman just became«wet,» but trust me, it won’t take people long to catch on to the idea of high quality beer.

Grumpy’s was recommended by a local. I’ve seen it on Unilocal but really would have never known it’s location if this person hadn’t given me directions. The recommendation came with the advice to ask for extra sauce if you like to taste the sauce. They typically only put a little sauce on the pie. The crust was thin and crispy. The sauce was a little chunky and very flavorful. The cheese was perfectly gooey. A small 10″ Hawaiian pizza was just a little over $ 8 and lasted me two meals. Not too bad. This may be my new fav pizza joint. Staff was super friendly. I was disappointed in the Orange Dreamsicle cake. The cake was a little dry and crumbly and the icing tasted kind of gritty. That’s ok though, I won’t be going for the dessert anyway.

Pretty good pizza for lil olé town in Bama. Oh yeah. Grumpy’s Lager is just Miller High Life :) Plus a large pizza was only like 10.50 for a cheese pizza.
