Food is consistently good however the customer service gets worse and worse. I called to order for delivery tonight and they told me they are too busy to deliver, then they said they could but it would be an an hour and fifteen minutes when I agreed they went back to the i’m sorry we are too busy speech.

I’m terribly bummed that Mrs. Garcia’s is losing their lease. I’ve been coming here since I moved to LA, and their chorizo con papas burritos have added inches to my waistline and taken years off my life, but I love them for it. I hope that they can relocate and reopen after they close in Oct.

I’ve been trying to find street tacos nearby and have been meaning to stop by for a long time, and finally tried it for lunch today. Had one chicken and one carnitas taco, though when they brought it out it seemed like beef and carnitas, but it didn’t matter since neither really had any flavor. They have quite the salsa selection but again, nothing jumps out as very interesting; some are just hotter than others. My search continues…

I stopped by here today for lunch because I felt like a burrito. They had a lot of choices on their menu but I just wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the carne asada burrito with hot sauce and pinto beans. They have a nice little salsa bar with good fixins so I helped myself and my burrito came out very quickly. It was a great burrito, good flavors and excellent balance. The hot salsa was hot but not too spicy. The beans were good, the sour cream added some good flavor. I was pleasantly surprised. So I went back up to the counter and ordered 4 more burritos for my Hispanic employees and they loved them! Definitely worth stopping by!

This place is great. The food is cheap and the service is always exceptional. It doesn’t hurt that Mrs Garcia’s is only a block away from my apartment. I always get the steak burrito Chimichanga style, Its basically a massive burrito deep fried and topped with cheese. I am knocking a star off because although the guacamole is decent and it comes with the burrito, its not something I would order on its own.

Long story short: cheap, consistent, decent. My office’s go-to place when we can’t think of where else to eat. I think I can safely assume that I’d enjoy(almost) the entirety of the menu(I’m not trying the menudo again) The tacos, taquitos and burritos are about what I’d expect – typical for your local taqueria. That’s not a bad thing, it’s not mind blowing, but it’s not bad. Their pollo con arroz(chicken and rice) is delicious, though. I love that they give you half an avocado, sliced, with it. Their tortas were also pretty tasty.

It’s local Mexican food with friendly service. Is it the best? nah. I repeat: it’s local Mexican food with friendly service. I’d opt to try this over the franchises next door with their abundant choices and decent food. On an hour lunch break with no idea where to go in Culver City, it’s not a bad place to satisfy that day of Mexican eating.

I don’t know who the hell gave Mrs Garcia’s 1 and 2 star reviews, or why. Maybe they got dumped while they were there. This place rocks. It’s so fun how it’s a small, hole in the wall place, but because it’s in DT Culver City, it’s all nice. I guess I can only speak for the veggie stuff, but both the veggie burrito and the garden burrito are amazing.(I find it awesome that there’s a full fledged vegetarian section of the menu with about 8 items). Everything’s just so fresh, so flavorful, so absent of grease. They definitely use the best ingredients and recipes.

Look its not the best Mexican food you could get, but its cheap, fast, and fairly tasty. A combination that is always good :). I’ve only gotten the Torta(s) here and would highly recommend them. If your on the run this is definitely a good option for mexican food.

Mrs. Garcias is great little spot. not as greasy as trad. mexican places. tortas, burritos & breakfast egg/omlette plates are soild. i didn’t like the brekfast burritos, sort of weird texture. i really like the tortilla chips, in colors, too(red, green) the staff & management are friendly & efficient.

After driving all over between Century City and Culver City to find a place to eat but can’t make up our minds., my girl friend and I decided to just make a random stop at Mrs. Garcia because they have parking space right in front of their store.(lol, we were exhausted from our shopping spree at the Century City mall) Walking in to this fast food facility with only 1 customer, we were hesitated to try their food but had no choice, it’s either that or next door, El Pollo Loco Chicken, and both of us hates El Pollo Loco.) Surprisingly, the food was good! The waiter was very nice and helpful. He gave us suggestions and willing to give us there lunch specials even if it was 8pm at night!

