One of my favorite places for some takeout. The variety is amazing! So many choices, and all the ones I’ve tried have been delicious. Now I’m in the spot where it’s difficult to decide whether I want to try something new or stick with an old favorite. Ultimately, I end up happy, so it doesn’t matter too much.

Great sandwiches! I love this place and that they are family owned!

Twice now I’ve been here and gotten a better, heftier sammich than in the Smithfield location. My 7th ave had more eat than slaw, thanks for that. Also a better place to sit and chew, big TVs and friendlier staff.

This place used to be he spot! Too much has changed. I’m not sure if it’s anew distributor or what??? The chicken tastes different and not in a good way. The chicken was the main ingredient in every sandwich I loved. No more!

The selection of unique subs in here really pops out at you right away. For 8 – 9 dollars a pop, you get a sandwich that’s easily enough for two people to split. I had the Wall Street: «extra lean pastrami and corned beef with melted swiss cheese and spicy mustard on a bulky roll»(it came on a regular sub roll, and I wasn’t even mad about it) My gf had the Eggplant Supreme: «lightly breaded eggplant cutlets with roasted red peppers, marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese» Both sandwiches were insanely good, eggplant parm was super crispy and fresh. My corn beef and pastrami were steaming hot until the last bite, and yes I ate the whole damn sandwich. Sorry not sorry. I can’t wait to go back and try some other stuff.

J’s is one of the few lunch options that my bf and I routinely return to. I’ve never had a sandwich here that I didn’t like. The subs are huge, enough for two! They have a large, consistent menu as well as limited time specials that do come back into cycle if they are popular enough. It’s fresh, good, easy food.

By far, the subs here beat all others. Giant, unique and tasty. Pilgrim your favorite thanksgiving sandwich and the ring of fire for heat and bacon lover.

I have been eating at js deli for many many years and the food was always excellent and fresh. I took a month off and we went yesterday and boy was i more than disappointed. In the past the place was always spotless and very very busy as well as amazing food. However this recent visit, not so much, let’s start by saying it was dead as a door nail in there and was at dinner time, not to mention the staff has always been rather rude but they seem to have gotten worse, the place was a mess, very very dirty from the floor to the tables. Napkins all over floor and tables as well as dirt, it was unappealing to say the least. We cleaned our own table. Than the food came I couldn’t wait to eat, I was so displeased. The quality and quantity of their food went so far down hill, extreme disappointment. The blue cheese went from amazing to dollar store status, the bread was a bit stale, the chicken tasted like and had the consistency of rubber. The quality of the food and cleanliness of this place has gone so far downhill that I don’t think I would step foot in there again. I want the quality and love this place once had! Not impressed but disappointed with this establishment.

Good for a quick bite. Huge menu selection of subs, sandwiches, salads and wraps. Chicken fajita wrap was pretty good and reasonably priced.

This was my first visit to J’s. I found the portions to be very large. There’s a huge menu with a diverse range of choices, so if you’re not sure what you’re in the mood for, J’s is perfect! It seemed expensive upon payment, but in my opinion, one sandwich was enough for two people for lunch. I will be going back for a second visit!

This deli gives you great options… Great sandwiches, appetizer items, and desserts. The sandwiches have a lot of meat, and are stuffed with toppings! The food is always fresh! They are very busy at lunch time, so calling ahead for your sandwich and food will save you some time, especially if you have a limited time for lunch! Definitely a place to go!

Love J’s Deli!!! Always hot and fresh! They are always super busy but never fail me! I’m a picky eater so when I call it’s always none of this just that blah blah blah but they always make it just right! It’s always clean and well stocked. Employees are always up beat even though they must be dead tired! They work hard and put a lot pride into their sandwiches. No other sandwich place comes close in my opinion! It’s one of our families favorites when mom(that’s me) doesn’t feel like cooking!

I am one of the newest fans of J’s Deli. I’ve always heard locals rave of these sandwiches but never wanted to go out of my way to pick one up. Recently got the opportunity to try it out and here’s what I have to say; My first time ordering I made the mistake of ordering without reading through the menu and got the«ring of fire». Everyone I’ve talked to says they love that sandwich and I did not. The ingredients and bread are amazing and fresh, it just turns out that I don’t like sliced chicken deli meat. My second time I decided just to order a simple roast beef sandwich and that’s when I fell in love. The size is awesome. Best bang for your buck. But what I love is the quality. The lettuce, type of dressings, joe the meat is sliced and even down to the homemade pickles makes this place so awesome. I be returning as many times as I can. I’ve been telling everyone I know about this place(though few haven’t heard of them). Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu!

I’ve never had J’s Deli before until last night, and the first question that came to my mind after taking my first bite of the«Buffalo Soldier» was WHY?! The food was fresh, hot, and most of all, delicious. Nothing was stale or greasy. When I first ordered, I thought the food was a bit pricey but after looking at the portion size and actually tasting the food, I think it was worth it. I don’t write reviews on Unilocal.I mostly use the app to decide where I want to go for dinner on a weekend or something. But the man who took my order last night drove me to write this review. I wish I got his name. He was so welcoming and friendly in the beginning, and then when we had a bit of a problem with the food, he handled it so well and professionally. If it wasn’t for him, I’d give the restaurant a 4⁄5 stars. Definitely worth a try.

Big fan of J’s deli for years. The selection of sandwiches is why it is on my top 10 of fast food The only issue is at the Cumberland location which has stale/hard bread on a regular basis on the weekends. While the Smithfield location is soft delicious. Please fix it!

Legit! Bread check Meat check Flavor check Price check J’s subs are right on the money. It’s my first time and I can tell right off the back this place gets it right all the time. After reading reviews I decided to go with the pilgrim. The burst of taste and flavor had me scarfing down this sub in no time!

I work in Cumberland and this location has yet to disappoint me. Very large, hearty sandwiches bring me back each time. They also have soups that sound great– I plan to try them soon. I will also note that they have never made an error when I place large orders.

Nothing but Fs for this place — Friendly, Fast, Fresh and Filling! If you like Sandwiches or Fresh type type of cuisine, this place will not disappoint. The sandwiches on torpedo rolls weigh about 1 – 2 lbs(just a guess) but regardless of the weight they are significant in size. More than ~30 different types of sandwiches. My favorites: The Freshman, The Pilgrim, BLT, Fresh Catch, Magellan, Corner Pocket… this list goes on and on. The beef stew is hearty and savory a meal on it’s own — Chunky Soup has NOTHING on this stew. I LOVE the fact they have Maine in Maine products! Oakhurst Milk — YES! Steve’s Whoopie Pies — YESYESYES — I like the Maple Whoopie pie. Call ahead for quick pick up or order and wait. The only place in Northern RI for sandwiches for me!
