This place is really cool! The bar is hidden behind a barbershop, I would have never guessed there was a bar if I passed this shop on the street. Anyway happy hour is from 6−8pm I came on Thursday. The dj was good, dance type music started playing as we were getting ready to leave around 9:30, as I have work early. I’d like to return in a non work night. We didn’t eat here just had drinks. My first drink was the strawberry fields which was good, a bit pricey to drink many of the them but nice to try. I’ll probably get a whiskey cocktail next time. My second drink was cab Sauvignon which was $ 5 on happy hour. Cool, fun place, I’ll be back and try some food next time!

Great drinks and grilled cheese sandwiches. When I first heard about Blind Barber and the grilled cheese sandwiches I was like, *roll eyes* grilled cheese sandwiches? can you get any more hipster? But upon eating one, it was actually very delicious and the kale salad was perfectly cooked. They also have a great drinks menu. I would highly recommend coming here, although some people have told me that it can turn a bit clubby around 11 – 11:30(something hipsters apparently hate), but who doesn’t wanna dance after a couple dranks? hipsters apparently.

The best way to sum up this place is a speakeasy for hipsters. To enter the bar you walk through an actual barber shop which is very cool. However for me, the coolness stops there. The DJ on this particular Saturday was not so great, my skinny margarita was alright and it was very, very loud. Maybe I need to try this place on a different night.

Don’t ever come here !! They close shop at midnight they locked the doors and stop letting people in … My best friend Brittany and I came from far to check this bar out. We took an über from the west side! The bouncer at the door told us the place is closed !! I said it’s not even 1:30 am it’s only midnight. I believe because we looked like two white girls he did not allowed us in. We were so appalled when we saw he let in 3 other girls no problem!!! I do not recommend this place to anyone. Free outside we could here the outdated music playing. We met so guys outside smoking they said we are not missing anything that they would join us where ever we were to go to next . We went to he culver city hotel and we never felt more at home the atmosphere was so nice and the drinks were fabulous and they shut down the place at 1:45 am . Thank god our night wasn’t completely ruined!

Who would of thought that this awesome place is pretty much just in our backyard? The staff is friendly and very helpful, the music is great, and the grilled cheese sandwiches are a must have. Not to mention the bartenders are very informative when asked about the best or most popular drinks. I had 2 beez neez at happy hour and I was good for the rest of the evening, I complimented that with the number 6 which is a bacon and tomato grilled cheese sandwich that comes with a tasty sauce to spread over. Make sure you go there exactly at 6pm when they open if you want to sit down and enjoy the food. This place gets super crowded quickly, and by the looks of things its first come first serve. I give this place 4 stars because of the location, the music, the food, and the great crowd. It is truly a gold mine. I will definitely be back there.

One of my favorite spots for happy hour! The drinks there all looked amazing! I tried the smoke & dagger — it’s anything but a boring drink. Slightly spicy, slightly tangy and well balanced with the whiskey. Get these: Kale salad(even if you don’t like Kale, try this) + any of their grilled cheeses. The grilled cheese comes with a dipping sauce. I’ve had the chipotle, truffle aioli and pistachio pesto — OBSESSED with them all. I really wished they had a sample dipping platter for all their sauces. What’s make this place better than the rest? You enter the bar through a barbershop. On the street, you’d never know it was there. Don’t be fooled by it’s unassuming location next to a best buy, this place is a gem of a speakeasy you don’t want to miss.

Yes, you’re at the right place. Don’t question and second guess yourself. I’ve always wanted to check this place out, and after dropping some people off at LAX, I made sure I swung by this place. I’ve always has an affinity towards speakeasy bars. I don’t know what it is about them that makes me gravitate towards them. Maybe it’s the secretive nature, maybe it’s the crowd that usually pops, maybe it’s the interesting drinks that they serve? I don’t know. Anyways, this place is innocuous by its look. Located next to best buy and using a barber shop as a front. What a genius idea. Walk through the back door, and you’re transformed into a 20/30’s speakeasy bar. This was my first time trying coffee whiskey and god damn, it was tasty. Its located on their seasonal menu, but they need to switch it and make it available full time. One of the best cocktails I’ve had. If memory serves me correct, the drink was called«JOE». If you’re a fan of coffee, get it. As for the crowd, we must have gone on a very popular time. The place was packed like sardines inside. It was very difficult to navigate the floor, and not bump into people and or having drinks getting spilled on you. All in all, as the terminator best said it… I’ll be back.

