Went here in February after hearing about this place on Tosh.O. It was good and if I lived in LA, I’d go back. But, since I don’t and it appears to have closed, screw it. Review written for no reason.

I really wanted to love this place but I just didn’t think that the $ 10 sandwich tasted like it should have been more than $ 5 or $ 6. They’re pretty regular and nothing like other sandwich places where I’m happy to pay upwards of $ 10 for an excellent sandwich!

This place is mediocre and I highly recommend NOT wasting your time there. There’s better places to eat in the area that are in a similar price range. I had the un-brie-lievable sandwich and was far from impressed. It was skinny on the fix’ns and heavy on the bread. My wife had the Cobb salad. That was ok but nothing you can’t pick up from the ready made section of a Ralph’s or Von’s market. Additionally, the service was severely lacking.

This used to be my go to place at lunch since it is close to work. I always did the Ideal salad and used to pay $ 10 with 4 toppings and a protein. I was shocked to see the price increase from $ 8.00 for a base salad to now $ 11.50! For the same salad I always got I ended paying $ 15 this last time for ingredients that haven’t changed and aren’t organic. I can get a better salad at Tender Greens for less.

Good place for… you guessed it, lunch! Great sandwiches AND you can customize your own. For example a veggie burger wrap with green apples, brie and mixed greens. YUM! There soups are always great too. Don’t leave without getting 3 of their gooey milk chocolate chip cookies. That’s 3 for $ 2! Best cookie in town.

I love this place! I’ve had several sandwiches and salad there and they have always been delicious. If the featured sandwich or salad looks tasty, you should go for it as it’s usually a few bucks cheaper than the other options. The place is a bit pricy — expect to pay $ 10 to $ 15 bucks for a meal, not including drinks. But they do serve beer and wine, so bonus there! The half sandwich soup combo with the tomato basil is my go to. So tasty!

I came here for a book club. The Duke Fried Egg Sandwich is certainly nom nom nom! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I had a latte… meh. But the sandwich more than made up for it. :) Friendly staff, open space, nice for a group gathering(like a bookclub). :) Plenty of parking outside or there’s a parking garage about a block away.

This is hands down the BEST vegetable soup I’ve ever had! There are ACTUAL vegetables in it! HUGE chunks of veggies FILL the bowl! Today has been a rare cold and rainy day in California and this was the perfect thing to warm me up! The staff has always been super friendly and the portions of food you get are large and delicious ! They also have great old fashioned bottled sodas and craft beer!

Stumbled on Lunch during a «visit a new neighborhood» adventure to Culver City. Looking for a good place for a midday meal… Lunch seemed appropriately named to fulfill my needs. I ended up getting one of the most inventive sandwiches I’ve ever had… I believe it was called«Melt My Heart.» It was a tuna melt… with swiss cheese and artichoke hearts. What a unique taste! It was great as is… but I really wanted to smother it in 1000 Island Dressing.

Dropped by here in the the afternoon for a work lunch. It wasn’t packed, which was surprising. Ordered the Un-BRIE-lievable sandwich and upgraded the side to a fruit salad. The fruit salad was well portioned. The sandwich had turkey, Brie, and apple slices. I got the sandwich sans mustard, which made it a little bland and just okay in my book. However, I’m willing to go back and try again!

Breakfast: Real maple syrup Good bacon, and you get a decent amount(as you should for $ 4) Smallish portion size on the brioche french toast, but quite good. Decent coffee Rounding up to four stars(it’s a little pricey for an order at the counter place) because of the overwhelming abundance of absolutely mediocre breakfast spots in Culver City.

Perfect lunch or brunch spot. Wish it was by my work and not my house as the only day I can go is Saturday; I’d go all the time if it was near my office. Love their sandwiches, salads, sides, fresh squeezed OJ, and lattes. Good flavors, high quality ingredients, menu is a bit creative, nice staff, patio allows dogs, and food comes out quick.