Their vegetarian burrito is as good as it gets, one of the best in town, and the price is right at $ 5.25 because it’s big. Now, if you like greasy type«authentic» places, then you may not like this, it’s more of a California style burrito, that is, healthier, not all greasy and full of lard. They serve a breakfast of scrambled eggs that includes the eggs, not 2 but 3 or 4 corn tortillas, rice, beans, chips, AND a little lettuce tomato and guacamole — very little, but still nice for just a free bonus — all for around $ 5 and it’s cooked the way you tell them and tastes delicious! On weekends, or maybe just Saturday, I forget, they have authentic dishes like pozole and things of that type if you like real authentic Mexican food. It’s a little more expensive but not too high. My ONLY complaint with the place is that they need to create more space for sitting and keep the tables cleaned off more diligently, but after all it’s basically a fast food place and they get busy so you can’t down ‘em too much for not cleaning tables every 5 minutes. I also wish they’d put an entrance to the bathroom on the other side of the wall so you don’t have to see or smell the bathroom if you sit back in that area but I suppose that would cost a few bucks. We won’t sit back there for that reason which is why they need to create more seating space up front and do away with the little extended tables which no one wants to use, they”re too close to the other tables for comfort. So okay, the place has some logistics problems as far as seating goes, but it’s 5 stars for the food!

I don’t even know where to begin. I guess the beginning will do. I’ve had Mrs. Garcia’s once or twice before. It was quite some time ago, but I remember it being pretty good. I was thinking hard about what to have for dinner this evening and ended up at the website. ONLINEORDERING! This was new. I love online ordering. I don’t speak Spanish, so ordering online takes all of the frustration out of the order. You know what I’m talking about. So, I placed an order at about 7:45. There was a section for delivery instructions, so I was very specific because my street is one of those weird ones with two parts that aren’t connected. MapQuest cannot find my house.. . so I’ve learned that I have to do this.(as a side note: ALWAYS use GoogleMaps.. . they can find my house) I ordered quite a bit of food(considering there’s just two of us). Steak burrito, Cheese Quesadilla, Nachos, Steak Taco and Chile Relleno Combo, a Cheese Enchilada, and extra salsa. Sometime around 8:15 they called me to ask what kind of salsa. Cool. That means they’ve gotten the order. I kind of figured that meant they were packing it up and I’d see my food within 20 minutes. 9:00 rolls around. I’m a little bit tolerant because it is a Friday night. I called to check up on the order at my boyfriend’s insistence. They told me it was on the way. 9:20 comes. I call again. They tell me he should have delivered it by now. They ask me for my cross streets and I tell them. No real answers. I’m starting to suspect that the delivery guy does not have a cell phone. At 9:23 my phone rings. It is a random good guy who lives on the other street with the same name as mine. He confirms with me that I live on the other one and says he’s going to point the delivery guy in the right direction. It has been confirmed. The delivery guy does not have a cell phone. What kind of delivery guy doesn’t have a cell phone??? It should have taken about 5 minutes at this point. 15 minutes go by. My boyfriend has given up. He has somewhere to be. He walks out the door only to see.. .. a guy wandering up and down the street with a bag of food asking each neighbor he can find if it’s for them. At this point I guess he had just given up on addresses. The numbers are clearly marked on the front of my house. Food is finally in my hand. I had paid by credit card for this large bag of cold food. The guy tells me that they’ll cancel the charge. This is the first time I’ve ever not tipped somebody in my life. I will certainly be watching my account to make sure it is cancelled. Two hours after I placed my order we began digging into our food. About 10% of it was edible. Nachos that have been in some guy’s car for an hour are bad news. About two bites in my phone rings. They’re calling me from the restaurant to see if he’s shown up. I am informed that they don’t have a computer in the store. It’s seems that when you place an order online it just goes to somebody else who calls it in to them. They never saw my very precise directions. Worst system I’ve ever heard of. I gave the extra star because the food probably would have been good if it weren’t cold and the sour cream wasn’t curdling. The chips and salsa were quite tasty. This wasn’t even one of those experiences that was so bad that it made me want to laugh. It was just plain bad.