I liked going through a barber shop to get here, hehe. It’s a chill place with cute décor, and the drinks are very well made! I had the hot heather, batman, ad and el piloto. The batman was definitely my fave! Plus, props to the nice bartender who made extra and gave us a free drink: D Good times!

Adult version of Narnia– our escape is to a bar. Secret passageway to a place where we indulge in alcoholic beverages. Yes please! Great place for individuals who enjoy a wow factor. The entrance is a barber shop and it functions as a barber shop. The appearance must fool others. I saw that a haircut was $ 45. Is that pricey by LA standards? I have no idea. You just walk thru the bar w/the door in the back. When I came to the bar, there was a lot of table reserved and not many seats available. Unless you reserve a table, be prepared to stand. The drinks– I ordered the batman– it sounded cool and decent ingredients. Never had it before. My friend said it was good. The drink didn’t have a manly presentation. He smirked. Good one. I quickly drank it and ordered the magnificent mule– that was amazing. The ginger really bought out the drink. I had this drink at other bars, but it was done exceptionally well here. I recommend this place for at least 1 time try.

I’d been to the blind barber a couple of times before, but never thought much of it. This is my first time here on a Thursday night and I really liked it! It’s far less crowded, but very fun. And the ladies room had speakers, so you continue to hear the music while you take a potty break. Plus, my grilled cheese sandwich was delish! And the drinks are also very well made!

Ha! I’ve been driving past this place for years and it had me fooled this whole time! Located alongside the Ralphs under the Best Buy sign is my new favorite Culver City bar. When your Über driver drops you off, you might be scratching your head because this place looks like a legit barber shop and there is even a cute guy in the chair that looks like he’s getting a fade. Don’t blow past him like I did… hand him your ID. He will send you past the fluorescent lights and into the dark speakeasy in the back where you will be like«WHAT?» My first impression of this dark and secluded bar was«Huh? There are hipsters in Culver City? WTF.» But I guess if you have a sister location in Brooklyn, this is bound to happen. Anyway, once past the initial shock, we made our way to the bar and scored two seats and a cocktail menu. The cocktails here are LEGIT. I opted for two rounds of the Smoke and Dagger, a whiskey cocktail with Jalapeño, cucumber and ginger. It was fantastic. Smooth, slightly sweet and if I’d had one more, I’d likely push the hipsters off the dance floor and proceed to tear it up. Which brings me to the music… WHOA! Amazing DJ. I’m a sucker for a Girl DJ, because I just think that is automatic badass points, but truly the music was on point last night —(Lots of throwbacks to the 90’s) Great Set! I would have loved to have taken advantage of the dance floor and great music combo, but more reason to return armed with my best stanky leg moves! Love this spot. Believe the hype.

I heard about this speakeasy via the LA Times. So when I met my friend from the area, he said he had not been to Blind Barber in a while, and he was down for whatever. BB is located on Washington just west of Overland in Culver City. Cocktails of the house are the specialty. My friend ordered a bourbon concoction(sorry, no pic), and I ordered a Hot Heather(tequila concoction w/grapefruit & pineapple). BTW, tequila goes great w/citrus. My drink was excellent. It was super refreshing, and three of them knocked me on my a$$: 5 Stars. Likewise, my friend really liked his drink too. Regarding the ambiance, this place is dank! Look for the barber sign in front, walk to the back, and enjoy some of the best cocktails LA County has to offer(about one dozen craft cocktails). The front is actual barber shop where guys can get their hair cut for $ 45(sorry, I only pay $ 15 at the Vietnamese place). In the bar area, there are a couple of booths, and a few tables. However, I like to sit at the bar. I meet some cool people at the bar, and I enjoy talking to bartenders. BTW, late Fri & Sat the speakeasy turns into a club: 5 Stars. The bartender was also super cool, and a good mixologist. He was very easy to talk to: 5 Stars. If you want a change of pace from DTLA, or Hollywood, Culver City is a cool place to hang. I’d rather come to Blind Barber vs Normandie Club in KTown. Several studios are close by, the clientele are chill, the women are friendly, and the bartenders make stiff drinks. What more can you ask for?!

