Food is great, but they have the WORST customer service. I called to place my order and they said it will be ready in 10 minutes. When I got there the lady said its not ready because sometimes people don’t pick up their order so they don’t really cook it until you’re there. Uh, WHAT? When you go there it will take at least 10 mins for your food, because the cashier is the same person helping the ONECOOK they have. Service is E X T R E M E L Y S L O W so I suggest not going there when you are starving. The management obviously doesn’t care, and one tell-tale sign is that they still have valentines décor — -and its JUNE.

I heard of this place from a friend and I’ve passed by this place every time I go to Ralphs. Today, I thought, let me go in and check it out. Not a big fan of Yoshinoya, so I didn’t know what to expect. As I walked through the door, the Tofu poster did catch my eye, so needless to say. I asked if I can get ½ and ½, but they said no. I ended up getting a side of tofu. Next time, I’ll ask to not put so much of there Special Sauce. Overall the chicken was delicious and the green onions diffinitely made a huge difference with taste. I will be coming more often, since it’s healthier than me eating a burger and fries I’m sure. Service was great and I got my food in a short time.

My wife called in and asked if they had tofu available and the girl said«yes» over the phone(wife is a vegetarian). She walked to this location from work and they didn’t have any available. She asked the girl working what time they ran out and she couldn’t answer, makes me feel like they never had it and just wanted to sell us other veggie options. Not very considerate to their customer’s lunch hour or time in general. Sad, but true.

Extremely slow(wait usually exceeds 10 minutes) compared to the Orange County branches that I frequent(the wait there is less than 2 min), regardless of how many customers are in the store. Food is good, though.

Good solid option for a healthier meal that don’t taste like cardboard. Brown rice instead of white is a huge plus.

Great healthy food. Service is quick. The chicken is tasty. This place gets busy at lunchtime because it’s so popular now. I really enjoyed the veggies. Also the oranges so tasty. It’s a healthy desert.

When we finally got a flame broiler. I was excited. For a short time it was good. The service is horrible. I walked in and their was nobody at the front counter at all and the worker was just sitting their looking at me eating her lunch. I asked if they were closed and all she did was yell out the name of one of the girls in back. No hello or sorry. Worst service in Culver City. This is everyday with this place and same workers. Terrible. This why I prefer not to go to Franchise restaurants anymore

The food is good, but the service is awful. After waiting over 20 minutes to get our order, we finally received it only to see both bowls were wrong. We decided to settle and keep one as-is, but tried getting the other one fixed. They made a new bowl and ITWASWRONGAGAIN. When we pointed this out, the cook was visibly angry and started a new one. Did he ask to see our receipt, which had the correct order? No, instead the cook shouted at us from the back asking what we ordered. Guess what? HESTILLGOTITWRONG. How hard is it to make a bowl with steamed rice, beef, and veggies? Luckily, the third bowl was only missing the veggies so they put some in a separate bowl for us. Not one person apologized or acknowledged their error, instead we got a lot of attitude from the staff. Some day are probably better than others, so enter at your own risk.

Hands down the best place in the area to go for a quick, nutritious meal under 10 dollars. I use to get the plate, as I enjoyed the sesame salad dressing, but now I just get the half and half bowl. Brown rice and charbroiled meat for 8 bucks(including tax). What more can you ask for? If you know of a place in the area that serves something similar at that price range, let me know. Seriously, send me a private message, I want to know. With that said, every time I’ve been here the restaurant has always been clean, my Bowls are full, and I never have to wait very long. Sometimes I’m barely done putting sauce in cups when my food is already ready. If you want a decently priced healthy meal this is your spot.

I really enjoyed this place. Cheap prices, and the meat did taste fresh and less fattening. I enjoyed my meal here, and I can assure you that you will too. At first skeptical because I always thought of this place as a bootleg version of Yoshinoya. But then, I was wrong. It’s actually much better. The inside looks like a fast food place — that;s okay. No one is claiming it to be fine dining. I feel it ti be very convenient, as it is right next to my school. :)

Giant mutant cockroach running through the store just as I finished paying for my order! Staff was not surprised either just trapped it and took it into the back… Wtf?!

This place was fine. I liked the food. The inside is really bright and kind of blindingly white but I would go again if I wanted a little healthy sort of meal.

Super hidden corner store located in the same plaza as Ralph’s. This place is nothing special but it does the job. I like to think of this place as a healthier/smaller portioned version of Yoshinoya. I always order the chicken bowl for $ 6.40. The positives: — Opt for brown rice at no additional cost — No MSG, transfat, dairy, and frying — Affordable considering the healthy factor to it — The green onions give it so much life(feel free to add extra) — The hot hot green sauce is spicy! The negatives: — The vegetables. It tastes strange every time I’ve ordered them. I’m not sure if they are fresh to be honest. Opt out. — Portions aren’t the biggest.

The rent at this location must be really low because it is almost impossible to see from the street. It is located right next to the Ralphs in a nook to the south side. You could probably shop for groceries at Ralphs over the next decade and not realize that there’s a Flame Broiler in this strip mall. But enough about the location, the food is the real subject of this review. I ordered a regular bowl of the angus beef on brown rice. While I can’t say that it’s restaurant-quality, it’s many times better than the beef bowl at Yoshinoya. You get thin strips of steak that’s been seasoned in a teriyaki-like marinade. If the flavor’s not intense enough for you, there’s self-service sauce dispensers for more of the marinade, called«magic sauce», and a hot sauce. The brown rice was fine, I can’t do much better myself at home. The only reason for my two-star deduction is the value. At $ 7.50, I the price feels around 10% higher than I would expect for the portion size.

If your looking for healthy food and fast, this is the place to go. I got the«works» plate which has everything. Great tasting chicken and beef, salad, fruit and vegetables. Good sized portions. Place looks new and clean. Lunch time is busy. Ribs are next on my list.

This place is new apparently and I see some early negative reviews. Service is definitely slow as they have only two employees it seems like.(That might be a deal breaker for a purported fast food joint…) It looks like they are improving based on past reviews though. The portion in my combo bowl was generous, if not overflowing. Food tasted good, cooked thoroughly, and at a very good Chipotle-esque price. If you need some quick food in the area, give this place a shot.

Flame Broiler is a place I usually visit a few times a month at the location in Westwood. This is a new franchise opening at the Raintree Plaza Shopping Center right next to the Ralph’s Supermarket. Bowls no longer half full like some old experiences from reviewers below. They actually had more rice than normal making it dome shaped above the lid. Taste is same however I am accustomed to charbroiled meat. The food tasted it was half cooked and placed in a warmer the whole day. Beef and chicken were chewy. As far as service, definitely slow. There were 3 staff members but very new. Didn’t seem to have any leadership presence. You can tell they were inexperienced and lacked direction. I am hoping management reads this and improves. Flame Broiler is definitely a great addition to our neighborhood.

The service was very slow. I waited Longer than other flame broilers. Also, while I was waiting there was no one at the counter. There was a woman at the counter yelling Help and the cook just ignored her.
