Worst pot roast I’ve ever had. It was as if the pot roast was gone and we were served only remains(dredges) left in the pot. My dining partner got sick later that night(we had the same dish).

Okay… so this is not the first review I have written for It’s about time, but it is the first time I have left the restaurant feeling less than pleased… We had reservations for 7:30pm on Saturday 1÷30÷2016, my wife and I were meeting family and arrived ~7:20, we were as always greeted at the door, and were told that it’d be a «few minutes» till our table was ready, we were escorted to the Copper Fish bar to wait and that staff would come get us when our table was ready… anyway, at 7:50 it was ready(more than a few minutes), regardless we took our seats ordered our food and that’s when it all started going wrong… The entrees were delivered«look warm», the menu called for saffron rice(I got scalloped potatoes) that were cold and over cooked, no one from the waiting staff asked how our meal was or if everything was to our satisfaction… At dessert one server lifted my wife’s plate while she was still eating, when asked to leave it, he hovered over us until she put her fork down and then quickly took the plate away… Felt very rushed and almost like we were being hurried out the door(at 9:30pm)… Bottom line is, for $ 200+ I expect better!

We love this place, been for dinner and lunch. One suggestion I would have is try the open faced ham sandwich. The servers can be a little over whelming because they are always walking by the table. But that’s better then lack of service.

This is a great restaurant. The interior is covered in murals of Lake Como in Italy. The service is quick. When we were there on a weekend for lunch, all the servers were tending to all the tables. They seem to work as a really effective team. The food was delicious: I had the open-faced ham sandwich; my boyfriend had the pork chop. Their dessert tray is very tempting, but even more tempting is the long list of desserts they have in addition to the items displayed on the dessert tray. We chose the pumpkin cheesecake. It was amazing!

If you ever have the opportunity, stop in Culpeper, and have lunch at It’s About Thyme. Our party of three enjoyed sandwiches including the Open Face Ham, Portobello Mushroom and a Hamburger. Wow… all three were over the top in terms of taste, quality and presentation. A garden salad was provided with each. Rolls were also severed before our order. Service was super and price was very reasonable. If you travel 29 a lot, this is a great place for excellent food plus it is located in Historic and downtown Culpeper. Great shopping is all around you. Enjoy. We went back this week(11÷11÷15). WOW… you cannot beat this place. Our party of four enjoyed the three mentioned entrées above plus the turkey lunch special. All were outstanding. Service contained to be superb. Atmosphere terrific. It’s About Thyme is GREAT.

4.5 stars. My boyfriend and I were in Culpeper two weeks ago for a weekend outside of DC, and to go hike Old Rag. When asking for Culpeper recommendations, the only recommendation was to go to It’s About Thyme, so that is what we did. We wandered over at around 7:30 pm on the Friday night — it was busy and we had to put our name on the wait list. However, they walked us next door to The Copper Fish where we settled up to the bar to have a drink while we waited. Less than 30 minutes later, we were escorted to our table for dinner. Service from the time we arrived until the time we left was outstanding. It was friendly and they paid attention to us, but were never pushy and let us linger which we enjoyed. For dinner, my boyfriend got the salmon which came with some of the tasty potatoes I have ever had. Thankfully he was generous and shared them quite a bit with me! I had the chicken which comes with a side greek salad. The portion was more than generous! The chicken was moist and delicious, and the side salad was a good size and very tasty. It balanced the chicken quite well, and since it wasn’t heavy I was able to eat almost my entire portion of chicken. With tax(before tip), our bill came to a little more than $ 60 which was for our two entrees and 2 glasses of wine. The food and atmosphere were spot on. We had such a wonderful evening and dinner, and I would highly recommend checking out It’s About Thyme whenever in Culpeper.

I stopped in while in Culpepper for business without having ever been in this city before. I looked in and it was clean and had seafood. Being from Boston i gave it a try. Lunch and service were outstanding. A real pleasure it is to find a gem while traveling away from home on business.

Lovely little restaurant/deli on the Main Street in Culpeper. We opted for the wood fired pizza and it was amazing and to top it all, Mondays they’re half price ! They have a great range of artisan foods to eat in or take away. Well worth a visit!