Came in here on a sunday to accompany my friend for his haircut. The bar is closed on Sundays, so don’t come if you’re just here to drink! Upon entering, the Asian guy at the counter was very friendly and offered us a drink on the spot. We both got old fashioned’s that he made, and we waited for a bit for the barber to be done. The magazine array on their coffee table is really nice! Spent a lot of time looking at those. I can’t really say much as I did not get a haircut here, but the guy actually showed me the bar in the back– looks super fun. I love how it’s a barber shop and a bar in one– you can drink while your hair is cut, and the barbers are very friendly and easy to talk to. The barber really took his time with my friend’s hair though, and it cost $ 45 for a drink and a cut. Will be back for the speakeasy!

2 drink minimum at the bar with a credit card. Prices aren’t too bad($ 20 for 2 simple mixed drinks). I find this place to be more of a chill spot–«just having fun /not trying to impress anyone» type of place… which is perfectly ok! It has a younger vibe. Like post-college…

Yes. I’ve been here a few times and finally decided to give a quick review. I had a good time on every visit. The place has been packed every time that I have been there, so it’s really not a big secret. The staff is cool, and the patrons are easy to get along with. A couple let us sit at their table while we waited for another one to become available. They were fun to talk to. Grilled cheese sandwiches are on point, and I don’t even like grilled cheese.

I just like the whole idea of this place. It’s location is pretty random, which I’m sure was intentional. It looks like a barber shop that Best Buy just decided to build around because the owner refused to sell. The vibe of the salon is really cool, rustic, edgy. And expensive. Haircut and shave $ 90, beard trim $ 20. But hey. I didn’t come for a haircut. If you just help yourself to the backdoor you will find a super cool lounge/bar. Like an old fashioned speakeasy. Here you find the cool kids and lots and lots of different grilled cheese sandwiches. Why grilled cheese? I’m not sure but I like it.

I absolutely love this secret bar. I like the whole concept of it being hidden behind a barber shop as well, very cool. By the time my friends and I arrived at 6:00 pm it was already a bit packed. The vibe of the bar is cool and the staff was really nice to us. Our server was attentive and gave us a few recommendations. Go around 6 – 8 to catch their Happy Hour! They usually have a few beers, wine, and the cocktail of the week. If you’re hungry, you have to order a grilled cheese sandwich. They have plenty of assortments of sandwiches on their menu. My friends and I intended to only order one but we ended up trying 3 different grilled cheeses because it was so delicious. The cocktails were delicious as well and a bit strong for me. I ended up getting a bit tipsy after two drinks but I still had a great time. I liked their drink of the week, they had a white wine sangria with a bit of grapefruit taste in it. I also liked their Hot Heather which is basically a tequila mixed cocktail with a bit of orange in it. I will definitely be coming back to Blind Barber to try their other grilled cheeses and cocktails!

I hate that Im not writing a better review because the previous experiences were absolutely pleasant. I usually see the asian guy(sorry i never caught his name). The second we walk in, he greets you and offers you a drink(which is btw included in their $ 45 haircut). This time, the night of june 22nd, the guy at the counter was so incredibly rude. He did not greet us, did not offer my boyfriend a drink, which is again, included. There was no where to sit because their waiting area was full so i asked where i should sit. He was like wherever and gave me the strangest hand gesture. Almost like, «are you stupid?» And when i asked about walk ins(for future reference) he basically shooed me away with a short answer. The overall experience is supposed to be higher end and i felt like a peasant. Frankly not worth it for the sheer attitude. I really liked all the other times i came here and hope that if i do return, that i dont have to deal with this guy again. My boyfriend really liked the girl who cut his hair and she is the only reason i gave a second star. That guy at the counter is highly skilled in chasing away business. He should add that to his resume.

I am officially a fan! Great craft cocktails, perfect grilled cheeses, and a hip vibe. I love how it’s a barber shop in the daytime and when the sun sets you can enter a bar behind the shop. I got three different drinks — old fashioned — dealer’s choice — a pisco sour kind of drink(I forgot the name) I loved every single one of them! None were too sweet and had a good amount of alcohol in it. All were about $ 12 and the bartenders were all very nice and made delicious drinks. The dealer’s choice is definitely something you should try because you never know what you’re going to get! I got a gin based drink that is refreshing but still strong. I don’t know what he made but it was so good. Literally hit the spot. As for the grilled cheese… SO good. The bread was super buttery and crunchy. We got a super spicy one which had a good kick to it. It comes with a side of kale salad which was the perfect side to the salty sandwich. You have to try one of them!