Ah… I remember the days when fine Mexican food establishments trusted us crazy customers to scoop our own salsa. Well welcome to the NOT-Chipotle ran establishment, where you and I can still scoop freely! Now don’t get me wrong, I love Chipotle, but this little place has some good Mexican food for a really cheap price. Typically I stick with the carnitas burrito, with spicy salsa and no rice — all for around $ 5. The guacamole adds some nice flavor. Now lets get to the fun stuff… the salsa bar! It has about 6 different salsas ranging from spicy to the Americano, and here I thought that was only a request at Starbucks? If you like weird pickled things as I do, try the spicy pickled carrots. They keep me coming back! Overall, is there better? Yes, but with some simple liberties and it being close to the office, I will be back. God bless Americano!

Man, I’m on a low-cal health food kick: Day before yesterday it was mini-pizzas & yesterday it was tacos… haha… Specifically, yesterday’s lunch was a shrimp soft taco, a cheese enchilada, and a side of guac. The price was good for my heart health, though, and caused me no cardiac arrhythmia. My three ala carte dishes plus an iced tea cost 9 bucks & change. Service here was excellent, friendly. Order at the counter, then find a seat and they will serve you when it’s ready. My food was hot & fresh, the way I like my men. Wait… what? The taco was loaded with shrimp, but they weren’t grilled. They were plenty hot, but would have been much better grilled. The condiment bar was yummy, although I didn’t try to sneak a photo. My cheese enchilada was just OK, but very attractively garnished with cuke, tomato, lettuce, sliced radishes & more guac. My side of guacamole was mediocre. I’ve had better, and worse. I like chunks of avocado in guac, as opposed to a smooth consistency. Overall, it was a pretty good meal, but not good enough to bring me back for another visit… unless perhaps for the traditional breakfasts they serve here. Mrs. Garcia’s is open Monday — Saturday from 6:30am to 9pm, & Sunday from 8am to 8pm. For service, food, and ambiance: 3 stars.

Went here last week because I was jonsin for a burrito. I didn’t want anything fancy just some beans and cheese but after hearing how great the steak burrito was here, I had to get it. Meh! I got no rice in my burrito and maybe that’s what ruined it but I doubt it. It wasn’t like the thing wasn’t edible it just wasn’t that great. First of all the burrito was the size of my thigh! It too me three meals to finish it. Second of all, the steak — The steak was lame and I ended up picking most of it out. Third, the overall flavor wasn’t so great. I had to douse it in hot sauce just to taste it … mainly because the black beans in it over powered the taste. The most enjoyment I got out of the burrito was eating the last portion of it cold, the next morning, Now that was some burrito magic.

Nice quaint Mexican eatery in Culver City. Had two tacos with rice and beans, and didn’t know that a side salad and some chips was also included in the price of the order. The portions were just right, and the steak was cooked just right. The guys who worked there were very friendly and the prices weren’t all too bad. I’ll definitely go back again soon.

Geez — I guess I’ve been eating a LOT of Mexican these days… Tonight was my first night at Mrs. Garcia’s. We went there because of how convenient it was before watching a movie next door at the«last chance to see it in a theatre» theatre. I had a fish soft taco and a steak hard shell taco. The fish taco was good — but the steak taco was freaking yummy! Seriously — it was waaaaay better than a Tito’s Taco taco. I think they put crack in the marinade. It was surprising how happy it made me to eat it. I hope it’s as good the next time I go back. My friend ordered a Classic Burrito w/pork. She inhaled it so fast, I never got the chance to even see it. She said it was really good. I also like the salsa from the salsa bar. I tried this smoky red one that said it was Medium — it was really good — nice and spicy, but not too spicy. You know — medium. Another thing that stood out was how friendly the people there are. I don’t know why that stood out — it just did. And it was cheap! I got the two tacos(which came with chips) and a small drink for about $ 6.50. I’m definitely going back. I want to try the rest of the menu.

So disappointed. There used to be a great mom and pop Mexican restaurant on this site. We ate there, regularly. Mrs. Garcia’s is ok, but nothing special. There are some Mexican places just down the street that are much more authentic and tasty than this one. The salsa is the only thing that salvaged this place for me.
