Bru-Thru Coffee Shack

I’ve got to say… I never expected to find such an awesome stop so far off the beaten path! We were coming down to Portland after visiting family in New Gloucester and really needed some coffee. I found Bru-​Thru here on Unilocal and it looked super cute, so we gave it a go. It’s literally a tiny hut in a parking lot which you drive up to and order. We were hungry as well so all we wanted were everything bagels with veggie cream cheese and coffees.
I’ve never had a better bagel and cream cheese! The bagel felt fresh out of an oven (whether it was intentional or not) and the cream cheese was more on the whipped side with fresh vegetables mixed in. Again, I don’t know why, but I continue to dream about this damn bagel!

This is the best drive thru for morning coffee and homemade pastries. How can you beat Tonys donuts and Coffee By Design? The best part is the most friendly service you can get.

I can’t express enough how great of a business this place is. Quality service, product and consistently. The owner is so kind and truly cares. They have movie nights for the community too!

Great small drive through breakfast, coffee and ice cream place to hit up on the way to work. Being one of those people that has to make the long rural trek from work into Portland, I appreciate having something on the way that does not feel as hectic as trying to get something in the city. They serve a lot of local fare: Coffee by Design, Baker’s Bench, Tony’s Donuts, Giffords. They also do some movie nights in the summer (have not been, but it sounds good!) I normally loathe a drive through, but for a small local place, I will make many exceptions. I wish there were more small local drive through places. Please don’t take away my New Englander card for saying this: but small sweet places like this make a trip to Dunkin Donuts seem cold and everything taste like chemicals.
