Fried chicken hoagie is the way to go. Edgewater is a classy spot in Culver. A lot of Culver Academy families and Alumni eat here during weekend visits. It’s definitely worth the money because they care about the quality of food here. Definitely would recommend it.

First time here, the food was great and the décor is cool! Our server really sucked, never got the tater sauce he suggested for the fish. Refills were unheard of for the drinks and the fastest thing he did was take our credit card to close out the bill. The restaurant wasn’t packed maybe under staffed. Overall we would return, just hope for a different server.

I went here twice in one weekend, during the Culver Alumni weekend. First night, I had been preceded there by about 40 other(younger) alums, most of whom were drinking with wild abandon and crowding the bar in such an obnoxious fashion that it took 10 mins to even elbow my way up to the bar to order. But, this isn’t the Edgewater’s fault. Second day was much more laid-back, as the alumni/Academy hordes hadn’t arrived yet. I was impressed at their commitment to regional micros by the fact that at least 1⁄3 of the taps were midwest micros. I was also impressed at the bottle selection behind the bar. And the food was shockingly good as well, and not the typical stuff you find in small-town Indiana, such as jerk-spiced chicken tenderloins that were broiled rather than deep fried.

You can’t beat this restaurant for great food! Of course, it can get crazy on nights when Culver Academy students and their families visit the restaurant — that’s when service can suffer. Still, everyone understands the situation and staff do their best to accommodate the onslaught. We’ve been here a dozen times — and every time we find the food to be wonderful.

Excellent food and friendly service. The menu is vast. The grouper is really good, and they do a great job on steaks when not under duress. It’s not a place to go for light food. Bar service is great… the only place I know to get Maxikuckee Mist beer. It is extremely casual. a great place to go after boating.
