The Lakehouse Grille

Love this place! My husband’s family is from Culver so we visit there a few times a year. Lakehouse always has great food, an awesome beer selection, and is a super comfortable place to grab a bite to eat. Family friendly, too. I had the nachos last time we visited and the portion size is huge! Lakehouse embodies small town charm and I look forward to eating there every time we’re in Culver.

We visited Culver to watch a Lacrosse game at Culver. We planned our visit to include local place for pregame. 5 stars is seldom given, but his one is solid earned rating. We opted for burgers… The burger is loose patty and juicy. Well prepared and served hot. My burger choice was The Boss. It was monster. From bottom up Burger, Cheese, Corned Beef, Slaw and then topped with an egg. The bun toasted and branded. This combination was impressive, but I underestimated this creation, because the corned beef is NOT some shavings from a precooked lunch meat reheated, it was a chunk of roasted meat ½″ thick and juicy. Eating this beast, was challenge. Around the table was a well prepared French Onion. Another great plate was the house reuben. It too benefitted from the roasted corned beef, but was about 2″ of meat. Sides included house chips, fries made the old fashioned way… Blistered. And sweet potato crinkle fries. We really enjoyed our visit and food. Great food!
Another popular item was shrimp cocktail salad. Looked good… We will have to drive two hours again!

Our first visit to Culver and this restaurant. Cute place and has cozy seating. The food was okay and we enjoyed our meal but nothing stood out as exceptional. We will go back to try other menu items.

The food is dependable in flavor, by that I mean it’s better than good but not quite fantastic. Generally service is prompt and carried out with enthusiasm. Their staff is friendly and well trained. Their menu is solid with plenty of options to satisfy a variety of tastes. I enjoy the creative specials and cocktails. I really haven’t spent much time on the bar side but I’ve heard good things. Overall it’s an enjoyable experience and I would certainly recommend it as a «nice» restaurant.

Wife and I visit once a month or so. Clean nice atmosphere, we enjoy the sushi on the weekends, coconuts shrimp is good to.

Great people, great atmosphere and great food. You cant go wrong with Lakehouse on the summer (or winter) weekends. Its definitely busy so make sure to make a reservation especially in the summer months. New patio outside looks awesome, though I haven’t sat out there.
Great beers on tap and the Buffalo Chicken tenders are the bomb. I’ve heard the sushi is pretty good too.

Went for dinner after a day at the beach. Nice outdoor patio, great food, and nice atmosphere.

Do not order the strawberry salad. The lettuce was practically not existent, with maybe two strawberries and six lettuce leaves. Not worth 11 $.
Wine and bread was good as was the artichoke and bread appetizer.

Went for lunch, definitely the best food in Culver and probably in the entire area. Nice outdoor patio, decent beer list. Food was good; sushi tasty, edamame fresh and yummy, lobster bisque was rated delicious by my +1. I liked my BLT but could have used a larger portion of fries! Long wait for tables in restaurant area on nice weather days so we sat in the bar area and had a restaurant area waitress serve us anyway, was perfectly fine. Definitely enjoyable lunch and atmosphere.

I ate here and was served a dried-​out chicken sandwich that had obviously sat under the heat lamp for 10 minutes. Nasty stuff.
Also, being from the Gulf Coast, I am accustomed to a certain zest in my food that was lacking here. The sandwich, in addition to being dry as a prune, was utterly un-​seasoned.

I’ve been to The Lakehouse Grille twice and I’m hesitant to return a third time.
The food: Amazing. One of the best quality meals you can get in the area and honestly, their prep rivals that of large cities. The burgers are great, the seafood– delicious. If you can overlook everything else for the food: do it.
The reason I am compelled to give this restaurant 3 stars (and I thought about less) is the service. We’ve been twice, two separate seasons. Once in late spring, one in mid-​February. Both times, the service was slow. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, but very slow.
During our first visit, we waited quite a while for the food, which was alright as it was perfect in every way. We waited upward of 15 minutes for our check after our table was cleared during a time where the restaurant wasn’t at capacity.
The second time we went in mid-​February, we sat in the bar section. We knew we’d wait for food and again, it was well worth the wait. Our food was delicious and we had beer as well. Our waitress came around midway through our meal to get us another round. 15 minutes go by, she doesn’t return. We tagged a passing waitress to ask for help, who also didn’t return. Two members of our party went o the bar to inquire about our beers and were assured they would be delivered. At this point, we are now at a half hour waiting for the drinks we ordered. As it turns out, the drinks were poured at the bar, but never delivered to us, they’d been sitting there for a half hour. The members of our party who had ordered beer got theirs and I recall being offered one on the house due to the wait, but I declined as I was the DD. Again, the check took longer than usual to get to us.
I love the food at Lakehouse. It’s wonderful. I love how the staff is friendly. I don’t love when members of my group have to wait for something that is 20 feet from them. I’ve relayed this encounter to other friends who frequent Lakehouse more often than I do and I have been told many speed issues no longer exist. We may try Lakehouse again, but I don’t think it will be soon.

We got a sushi roll and jumbo shrimp for appetizer… A+. She got the crab cake and loved it. I got the seared scallops. I think I found a new favorite restaurant.

Great service, loved the décor but was a bit disappointed with some of the food. The filet mignon was burned so they should pay attention considering the price of the cut and they really have to add another vegetable. Had only artichoke which is bad considering that 3 out of 4 of us that had dinner don’t like it but we’re stuck with it.

Fantastic burger. Nice varied menu and great atmosphere in the bar. There is a restaurant side that looked very nice. Great location. Definitely worth the trip.

Really good burger and caprese. Son enjoyed the Kids spaghetti which we tasted and was well done. Beer selection was descent.

The tuna sandwich was EXCELLENT. But, the beef pot pie had no beef in it. Chicken was way overcooked. «The seafood plate» was dry and overcooked.
The service was great– staff were educated and friendly.
Clean restaurant, great location, nice décor, but ONE tasty thing on the menu.

Lovely spot on the lake. Great drink selection and food. Service was also impeccable. Had a burger that was cooked perfectly. Pro move here is to load up those fries. The cheese and bacon were a heavenly delight that I will use as my measuring stick for future loaded french fry experiences.

Stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. The atmosphere is pleasant and enjoyable. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, and it was delicious! The food was fresh and the serving size was plentiful. Enjoyed our experience!

Outstanding establishment. Clean, great service, awesome beer selection. While I was traveling they were nice enough to stay open late so I could watch my Charger game. This place is an all around class act. Food was great as well. Plus they have a Golden Tee. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Will definitely return whenever I am near by.
