Veronica Valdivia

I’ve known Veronica for almost a decade now and she never ceases to amaze me. She is a true artist. I am a picky person and especially when it comes to my hair. She knows her color like no one else and the products she uses are always top notch. My hair always feels great and doesn’t get damaged like at other salons (and I would know). And no one can beat her at cutting hair. She is a true professional who listens to you but also can see what her clients desire. And spending time with her is always a good time. Trust me, if you want the best cut and color, go to Veronica.

Like a few other reviewers, I only trust Veronica with my wavy curly-​ish hair. I had terrible hair cuts for years by people who claim to know what to do with curly hair. They were all liars. ;) Veronica was recommended to me five years ago by two friends who also had wavy or curly hair, I never looked back! She pays such detailed attention to the way my hair actually curls and after drying my hair curly at the end, takes a few minutes to snip off a few more pieces to really make sure every curl is falling perfectly. Not your cheap salon cut and style but my cuts grow in well every time. 100% worth it! I’m sad to be moving away from LA, Veronica is just the best.

Sadly, although I have had every hair color imaginable and cut, I had been doing my own hair for a while, from (don’t hold it against me) a box dye from the drug store! Veronica saw my hair and stated that she could improve the tone and make my roots less noticeable when they grew in…(I am dirty blonde naturally and love this idea, since I am lazy)…I went to her beautiful, stylish, oasis of a salon, had an amazing cut and my color done… She totally respected my desire not to lose length while simultaneously making my hair look gorgeous and stylish instead of the kind of borderline stripper thing I had going on.
I can happily say that nearly 2 months later, my roots are coming in and I can barely tell! I am NOT kidding. She’s a master at her craft! The color looks so amazing and natural and my cut still looks great! I cannot thank her enough she’s the best! I have had so many different colorists over the years and I have never had one that matched my natural hair color so well! She’s a true artist!

Vero is a true gifted hair magician. She’s been able to transform my mane time and time again, and never fails to impress. I’m consistently impressed by her skills ranging from her color, cut, styling and conversation. She’s extremely modest, approachable and down-​to-​earth — and really, my not-​so-​secret beauty weapon. Grateful for each time she dolls me up.

I have been wandering between hair salons since I moved, trying to find a conveniently located hair genius. At last, I’ve found the talented Veronica! Well, actually Unilocal helped me find her… and I got my first cut with her just last week.
I left feeling authentically thrilled about my hair.
If I were to tell the tale of my hair history, most of the stories would be variations on general satisfaction («oh, thats nice»), disappointment («hmm, maybe it will look better after I style it myself»), amusement («hehe, oh well, hair grows back»), and/​or depression («argg, why does hair take so long to grow back!!!»). But I left Veronica on a new high («I LOVE MY HAIR!»).
She spent quite a bit of time discussing my needs and putting me at ease in her unique little salon set up (just her solo in the back of a residential home). Plenty of free street parking. The cut and toner ended up costing me more than I wanted to spend on my hair, but I know I really got my money’s worth.
Bottom line. I definitely recommend. The intimacy of Veronica’s set up and the quality of her work leaves you feeling like you’ve just gotten a highly personalized session with an artist. Five stars for a no-​frills, killer cut and color.

Praise the lord for Veronica! She completely transformed my look yesterday and gave me the cutest blonde bob haircut! I’ve only dyed my hair once before and the stylist at the time was awful: she had no patience and lacked in skill. Not Veronica though, understanding truly what it means to woman to have a make over she made sure I left her studio feeling confident and great about my new look (She also didn’t overcharge when things took a little bit longer to get things right, instilling trust that we we’re in this together). Veronica is friendly, fun (trust me this is important when you plan on spending a couple of hours with someone) and super talented when it comes to both styling and especially color. When you step into her studio you are definitely in a professional stylists hands – An artist who understands their craft and really cares about the end result. I totally recommend her to all!

Veronica is the only person I trust with my hair. I have really curly hair and the couple times I have gone to someone else, I have regretted it. Curly hair is not easy to cut, but Veronica seems to have no problem with it at all. Not the mention the setting of her Salon. Very casual and inviting. Relax with a cup of coffee or glass of wine while she works her magic! Also it’s dog friendly.

Ok, now granted I didnt get my hair did, lol, from Veronica, but she hooked up my girlfriend Olga. Yeah i know, I’m Unilocaling for my girlfriend and so what right I really think her hair cut warranted a special Unilocal from me. Now i know i can rave how good her hair looked but i mean damn, my girlfriend looked esquisite. I couldnt stop staring at gf. Now im always staring at my gf because she is so perdy but last friday when I picked her up after work i was like GOD DAMN Babe!!! (my exact words) Her hair never looked better or healthier… Her hair was so curly and had lots of bounce to the ounce.lol. So needless to say Veronica, you will definitely have a repeat customer in Olga and for all of you 1800 people that have viewed my reviews, check this one out. Hey Guys and Girlies… Holidays are coming up and I know you want to look FAB U LOUS… I recently discovered this great stylist, Veronica Validivia, who is amazing in her craft. I’ve been around for a long time and have been in and out of many salons but haven’t found one worth keeping, you know the type that after getting your hair done you look so great that you have no problem going directly to your next gig. My daughter hired Veronica for her wedding and she absolutely showed off her expert professionalism, as we were all amazed at her control and ease of doing all 6 of our hair and makeup. Her range of creativity is absolutely extraordinary. If you want a great hair/​makeup experience with someone who is easy to talk to, listens to what YOU want; then I highly recommend you give Veronica a try — she will make you look FAB U LOUS!

Going to go get my hair cut used to be like going to the dentist for me, that was until I started going to Veronica.
My friend recommended that I go to her a about a year and a half ago and I haven’t looked back since. I am extremely picky with hairstylists because I have very curly hair and one has to know EXACTLY how to cut it or I turn out looking like a poof ball Well she has the magic touch. I recommend her to everyone I meet. She’s fun to be around and can do any hairstyle!

I’ve been going to Veronica faithfully for nearly a year now. I’ve worked with many highly skilled stylists, and she is as good as it gets. {It’s worth noting that I have challenging hair that is not the easiest to work with.}
She does an amazing job «listening» — not just to what you tell her about what you want, but also to what your hair can/​will do, and to how you express yourself in the world.
Her cuts are sophisticated in a way that lets me style my hair for both professional settings as well as going out. Either way, I feel great walking out of her salon and great about my hair for a long time afterwards.

You can read my old review of Veronica from when she was at Ananda in Venice. Like I said then, she’s the bomb hair stylist, especially if you’re looking for something edgy and modern. She never makes me look like a suburban mom (which I slowly am becoming)! I didn’t really like the vibes at Ananda so I’m really happy she’s working from home. It’s always a nice hour to spend with her, laughing and getting made beautiful. I don’t color yet but my blonde friend has her hair colored regularly by Vero and it always looks amazing.

Veronica is amazing! I’ve been going to her for 5 years and all of my haircuts never fail to top the last. She is truly gifted for cutting and styling hair. She can cut as conservatively or as edgy as you want and all of her haircuts last for many months and grow out nicely. She has a salon in the back of her home in Culver City and it’s very intimate and unpretentious.
I constantly get stopped and asked who cuts my hair and I felt it was time to give away my best kept secret to the Unilocal Community.
