This place is totally a shell of it’s former self. While they have retained the lowest prices in town, competitors have recently popped up in the area that get awfully close to their prices with a better overall selection of beer, a FAR better selection of cold beer with much cleaner stores that have more navigable aisles. In addition, ever since Marketplace Blvd. started rapidly expanding and traffic increased, good luck getting in/out of their parking lot(yet another mess) in a reasonable amount of time unless someone lets you out. At this point, I won’t step foot in there unless everything else is closed and I’ve got no other options. Even then, the craft beer I get will most likely be warm since only some of theirs(mostly Sam’s, Terrapin and Abita) are in coolers and are quite possibly outdated.

It’s 5 stars as a comparison to what’s available up here in Cumming. Total Wine is a far classier place with better selection but it’s in Alpharetta. There’s nothing else in this area that compares to Jax. Lots of microbrew at fair prices. They carry some great brands like Boulevard, Boulder Brewing, Allagash, and others that I enjoy. Happy to have it close to home.

I haven’t been to many liquor stores in Cumming, so I don’t have much to compare it to, but Jax seems to be pretty great for the area. Their beer selection is smaller than I have seen, but is really solid. If you’re going to buy quality craft beer, go next door to the growler refill station for a better price. The keg selection is decent but not super exciting, but I asked about it and they will provide party taps and other stuff that you need if you don’t have a kegerator. The liquor selection at Jax is fantastic and their prices can’t be beat in the area. Not sure how they do it, but you will pay significantly less at Jax than other smaller package stores in the area. Their staff is very friendly and willing to talk to you for the most part, which is not typical for liquor store staff in my experience. I would come back here for all my booze needs while in Cumming!

Love shopping at Jax! I buy all my wine there, can’t beat the prices and the customer service. Mark is a great guy who knows his wine and is always friendly and helpful when I am looking for a new wine. Unfortunately I went in one day when Mark was not there and dealt with Neil who was not so friendly and nice. He seemed annoyed to show me some new wines and was not very helpful. My friend was with me and she was there for the first time and he did not leave a good impression for her to come back. We actually heard him using some foul language and yelling to someone across the store. Aside from that incidence Jax is the place to find the best prices. Be sure to ask for Mark:)

Always well stocked and competitively priced. Good selection of single malts too, if that’s your thing.

It’s ok but used to be a lot better under previous ownership. Wine selection is still«ok» and dare I say probably still the best in the immediate Cumming shopping area but they have trended toward the lower end of the selection spectrum. Sometimes I think they are buying past vintage bottles for filler and for being able to have moderate quality at lower prices but I would prefer higher quality. Best selection in Alpharetta area is without a doubt Total Wine. Having said that, if you need a quick staple in the wine, beer or liquor realm and you’re in Cumming then Jax should do the trick. But if you’re looking for a special bottle(wine) I would suggest Total Wine or some some other shop as these days Jax seems to be low on or vacant of what I would consider a special bottle.

This place has really gone downhill since being sold to a Korean outfit or family. The wine selection has gone to pot and the help has vanished along with the specials that were actually special. If you want customer service and a decent wine selection, head to Pops or Total Wines.

Best prices in Cumming for all your liquor needs. Beats BJ’s by $ 1.00 per bottle.

Hell yes. I don’t usually go this far out, but I had a customer in Dawsonville who required a visit onsite. Since I was this far out I looked up package stores to see what’s around, and Jax came up as number one on the list. Soooo, drive down and check it out. Easy to find, right off the exit on Hwy 20 where everything else on Earth is, big lot, easy access. Went in to find a good sized package store, plenty of stock. Since I’m beer man I skipped past everything else and went to the beer section. Holy piss. Wow. Huge selection, lots of rarities, even a few I’ve never seen around Atlanta. Good prices, lots of inventory, I’m sold on this place. If that is I’m ever around again.

When I need to restock my beer fridge, I head to Cumming to this stop. It is also at an exit that has just about every conceivable store needed, so that helps if we are doing a restocking run for other things besides beverages. Very busy, but usually very helpful staff that are knowledgeable. My favorite place to linger over interesting and varied beer selections.

Best place in Cumming for alcohol. Period. Fairly large selection of beer and liquor, and there is no creepy vibe