Ok prices, 1 good sandwich, one ok sandwich, need improvement on their sides. The sandwiches: Hot roast beef– Really good! Flavorful, warm, wow. Dripping with au jus when we got it, would definitely get it again. Pesto– was not impressed. Though it was lacking in flavor. The mozzarella is a naturally bland cheese, which I thought would contrast well with the prosciutto, but it didn’t work well for me. Wish there was a little more pop of boldness in this sandwich. The sides: Slaw– I personally enjoy it, I don’t consider it true cole slaw though. It has a dominant vinegar taste to it, so don’t get it if you’re looking for a classic slaw. Mac and Cheese– I have never been to a place that screws up mac and cheese, but this place did it. It was dry! It needs to be either lighter, or creamier, but the consistency was definitely lacking in moisture. Personally, I would go with fruit or with the chips. Get the lemonade if you want something to drink! Good portions, so you will leave full! I would like to try some other options on the menu, maybe I will write a higher-rated review.

Oh I’m definitely a big fan! SOGOOD! A colleague and I went to Lunch for lunch(HA! Bet they don’t get that everyday!) and I ordered a Soprano Sandwich. It has Salami, Ham, Prosciutto, Provolone, Red Onion, Lettuce, Tomato, Oil & Vinegar, Olive Paste on Roll. YUM. The olive paste is essentially tapenade and really makes the sandwich delicious. My only complain is the bread is a bit hard and dry but it’s not too bad that it makes me seriously annoyed. It’s also on the pricier side($ 12 for the sandwich) but the sandwich is pretty big!

Perhaps its the bread that makes the sandwiches at Lunch so much better than anything you could make for yourself at home. Somehow, despite all the juicy flavors running together and whetting your taste buds, the bread stays in tact, crispy on the outside crust, fluffy on the inside, full of flavor no matter which sandwich you get. Parking is plenty in the several parking structures all around Main Street, Culver City. Metered street parking is also widely available. Unfortunately the traffic jam that IS downtown Culver City drives everyone crazy, so be patient as you are going to be stuck for a few minutes getting to and from Lunch. $ 10-$ 12 sandwiches come with a small bag of chips, but for $ 1.00 you can upgrade your side to coleslaw, mac’n cheese, fresh fruit, potato salad or mixed greens, or $ 2.00 for soup. I’ve had both the Wild West chicken sandwich(a little spicy, very juicy) and the Tuna Melt(thick layering of tuna, perfectly grilled cheese). My coworkers and I come here occasionally to splurge on Lunch, but we’re dreaming of it every day…

I decided to stray from my usual Tender Greens routine and I’m glad I did. Lunch is an adorable little spot with simple décor, lots of light, and super comfy booths. I ordered the chick magnet sandwich with a side of potato salad, and the bf made his own custom sandwich. Both sandwiches were excellent– lots of filling, fresh crisp veggies, and perfectly toasted bread. Their condiments are really flavorful, too. The potato salad was just okay, it could have used some pizzazz. Big chip selection, soups and some other sides as well so there are plenty of options. I’ll have to go back to check out their Mac n cheese scene. I can understand why the consensus is pricey, but for great staff, quality food, and considering it’s surrounded by tons of overpriced ‘meh’ places in Culver city, I think it’s worth it.

