I have been here twice now with my kids, it definitely has that«local breakfast place» feel. The staff is great, very friendly and attentive. The omelet was delicious. The kids didn’t live their pancakes but I think it was just a matter of taste– they seemed a little cornmeal-y. I would definitely go back though!

This place is always a hit with the family. I have been going here since I was a kid the place is awesome for breakfast. They also have hot wieners for lunch which I have had a couple times and it did not disappoint. My favorite for breakfast is the omelette and home fries. My wife and kids love the pancakes. Stop in for breakfast you won’t be disappointed with this Cumberland staple.

My family loves this place! My extended family members invited us to breakfast on a whim. Not realizing it was«May Breakfast» day, we drove to 3 different restaurants all with 1 – 2 hour waits. Then we stumbled upon Poppy’s. Although the restaurant is very small and there is no waiting area, the wait was only about 10 minutes. There is no hostess, so be sure to write your name on the whiteboard if there are people ahead of you. The food was awesome! The six of us enjoyed everything. The coffee is delicious! I am typically an iced-coffee drinker but tasted my husband’s hot coffee and ended up grabbing a cup of my own. Shane, our server, was especially good. She was attentive, friendly, quick, and pleasant. We are hoping to make this our regular breakfast spot!

Usually pretty good there. However, the last two times I recently visited they cannot make an over medium egg? It arrives 100% runny whereas there should be a little more firmness to it. Also, I know they are using«canned» corned beef and for some reason its served, after grilling, very loose and runny? It should be much firmer…, and it your going to buy canned corned beef the brand«Chef Mate» is far superior. And on the other hand corned beef hash is very easy to make. Simply ground up cooked tender corned beef(you may be able to buy this), quality cooked diced, or quality frozen shredded potatoes(like IHOP), add some brown beef gravy for moisture(you can buy this), and then salt and pepper! Very easy and a superior product!

Food was good but I have asthma and the waitress had too much perfume on so I don’t recommend it if you have asthma

A great small town restaurant. Poppy’a delivers country yum for breakfast. We had the butternut eggs Benedict, an unusual dish. If you like like texture ask for the English muffin in the Benedict to be crispy, same for the home fries. The wait wasn’t too bad. Make sure you write your name on the little white board when you get there. The cinnamon roll pancakes were to die for. Make sure you get an order of them to share or fight over. Enjoy! This place rocks.

Butternut squash Benedict was very yummy. Service was super. Told the waitress we had a football game and wondered if we should order. The restaurant was full. She said he is very fast. And she was right. Made it to my sons game in time… Had the loaded home fries. They where very good. Pricey though. Extra $ 3. Overall in the area we will stop in again…

Our family loves Poppy’s. The food is delicious, the prices reasonable, and the portions generous. The Chili Cheese omelette and the Corned Beef Hash omelette are favorites with my teens. My husband loves the Roast Beef Supreme omelette and the Keilbasa, Onion, and Cheese omelette. As for me, the Portuguese and Italian omelettes are always home runs. And for pancake fans — the Cinnamon Roll pancakes are addictive! It’s up to you whether you finish your breakfast and maybe don’t eat again until late in the afternoon, or eat half and revisit those delicious leftovers for lunch or dinner. I just know you won’t leave hungry!

Poppy’s is an old fashioned restaurant with great meals and great service. I haven’t had the breakfast there in a while since I’d prefer coffee connection or eggs up down the street from Poppy’s. The inside could use some remodeling while is why it only gets 4 stars since some of the seats are ripped. The waiters are very polite and the service was great. The wieners are extremely good here, but the cook out a lot of salt on the Wieners but still was good. Other than that the place is small and needs some remodeling and has good food for a good price. The place can get very busy too by the way.

The place is unsanitary… our booth wasn’t even wiped down when we were seated, the service was extremely slow, and the food was not fresh.

Best breakfast in town. Always a bit of a wait but well worth it. Waitresses are pleasant and atmosphere is comforting and cozy. Love Poppy’s.

It’s a great little breakfast place with fresh ingredients in there food. The homemade hash is one of the better I had in a long time. Pancakes are good also not touch light and fluffy. Omelette was tasty and packed with plenty of ingredients. The staff is nice and friendly and on top of things with request and refilling of coffee. Prices I think are very fair and reasonable for the amount of food you get.

First time here. Order 2 eggs scrambled, home fries, bacon and wheat toast. Eggs were good and the home fries were excellent. Home made and not greasy. My friend order spinach and cheese omelette. plenty of cheese and spinach, very good. Plan on going back.

Only been her once, but my gf goes often, and always raves about it. Had a delicious omelet — loaded with meat and cheese, and cooked the way I ordered it. I like my omelets well-done, and lots of places turn their nose up at that, but hey… that’s how I like it. The kids’ meals were plentiful and tough to finish. I tried a bite of waffle — it was crusty on the outside and light and airy inside, and with each bite, I could taste the malt in the mix. It was absolutely delicious. And the coffee kept coming… As mentioned earlier, I’ve only been once. Between the quality of the food and the affordable menu items, I’m sure I’ll boost my rating from 4 to 5 stars after my next visit!

I enjoyed this place so much that I am writing this review while my stomach is still digesting the food and my clothes still smell like breakfast :) Great service! Great breakfast! Best breakfast in Cumberland? YES! I don’t know why it took me over 10 years to try this place! GASP… I have been missing out. Great traditional breakfast options, Savory = Eggs, bacon, corned beef hash, sausage, ham, home fries fresh cut with or without onions, and hash browns(preformed). Sweet = waffles, french toast, pancakes(multiple options, banana, chocolate chip and more). The corned beef hash omelet with cheese that I had was cooked just like how I love it. Outer egg was still tender(not rubbery) a sign it was not over cooked. There was cheese and corned beef hash with ever fork cut I made. The corned beef hash was warm all the way through in the omelet! Great job! The home fries(NOT to be confused with hash browns), were fresh and carefully prepared. They were tender but firm enough to stab with a fork, the flavor was light, but not bland. The server asked if I wanted them with or without onions… THAT’s GREAT! I have never been asked that question. Of course, being of the savory team, I said yes. They added a nice flavor. The side of toast had at least 4 different options(white, wheat, rye, Italian’s blah blah) that I heard, but my mind and ears settled on Italian. Of course, one must wash down the savory with sweet. I ordered a full stack of original pancakes, that I shared of course, because the portions are«generous». They were good pancakes. What I would expect of pancakes. The place fills quickly, but they turn over the crowds pretty fast, if there are straggling customers, it is because of the customers, not the staff. Staff is quick and efficient. More seating than what you would expect from the outside. It is connected to a dance studio, so the parking lot on the side is pretty crowded. I have heard that people park across the street as well. I can’t wait to come back and am already planning my order.

Best breakfast in Cumberland! This place makes one of the best egg white veggie omelets in RI. Yum, yum and more yum. Between the menu and their daily specials, I was torn on what to order. Omelet or Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Pancakes? Don’t worry — here you can order both! I ordered the omelet and my BFF and I split ONEPBCC pancake. No 3 pancake minimum order requirement here! Woohoo. Coffee was made fresh(burnt coffee tastes like an ashtray so kudos for the freshness). and refilled consistently. EXCELLENT service. I took Scott B’s advice and ordered the homemade hash — delish! Definitely worth ordering! Poppy’s is a small, cute non-frilly breakfast spot.