Arrived at 6:00pm with no reservation(on a Saturday night) and the management were able to fit us in… Food and the ambiance was as always excellent.. I would have given 5 stars but for two minor issues, we waited 15 minutes for our appetizer and the main course was«warm»… Not hot as you would expect, the quality of the food and service was and is always exceptional… Will definitely be back…

Absolutely amazing! I’ve had the pleasure of dining here on quite a few occasions and have never been disappointed! The food is superb and the service is second to none! The staff is friendly and attentive, even when the entire restaurant is full. I’ve had salads, sandwiches and main courses, all of which were perfect… just perfect! I have even stayed at their Inn in the Thyme Room with a fireplace and small balcony overlooking Thyme Market and East Davis St. The Inn is quiet, romantic and luxurious… a wonderful little get-away close to DC! Thyme Market has an excellent assortment of sandwiches, cheeses and various other culinary treats that you won’t want to miss! All around phenomenal experience each and every visit!

This place was phenomenal. I mean fabulous. Stopped by accident in Culpepper after a hike and looked for lunch. The owner met us at the door and showed us to our seats. He was so friendly and passionate about his customers, greeting everyone and making sure everything ran smoothly. The service was actually beautiful to watch. It was as if it were choreographed. Drinks were always filled, tables cleared of trash(straw covers, etc), food delivered… every server watched the room to make sure every table was taken care of. The ambiance was also perfect… relaxing music, great décor. Food was AMAZING. The focaccia was the best I’ve had. I ordered the portobello mushrooms, which were perfect. Hubby ordered the steak salad… both steak and salad were superb. Seriously fantastic food. If we had this place in Virginia Beach, we would be there every day! Don’t think I’ve ever written a review this quickly. Don’t miss this place if you’re in the area.

We had a wonderful meal at It’s About Thyme. I heard great things about his place, but when we snuck away for a weekend adventure to Culpeper, We had to try it. We made an early reservation and it was already packed. I expected a stuffy place, but it felt very friendly and casual. The staff was very attentive. They actually worked as a team rather than have one server per table and they stopped by regularly. I actually asked several questions about the menu and they were helpful and knowledgeable. I ordered the Palazzo Pot Roast. I am a big eater and can put down some large portions and I may have met my match. This dish was big, delicious, saucy, packed with meat so tender it just fell apart. It gave me vivid flashbacks of stews my father(french chef) used to make. Really country-style comfort food. It could probably even serve two people. My wife ordered a ravioli dish with spinach and she was over the moon. Overall we had a great meal here and will definitely return, just after we get through digesting!

Quaint hidden gem! I stopped for lunch and they were super busy but I didn’t wait long I had delicious ice tea The menu was simple but had a wide choice of very interesting dishes. I tried the roast pork with scalloped potatoes topped with sour kraut and roasted pepper. Let he tell you it was served quickly and what a plate. It was a pretty to look at but the taste. Absolutely delicious It’s a bit crowded but you can look past that with the friendly staff and delicious food

I am a big fan of this place, and I’ve been at least 4 or 5 times. First off, it’s a quaint restaurant in a quaint town, so it’s a lot of fun if you want to get out of NoVa/DC for a day and do wineries or check out Culpeper. Secondly, the décor in the restaurant is really cool! The mural on the wall is awesome. Nice wine selection, really good servers with solid recommendations. The ravioli is great, but I think it’s seasonal. My go to is the roasted chicken, but I’ve had the steak a couple times and loved it. Try to get an earlier reservation because on the busy evenings they sometimes run out of the chicken or other popular items like the pork roast. Also, I know it sounds silly but the bread and butter is awesome. A couple things to note, I’m pretty sure they are closed on Sundays. Also reservations for Friday and Saturday night sometimes get filled up a little early.

I’ve been to It’s About Thyme twice now since moving to Culpeper. I love it! Top 3 favorite restaurants for sure! The first time I went was during restaurant week. Had a great 3 course meal for 25 $. The service was great! We didn’t have a reservation, which is recommended during restaurant week, and were seated immediately. The server was friendly and personable. Trying to remember the exact meal, but I do remember the key lime pie, which was light and tart! Yum! Last night I had the chance to go again! I’ve attached 4 photos for your viewing pleasure! *drools* my boyfriend and I started with lobster ravioli. Creamy saffron sauce covered 3 succulent ravioli. had Chardonnay and he had a local lager. Definitely satisfied with those! For the main course, he had the prime rib special which came with potatoes and brocolini. The meat was well seasoned and tender! Cooked exactly as requested, medium rare. I had the rockfish with lump crab. The cinnamon sauce was AMAZING! I, needless to say, made it to the clean plate club! And then finished off the meal with a salted caramel gelato and chocolate chip cannoli. Will definitely be going back!
