I will never bring a family member back to this hospital! We were new in the area and had a horrible experience. We will go further distance before subjecting ourselves to harm. They made assumptions of my spouse’s condition they misdiagnosed. The error was simply that the doctor and nurses did not take the time to verify my husbands condition with my husbands other doctors nor his family. The made quick rash decisions without facts. Plus my husbands other doctors stated that anyone in medicine knows that the prescription drug he was on could make his heart stop if the pumped him full of that medicine. So they overdose him. It would not have happened if I had been asked when they contacted me. He was NOT lucid enough based on the questions he answered. For example what was the sex of his child and what he did for a living? He got both wrong. Later didn’t remember saying that or being asked. The nurse just assumed his answers were correct even though he came in after having a seizure. The nurse still gave him a good lucid review after I told her his answers he gave were incorrect. When speaking to his doctor he would not listen when I would say my husband gave you the wrong dates or information. They just took everything his said as the truth even those he was out of it. They would not proved a hippa form until the day he was to leave. They are the reason according to his other doctors that his heart stopped for a little while. His doctors are very upset at the hospital. I heard a lot of nurses say awful things about that hospital after we request for him not to be taken to culpeper in the future. Poor communication I couldn’t get in contact with my spouse for days. I couldn’t speak with my husband and I did not know where he was even though I am family. I had to wait for the doctor call and tell me what they have done. They did not mind calling me to ask for his insurance information and personal. The only reason I didn’t stay or accompanying my husband was because I had just recently given birth to a premature baby on a apena monitor. I hadn’t gotten in touch with my husband’s parents yet so they could watch the baby. I had enough to be worried about and little sleep with feedings every 2 hrs. Then he called to make payment arrangements for high balance left. Billings awful they kept telling us(more than once) over the phone not to pay the bill. That they had re-submitted to our insurance and they were waiting for a response to the claim. The insurance company had already paid but the hospital billing dept claimed they wanted to see if they would pay more. He was told that they would send use a new bill with a possibly different lower balance. She was on speaker phone so I heard the conversation. Then a collection letter and calls came shortly there after. Really?!

Nice attitude and comfortable setting, but the ER doctor completely misdiagnosed me and I ended up later in another hospital with a serious life-threatening condition that could have been nipped in the bud if she had done a thorough review. She didn’t; just sent me home with antibiotics to treat pneumonia when it turned out to be a blood clot in the lung! I would not trust this hospital for more than stitches and a tetanus shot.

ok. so I didn’t have to do anything major there, but still. It’s the little things that make all the difference. I went in for a routine chest x-rays. Went to the radiology department. In and out at 2pm on a Friday in less than 20 minutes. OMgosh! that was amazing. Same procedure at Fauquier Hospital, long walk in, if you can find parking, then reception desk where you are give a beeper, then you wait 20 min until an acounting person can see you, 10 min. with that person, then another 20 min. wait to get the xray taken. Who knew that Cupleper was so efficient!!! Maybe I was there on an off day, but I doubt it, I think they are just more organized, up to date and electronically plugged in than Fauquier. Good job Culpeper, if I ever have to do this stuff again, you will be my choice.