Lunch may be the most important meal … and now it’s also the tastiest. A couple co-workers & I decided to «go to lunch» last Friday. This trendy sandwich shop on Main in downtown Culver City was an obvious choice. It was a working lunch and by working lunch, I mean I was workin’ my taste buds & olfactory receptors overtime. Triple lucky for me was our lunch bunch deciding to sample & share some sammies. The Three Martini Lunch is so 1964. This is 2013 … Generation Unilocal is all about the Three Sandwich Lunch. * Un-Brie-Lievable Sandwich($ 10) After one bite, I was a believer in this sandwich. Dear Lord Baby Jesus, we’d like to thank you for this Turkey, Brie Cheese, Green Apple Slices, and Honey Mustard sandwich on a Toasted Baguette.(5 stars) * The Wild West($ 10) Cowboys and cowgirls alike will say giddup for this classically American marriage of Chicken Breast, Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Jalapeño slices, Tomato, Red Onions, and BBQ Sauce on a Roll. It’s hot and haute at the same time.(4 stars) * Pesto Perfect($ 11) Much like Anna Kendrick, this actually may be perfect. The sandwich’s secret is Prosciutto, Mozzarella, and a Pesto Spread complimented by Tomato slices and Greens on Ciabatta. I haven’t figured out Anna’s secret, yet.(5 stars) * Tomato Basil Soup($ 4 cup) Compared to the other food, this was more like Tomato Blah Soup, but compared to normal soup, it was a-ok.(3 stars). The vibe at Lunch is hipster cool. it’s packed with 20-somethings and picture-takin-yelpers. Parking is free for 2 hours in the garage on Cardiff(during the day). Note that true to it’s name Lunch closes at 4:00 p.m. I hope the owners open a new place next door called Dinner. Until then … Lunch, Unilocal, rave, repeat. Lunch, Unilocal, rave, repeat. I’ve had this place bookmarked for the longest time and in all honesty I cannot decide how I feel about this place. I’ll start with this. In terms of décor and theme, they did a great job. It was brightly lit, ample seating, very comfortable, and all the sayings on the wall were great and super clever. «eat met, bite me» etc. In regards to the my salad, it definitely tasted like mock thanksgiving. well kind of. For some reason when I saw turkey I expected sliced or chunks of roast turkey, not so much sliced turkey for sandwiches. Although the flavors matched very well and the vinaigrette was a good compliment, I wasn’t blown away by the salad. My friend enjoy her un-brie-lievable sandwich. It’s quite a tiny thing isn’t it? In terms of service: I’m a bit mixed on how I feel about this. My experience was a bit odd. On one hand, when I asked the cashier if I can have a deconstructed sandwich with no bread… he was great in giving me different options to «try» to accommodate to my needs(I have a gluten sensitivity so bread is a big no no). On another hand, when i decided to opt for a salad instead and ordered my thanksgiving morning salad(since asking for the substitution seemed too troublesome) the cashier seem very annoyed. I’m not too sure if I was hearing things but he openly stated, in front of me, to his co-worker the annoyance of having the conversation with me and going through all that trouble describing the choices when i ended up not getting a custom order at the end of the day. I understand it was troublesome for me to ask all those questions, but was it necessary to reprimand me for being indecisive and curious? Not too sure how i feel about that. I love their concept and I do hope that next time, if i return, I wouldn’t have the same treatment. It’s a shame really, since the food looked to amazing.

When I first told my friends I wanted to meet at Lunch at 1PM, they asked where I wanted to go… har har Anywho, Lunch was referred to me by a few friends that live in Culver City while I was looking for a lunch place nearby. Unilocal also made this place sound appealing so I decided to give it a try. Overall, I enjoyed lunch at Lunch! They have a lot of different sandwiches ranging from grilled cheese to grilled tuna and everything in between! I opted for the pesto mozzarella sandwich, which surprise surprise, had pesto and a mozzarella slice topped with prosciutto in a panini form. Each sandwich comes with one of their sides. I ordered the apple cider slaw, which was also enjoyable. All of this for only ~$ 11! My friend got the mac and cheese and said it was so-so. I mean, you can’t mess up mac and cheese terribly right? The environmental looked really clean and trendy. I enjoyed the décor. This place is only open, again surprise surprise, for lunch. It’s closed during dinner and Sundays. Order at the register and have your food delivered to your table. Parking is really easy in downtown Culver. I love it! There is a free 2 hour lot that you can enter on Cardiff Ave and is just a few steps away from this location! Great!
